What Skiers Say About Les 2 Alpes

Les 2 Alpes attracts a mixed crowd of beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with families and groups of friends in their twenties being common. The high altitude consistently delivers good snow conditions, and the lift system—particularly the new Jandri lift—receives widespread praise for minimal queuing. Reviewers frequently mention the lively après-ski scene at Pano Bar and Umbrella Bar, though opinions on the skiing area size vary, with some feeling the advertised piste kilometres overstate the actual terrain. The lower slopes, particularly the narrow runs back to the village at the end of the day, are repeatedly criticised for being icy, overcrowded, and challenging. Most visitors appreciate the range of restaurants and bars in the town, though some note limited and expensive on-mountain dining options.

A great all round resort, with excellent apres ski, at bars like Umbrella as well as bars and clubs in the town. There are some long runs including from the top of the resort all the way down into the valley. The lifts can have fairly sizeable queues in the mornings, especially for the main gondolas, but other options on chair lifts are available.

The resort was good, at the time the snow wasnt the best but I believe thats not really the resorts fault however more artificial snow couldve been used

Great resort, although we weren't lucky with snow conditions. The runs that were open back to resort got pretty hectic at the end of the day, but they seemed to be working hard to keep conditions as good as possible. Apres was good fun too!

Lovely vibe at these slopes!! Some runs are super chilled then end up being a small path so for learners look out for that! Good chance to practice thinner and flatter routes! Other than that the routes from the peak are insane!!!

I went during the rise festival.
The music festival by night and skiing by day.
The lifts were fast and efficient with very little queues.
The skiing higher up the mountain with blue runs was very fun and picturesque
The accommodation that we stayed at during rise, turned off the internet/wifi so this wasnt even a payable upgrade.
They supplied temporary linen, but if you wanted actual bedding and linen or towels you had to pay extra for this.

First time in Les 2!
I took a friend who had never been skiing before so this review comes from both experienced and inexperienced eyes.
We loved it! So many nice restaurants and bars ranging from cheap to a bit more pricey but it was all so good!
Plenty of shops and supermarkets, multiple ski hire places. Its easy enough to walk around but there are shuttles every few minutes.
We visited early in the season but the runs were all very well kept despite the lack of snow, and when it did finally snow they were very well maintained.
Loves Les 2, we would definitely go back!

Resort was easily accessible by car, lots of parking but hard to know where to park at first. Accommodation was near the slopes. There was a variety of slopes, didnt do much off piste as weather was poor and I tore an ACL on a freestyle lesson.

There was lots to do - paragliding, back country ski lessons, freestyle lessons.

Shops were average priced compared to other resorts Ive been to.

Apres couldve been better but there were a few nightclubs and bars nearby

Popular with Brits, limited ski area in terms of there really only being one main resort. The 10km run from the summit back down to resort is worth doing once but then you feel you have pretty much completed it. Apres bar on the mountain is far away from resort but good fun. Run back from lifts to resorts can get majorly bottlenecked with inexperienced skiers and is often icy/slushy, hard conditions.

I have been going here for a long time, the options of slopes range for different difficulty, it has good options to learn on as well as a large range of blue and red runs however less black runs than some other resorts Ive been to in France. It gets very cold in winter as it is a high resort however this means it allows for skiing throughout the whole season, with help from the glacier ski runs.
The options for apres are great, lots of bars on the slopes as well as lots in the village! A great resort for groups, young couples and families! The only downside to this resort is the journey up to it which features a vast amount of hair pin corners, if you can deal with this then I would definitely recommend this resort!!

The resort and people who live and work there are awesome so friendly and welcoming. The skiing suits everyone from first timers to balcony skiers/snowboarders who have the huge jump park which is incredible to watch. Also on the mountain so many places to go and chill and eat and just look at eh views.

Thoroughly enjoyed L2D. New Jandri gondola complex is very efficient and quick to bring you to 3200m. Some very enjoyable runs but tricky in icy conditions.

Very unique opportunity to ski the Glacier along the Signal 1 run.

If you are on the south end of the town, getting the Diable chairlift and then take the Super Diable, you can take a nice run along a blue to the Gondola stop to the top of Jandri. Acts as a nice warm up and helps to avoid the crowds at the bottom Gondola stop. Also means you dont have to trek as far to the lift.

No complaints with rental equipment in the resort, and the accommodation had great facilities, was modern and clean.

I've been to this resort twice, once during Rise festival and the other mid-late season.

During Rise festival If you're going for the skiing the it's best to going somewhere else.

The overall slopes during normal season is one of the best casual ski resorts I've been to, it does lack much variety, but has very well maintained slopes for a great ride.

Brilliant village and night life with a range of restaurants and activities. However the slopes were very icy and I believe some of the slopes should have been changed on their difficulty as I had friends struggling to do some blues over reds and greens over blues

Stayed with the family 2 adults and 2 children (5&3). The village is long and narrow so youre never too far from the slopes, ski school was brilliant for our 5 year old, lots of space on the nursery slopes and plenty of magic carpets to progress onto button lifts. We were there during quite a warm period and although the lower slopes did get slushy by mid day, the abundance of high altitude runs meant there was still lots of excellent runs available. Lots of good cafes, bars and apres bars. Our new go-to resort!

So went here for skiing and rise festival.
I have been skiing since I was 7 years old (now 31) learnt on a dry ski slope.

However I have been skiing in Bulgaria and Andorra before.

The resort itself outside of skiing is not great and not much to do in the evening, there are a few bars, but no nice restaurants and not much selection. Im not sure if that is due to the festival (in terms of food options on the menu)

The slopes where not ideal, as two of my friends who are beginners, the green and blue runs where icy and some of the blue runs were quite stoney also.

Overall I wouldnt recommend going to a ski resort and doing a festival where they are hosting also, it was an experience and a good one. But would rather just stick to doing just skiing holidays

Very underrated resort, can find a lot of room even in high season. Doesnt have the high spec of pistes and lifts that the luxury resorts have, but as a result prices are lower and pistes are quieter. Recommend!

Resort seemed to be aimed mostly at beginners as the there was mainly blue runs, didn't see very many reds and blacks, not every run was open due to low snowfall but the blues we did do were super fun, have recently installed a new gondola which is very nice

We did rise festival here, very early in the season so the snow covering was light which left many runs closed or rocky forcing all the beginner to stay on a handful of runs. The signal lift was the best area good off piste near the glacier.
Festival apres was unbelievable full sets until midnight with a lot of people out every night.

There are lots of very long blue runs which are good for beginners and intermediate level ski and snowboarders. Some red and some black pistes. The new gondola lift is big and fast. The level of snow at the top half of the resort is always good enough to ski most of the season. The resort is quite expensive for food and drink. Overall a great resort.
