What Skiers Say About Les 2 Alpes

Les 2 Alpes attracts a mixed crowd of beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with families and groups of friends in their twenties being common. The high altitude consistently delivers good snow conditions, and the lift system—particularly the new Jandri lift—receives widespread praise for minimal queuing. Reviewers frequently mention the lively après-ski scene at Pano Bar and Umbrella Bar, though opinions on the skiing area size vary, with some feeling the advertised piste kilometres overstate the actual terrain. The lower slopes, particularly the narrow runs back to the village at the end of the day, are repeatedly criticised for being icy, overcrowded, and challenging. Most visitors appreciate the range of restaurants and bars in the town, though some note limited and expensive on-mountain dining options.

A great resort, well served with lifts and apres. Runs back to the lower resort get packed at home time, and very slushy if warm. Umbrella Bar is the place to be for after skiing and a good time will be had by all. The upper slopes have a lot of blue runs, so dont be afraid to go high up, you can always get a lift back down if the runs are packed

I love coming to LDA.
It is easy to find your way around. There are plenty of opportunities for challenging runs. Some of the best mountain restaurants can be quite full and booking is recommended. The Valley Blanche side is worth a half-day - including lunch!
I am 72 and looking forward to my first ever FREE lift pass!

Les Deux Alps is a great resort for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. The groomed runs are fantastic and the views from the top of the mountain are second to none. If you're looking for some off piste action then there is plenty to choose from. The Apres will welcome you after a long day out on the mountain and you can party into the evening after you've managed to get down the mountain. The town has loads of shops and bars so you're spoilt for choice. Overall a great resort.

Have been to this resort a couple of times. Plenty of decent skiing but very limited off-piste, although this was emphasised by the conditions while I was there. Pretty lively nightlife and full of young adults/students. Dont really like that it gets dark so early due to how far down into the valley the town is. Views from the glacier are amazing though!

Went there for rise and also going this January coming. Amazing destination and recommend to everyone. Had some really good sunsets last year and the apres is SOOOOO GOOD!! Plenty of air bnb options but you have to be quick as our options did get picked multiple times as we werent quick to book. Ski lifts are busy but it is what it is for the amount of people that go there. All in all highly recommended!

Been there 4 times and still love it. Love the vast high altitude skiing area and the steep slopes at the bottom as well as the off piste and snow park. The parties at Pano bar in the middle area of the resort are absolute beasts. I like the restaurants options as well. I really enjoy the resort every time I go there, wonderful place!

A great report with a great option for off-piste and back country action! Whilst I was there unfortunately the XL jumps in the terrain park where not in use but they still had a good range or rails and other jumps with kickers. Staff are very friendly

As everywhere in France, dont expect anyone to be accepting of you unless you have a flawless French accent.

We had great conditions above 2100m below was slushy come late morning and 15 degrees at the base in January. Strange conditions.

The 2km vertical run top to bottom is amazing but the piles of people in the slush near the base when youve had a couple too many at lunch is far from fun.

I imagine its a great place when its snowy in the village and if you speak fluent French. When the snow thaws its nothing special. Austria and Canada from now for us.

I turned up for the first time and within half hour I knew everything I needed to know. Slopes were very well managed and maintained. Plenty of hire shops, loads of places to eat out and a very good area for night life.

Les Deux Alps is nestled in the perfect location with a well connected cute town sitting at the base of an all year round skiing experience for all abilities. The village sits at an altitude of 1,650 metres so in the peak of winter you are comforted with a beautiful setting of snowy capped chalets amongst the beautiful streets. The lifts run to an amazing picturesque altitude of 3,600 meters where you are placed into the largest skiable glacier in Europe. Being sat in a valley, you are always surrounded by incredible views that Lee you feeling humbled, whilst also having the security that what ever runs you follow down the mountain you will eventually hit the base of the town. Although this means the last run can sometimes get busy in Christmas or spring time, it does mean that with your friends or family will always find there way to the bar. Nestled in the upper region of the resort, L2A has a brilliant freestyle park that caters all abilities with the fun park section having features for the kids, along with the proline featuring huge boosters that are good enough for the pros. L2A is also host to several competitions over the winter and is home to the largest on snow festival in the world, Rise Festival. Boasting a wide range of long and beautiful ski runs, once you are done for the day using all your energy, the town is there to comfort you. At the base of the Coolidge slope at the core brine hotel, you can unclip your skis and stroll straight into the Umbrella bar which hosts a rage of amazing talent from DJs to live bands and dancing crews from all over the world. Straight over the road from here, if there is bad weather, why not check out Smokey Joes with a pool table, great food, live music and free wi fi to re charge before the night out. When you hit the town later in the evening, check out Windsor pub, secret bar, polar bear pub, red frog or the mowtown café. You are sure to find what you are looking for at this amazing French ski resort. For more information feel free to ask me @hugo__taylor over on instagram and Id love to share some light. Big love, keep that dream alive️

Les 2 Alps is a great option for anyone looking to ski in the Alps on a slightly lower budget. We have found it comes in slightly cheaper than other resorts but you dont lose any quality at that lower cost. Les 2 Alps has some great skiing, its long, high altitude, blue runs are what comes to mind making it a great option for beginner-intermediate skiers. It also has one of the best snow parks Ive been to, you could easily spend a whole weekend just in the park. Back down in the town Les 2 Alps us a great bar scene, I stayed over New Years Eve and had a great night out, organised by a holiday company based in the town. Les 2 Alps is definitley a resort I will be heading back to, and Im looking forward to doing so.

Les 2 Alpes is a weird resort. The skiing itself is not great, some nice big groomed runs at the top, but that's about it. No real off piste, tree runs, or powder offering. The apres ski is fantastic, it's a good resort for a group of friends on holiday as everyone can ski together due to the easiness of the resort and the apres will appeal after! But if you're looking for a good resort for skiing itself, avoid L2A

Went there a few years back when I was a novice. Very good for beginners but enough runs for all levels. The other side of the resort has quiet runs that get the morning sun.

I love l2a for its great snow sure terrain and (relatively) uncrowded slopes.
There is accommodation to suit everyone from cheaper rooms through to the more prestigious hotels and all of them are well served with the Navette/bus services.
The lift system is modern and very efficient and there are loads of options to eat on the hill.
Party apres is very well catered for and its also possible to get away from the crowds if you have a family!
Recommended for all traveller types!

The ski resort was good, however slopes suffered with the slightly warmer weather considering its fairly low altitude.

Les Deux (2) Alps is an amazing resort for skiing and boarding. Huge runs from the glacier at the top to the resort. Plenty of lifts to get you around. Underground train! Many beginner slopes and loads of off piste. Beware the avalanche zones!

Unfortunately the week I went to Les 2 Alpes it was very warm and hat no snow forecast, so conditions were very slushy and there was no off-pisting to be had . Having said that lots of lifts were open due to the resorts altitude although busy.

Aprés was very good indeed, more than made up for the poor snow this trip, plenty of options for eating out the spot was a particular stand out!

Would definitely go back!
