What Skiers Say About Les 2 Alpes

Les 2 Alpes attracts a mixed crowd of beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with families and groups of friends in their twenties being common. The high altitude consistently delivers good snow conditions, and the lift system—particularly the new Jandri lift—receives widespread praise for minimal queuing. Reviewers frequently mention the lively après-ski scene at Pano Bar and Umbrella Bar, though opinions on the skiing area size vary, with some feeling the advertised piste kilometres overstate the actual terrain. The lower slopes, particularly the narrow runs back to the village at the end of the day, are repeatedly criticised for being icy, overcrowded, and challenging. Most visitors appreciate the range of restaurants and bars in the town, though some note limited and expensive on-mountain dining options.

Les 2 Alpes is a small to medium sized resort. It is home to the ski festival Rise Festival which takes place early season and kicks off the season with a bang.

There is an abundance of blue runs which are reliably open with changing conditions. Allowing the opportunity to ski from 3600m to 1600m continuous. However, the offer of the few greens and reds are less reliable. The slopes are shaped around large off piste areas which open up the resort, especially connecting certain areas of the park together. The slopes also offer a snowpack for freestylers, several bars and food, plenty of lift access across the park and some viewing points to enjoy on bluebird days.

The resort is well connected to neighbouring villages but some lifts and also a bus shuttle service which drops off at lift access points. In the main resort you can find an abundance of ski shops for rentals or those last minute items. There are many places to eat with La Sherpa, Buzz and Pizza Chalet being hot spots to frequent. If a pub crawl is your thing, youre in for a treat with 31 options, all a variety of offerings.

Enjoy your stay at Les 2 Alpes with several loft options, ski from 3600m to 1600m continuously and enjoy the nightlife it has to offer.

I have visited Les 2 Alpes twice. First for a musical festival and the second time with a friend. The runs are comfortable for an intermediate skier but a more advanced skier may friend them uninteresting. The apres ski is enjoyable including the Pano Bar up the mountain. There is also a good range of fast food and restaurants. There are a number of bars and pubs as well. The bus that runs through the resort is accessible and accommodation is plentiful and r reasonable.

Some runs very flat, especially the run on top of the glacier. Snowboarders need to make sure board is waxed, step in bindings useful.

Came during Rise Festival. Got super cheap tickets through a raffle prize so, while I'm not a huge fan of the music, the cheap snow was a no brainer so can't speak too much to value for money for the avg person). The festival is VERY early in the season. When we arrived there was very little snow. Luckily we had a massive dumping literally 1hr after we arrived that carried through the next couple days. This helped a lot but the coverage was still pretty thin. They had snow cannons on pretty much the whole time but the bashing didn't seem to spread it out much and a lot of runs (mostly reds and blacks) were still closed. Other than that the lifts were great and somehow the slopes weren't too busy (except a few outliers). As someone who tends to go on a ski holiday purely for the snow, I don't normally do much Apre. That said this trip I have and it's been so good. The live band in the tent were great, the beer isn't any more expensive than drinking in a major city in the UK and the late hours events have been awesome. All in all, I'd recommend the resort but I'd suggest coming later in the season if you're looking for good snow conditions. It looks like with a few more dumpings the side piest hits would be so good.

Visited for rise festival so slightly busier slopes are to be expected. The majority of pistes were nicely groomed however some pistes remained closed the entire week. The food and drink options around the resort are good prices are pretty average. The town itself is on the larger side and has plenty of options depending on what you enjoy.

Loads of good blue runs with really good lifts, especially the new Jandri cable car. Not enough beginner slopes or at least the lifts for them never seem to be open. Some really nice restaurants/bars on the mountain with great apres ski.

A limited number of green runs down to the bottom of the mountain, but main lift does still provide an option down for beginners.
Not a full ski in ski out resort but can ski to a couple of lifts.
Lots of options for speed up and down the mountain along with a lot of food options

Went here on a university trip. Great apres and nights out. Accommodation I stayed in was 3 stars supposedly but was awful. Skiing tends to get quite crowded as the resort is fairly narrow. Not good in a white out as most runs are above tree line.

I was here during rise festival so my experience may be different to the rest of the season. The tracks were busy which isnt usually a problem but the majority were beginners so there was a lot of people on the floor in inconvenient places and sometimes blocking most the path. The tracks were good but most the greens were closed and the tracks became very icy and had clumps of ice on the track. Pints averaged about 10 but that might be festival prices. The lifts are not close to each other and can be up to a 20-30 min walk to get from one lift to another. Theres lots of bars and clubs with a wide range of drinks and music and the takeaways are banging.

Les 2 Alpes is a beautiful place and has some incredible mountains like youve never seen before!

However, I found this resort to be somewhat problematic. The whole town is on one long road and you have to walk really far to get from one location to the next unless you manage to get public transport.

There are lots of places to stay and the overall town is full of restaurants and bars and theres even a great restaurant/bar up on the mountain so you can enjoy a drink with the most breathtaking views!

If youre looking for a party in the nights or even days and skiing/snowboarding down some incredible terrain then Les 2 Alpes wont disappoint.

Les 2 Alpes - a great resort to take families. Our party of 10, age range 5yrs to 75 all had a fabulous time. Skiing was varied and all found a great deal of variety to suit all ability levels. Our trip was Easter 2024 snow levels were topped up with regular falls of new snow and only the village runs suffered from the warmer weather. Ski school was great for the youngest members. We stayed in a self catering chalet which was excellent and managed to eat out on three nights and really enjoyed good food, good prices and good service. We always met up at lunchtime on the mountain, which was on the expensive side. Lifts were extensive and offered lots of alternatives to reach various points. This will only improve with the opening of the new high speed, comfortable Jandri replacement.
We will be returning to Les 2 Alpes.

Les 2 alpes was a great experience, they had a large range or runs and different changes to face on the mountain, the skiing was incredible with amazing views and a great snow quality higher up the mountain, due to the time I went the snow lower down the mountain wasnt great but thanks to the glacier and the pure height of the mountain this was not an issue, the food and drink there are expensive but that is expected with a ski resort, while les 2 alpes is a great ski resort it has a long way to go and need some infrastructure upgrades however they are currently underway building many ski lifts across the resort so this will not be a problem, I recommended going as it is a nice small ski resort and a very good experience especially if you like visiting different resorts, would recommend

Great long runs up to about 10km meaning not huge waiting times at the lift and more time spent on the slope.
Great for skiing for a much longer season as the mountain has a glacier under the snow to keep cool up until June. I visited in April last year and the snow was perfect so good that I am going again in April 2025. Less people on the slope but still great snow.
