What Skiers Say About Les 2 Alpes

Les 2 Alpes attracts a mixed crowd of beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with families and groups of friends in their twenties being common. The high altitude consistently delivers good snow conditions, and the lift system—particularly the new Jandri lift—receives widespread praise for minimal queuing. Reviewers frequently mention the lively après-ski scene at Pano Bar and Umbrella Bar, though opinions on the skiing area size vary, with some feeling the advertised piste kilometres overstate the actual terrain. The lower slopes, particularly the narrow runs back to the village at the end of the day, are repeatedly criticised for being icy, overcrowded, and challenging. Most visitors appreciate the range of restaurants and bars in the town, though some note limited and expensive on-mountain dining options.

Me and my partner went to Les deux alps in January of 26 and had the best time. We was quite surprised at how reasonably price the resort was for food and drink, as well as the vast variety to choose from in resort. The two mountains catered for all ski levels and we also got extremely lucky with the weather! Les deux alps 100% worth a visit!!!

Great place for Easter skiing
Great to be able to get up high for better conditions. We had a very warm Easter, so lower slopes became slushy, being able to go up higher meant we could ski all day.

Smallish area for skiing compared to other places we've visited, but thoroughly enjoyed our time there

Great town area for food and clothes shopping, plenty of restaurants.

Would definitely recommend.

Great resort, we stayed at hotel Ibiza, lots of families there, lift queues were fairly short, it was a bit light on fresh snow but everything was still very skiable - some very cool off-piste, would be epic with powder. Late season so really lovely and warm down the bottom, got a bit Slushy towards the end of the day but still skiable, once the skiing was done you could sit in the sun in a t-shirt and enjoy a drink at the bottom (great bistro at the bottom of le diable for a beer in the sun). Will 100% go back.

Great report, as it was Feb half term week it was busy but because of the resort size it didn’t feel busy. Skiing was great and snow condition superb. Recommendation would be to try the night skiing which is on each Wednesday evening.

This is a very good resort option for a short break. Me and four others enjoyed great skiing, food and drink for three days in January. Three star Hotel Melezes, right on the piste was excellent. We bought lift passes at the hotel and very convenient ski hire was around the corner.
It was a very short walk (100m) or pole ski to the Diable lift each morning. Pistes were well groomed and the ratings were appropriate. The signage wasn’t always a clear as it could be and noticeably so given what I have been used to in other French resorts. Hotel food was excellent so take the half board option. There is a hot tub you can book a 30 minute slot to use for free. Hotel lounges were spacious and comfortable. Staff were without exception superb.
The town is lively and has great aprés with live musicians commonplace. The high street is also full of traditional ski resort shops like local produce, wine etc. There were lots of restaurants and bars available to choose from. We just enjoyed the bars.
It is easy to get to this resort by bus in less than a couple of hours from Grenoble train station. Grenoble is linked to Paris and the SNCF journey was just over two hours.
All in all, not that extensive but a great choice for a short break.

We had a great time at Les 2 Alpes. I had some lessons and the instructor was friendly and took us on some great runs. Some days were quieter than others, but the area is huge, and lots of runs for beginners like me.
The restaurant options were great and there was some nice bars to visit in the evenings.

Of the 3 skiing days I was really impressed with the ski lift to the glacier. Fast, and efficientbut it was out of peak season. . Great bars on the slopes, I could have stayed for hours but 1 Aperol had to do. Chosen for resort height, snow was amazing, very lucky with blue skies each day.

L2A was a fantastic resort especially for Easter skiing. If you like a long blue run there are plenty of these and allow more novice members of the group to progress from greens quite easily. Talking of beginners, having nursery slopes in the village, and at 2,600 and 3,200m makes it feel like they can be part of the action and not confined to the village zone. Conditions are great and guaranteed with the high altitude and the views from the top of the resort are amazing.

School trip of 86 kids. Great resort, more runs than we had time to do and the italian ski instructors we had were unreal. Ski cafes and bars were brilliant, with some quality apres ski bars with live djs and allsorts. Slope management excellent, even with hit conditions it was still very good conditions to board. Town was great and food options a plenty. Casa Nostra food was unbelievably good. Would highly recommend this resort

Good value but not great for snowboarders who are beginners as alot of the green and blue runs are narrow!

We had a week including beginner snowboarders and experienced skiers and plenty for everyone. Loving the new Jandri Express up to the glacier. Amazing conditions for end of season.
Hotel Le Sherpa, in the heart of the village is an absolute treasure.

I regularly visit this resort its got a long setup of many different amenities and things to do. I did alot of my learning with the team here and would recommend their expertise in teaching. The only unfortunate part I would say is that the green run is not friendly for beginner snowboarders due to a really flat part that takes 10 mins to walk down if you lose speed on. As a beginner you wouldnt be able to control how much speed youd need for the duration of the flat and even if youre advanced and need to slow down for any reason it will mean youd have to get off your board and walk down this part. Towards the end of the mountain is prone to icy terrain and can be dangerous so knowing the mountain is important.

We've been to les deux alpes 5 times. Once staying at hotel jam session which was an experience to say the least. Never again! I believe it's closed now anyway.

The other times we have stayed at hotel le sherpa which is outstanding.

The half board option gives you a fresh tasty continental breakfast and amazing evening meal.

Rooms are clean and spacious. They've recently refurbished the hotel, added another floor and extended the dining area.

The location of the hotel is as outstanding. A 2 minutes walk to the main gondola and depending on the snow level, you can often skit to about 30m from the hotel.

The runs here are so much fun. Really wide and well groomed.

There's very few green runs so if you're a new skier or boarder, you won't have much choice.

We will be returning again probably in December 2026 and hotel le sherpa will be our home for the week.

If you've not been to les deux alpes, you should go.

Great for Easter skiing due to height of resort and lots of blue slopes up high. Well put together snowparks for various level riders.
Bus system to get you round the resort is good, especially if you are down the hill like we stayed!
