Came to Les 2 Alpes last year right at the end of the season. With being my 2nd time ever skiing and the first ever time for 2 members of our group, we chose the resort for its large ski area and number of beginner-friendly runs.

Despite being end of March - early April, the conditions were great. The groomed slopes were kept really well and we didn't particularly experience any iciness or patchiness. Lower down in the resort there was not a lot of snow. So the roads were all free of snow and the a few of the lower down pistes were closed. This meant we couldn't ski all the way down the mountain (some people could, we just weren't keen on trying a hard blue that we'd never done before after a few Aperols at apres!)

I believe we were there during the Easter holidays but we couldn't really tell. The ski area is vast so none of the slopes were ever extremely busy. We were there at the same time as a few university groups, so apres at Pano Bar and Umbrella bar was lively. We really enjoyed it despite being a few years older than most.

Ski rental and ski school provisions were decent too. We were able to pick up our skis, helmets etc from Skiset Hibernatus the day before our lift passes became valid, and returned the equipment the day after our final day of skiing. We booked lessons for the morning of most of our days on the slopes with a teacher named Nicolo - he was really helpful in teaching us the basics, acknowledging the differing levels in our group, and giving advice on appropriate routes for our days, even when we didn't have a lesson with him.

We stayed in Odalys Résidence L'Ours Blanc. It was fine - we used the pool twice and the sauna once, as we didn't realise we needed to pay and book a slot for it. The room was decent, clean and had a lovely view. The boot room was decent and opened right on to the street within a few minutes walk of Le Diable lift.

Overall, Les Deux Alpes was a great resort for our mixed group of mid-20s beginner skiers.

Loved it! Great wide slopes, loads of variety, beautiful scenes. Good vibes for apres. Didn’t manage to do much speed at the top because of the weather but at the bottom it was great fun.

Great resort. Very high so decent snow even when hadn’t been any fresh snow for a few weeks. Simple resort to get around. Loads of nice bars in the town. Food options on the slopes were pretty limited.

Had a good time, the green and blue slopes were decently clear too even during peak hours and the lifts were all good as well. Apres was good but for the ones up the mountains you had to leave early if you were unable to ski back down as lifts closed early.

Visited with friends for Rise festival... Unfortunately the quality of the snow wasn't great, with the lower slopes getting particularly icy! Of course, we were there early in the season, which will have contributed. Runs were very quiet, especially higher up, likely as most people were there for the festival rather than skiing! Some of the lower slopes/bunny slopes were quite chaotic! As it was a festival, there were plenty of nightlife options. I also found it quite easy to get food (unusual for a vegan in the Alps!). We found some sections of the mountain were closed (presumably due to poor snow cover); I'd consider returning during better conditions to do those runs, but otherwise I probably won't be back.

L2A has always been a favourite for my friendship group. It’s one of the cheaper resorts in France but is no less fun. The apres bars at the with umbrella and Pano are a good laugh as well as the polar bear and the frog in town.

The resort was great!! Not as big as other places I’ve been to, but lovely blue slopes and very accessible for beginners as well. Lots of green runs, all the way from the top of the mountain. Got lucky with weather which improved the overall vibe but amazing apres places both on and off the mountain and loved the “whoops” all over the place!! Wouldn’t want to stay longer than a week (I’d get bored) but amazing town, loved our accom, the food, drink, bakeries, shops and lifts. The blue runs at the top after the T bar lift were my favourite!

I went here as a teacher on a school trip with a group of 50 11/12 year olds. We all had an absolutely amazing time, the slopes were brilliant and varied. There is a new ski lift which is very efficient and fits lots of people in at once. I went as a beginner and ended the week doing blue slopes which I am pleased with. Overall it was a great resort and the ski teachers were fab!

Nice ski resort with a lovely village. Huge vertical drop (though difficult to ski all in one run unless you like cat tracks). Groomers have a tendency to get very icy towards the end of the day, but snow quality is otherwise normally nice. The upper part of the resort is on a glacier, which is novel. Good range of pistes of all ability levels.

Les 2 alpes was a great place to meet new people and the social atmosphere was incredible. The runs were lovely lots of snow and the glacier was gorgeous. A lot of lovely blue and red runs and some more challenging blacks that were always empty. The slopes down at Le Fee were empty and you could really get some speed up without being interrupted by others.

Les deux alps is 100% a place for skiers of all levels. Copious amounts of off piste and extremely steep black runs for your advanced skiers. As well as an abundance of blue runs for your beginner/intermediate level. The resort has and glacier and snow cannons so it’s classed as a snow sure resort. Getting around resorts is easy since they have a bus that runs from 7.15-23.00. (Note numbers on bus change from day time to night time)
Eating out is extremely affordable and everywhere seemed really reasonably prised.

First time skiing. The higher up the better the snow and easier the runs. Good place to learn, lots of green areas higher up the mountain so a beginner could get the full mountain experience.

Awesome resort. Even better if you can time it to go to the festival there.

There’s a bit for everyone. If you’re just starting out it’s perfect and still really good for people wanting to progress.
