What Skiers Say About Les 2 Alpes

Les 2 Alpes attracts a mixed crowd of beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with families and groups of friends in their twenties being common. The high altitude consistently delivers good snow conditions, and the lift system—particularly the new Jandri lift—receives widespread praise for minimal queuing. Reviewers frequently mention the lively après-ski scene at Pano Bar and Umbrella Bar, though opinions on the skiing area size vary, with some feeling the advertised piste kilometres overstate the actual terrain. The lower slopes, particularly the narrow runs back to the village at the end of the day, are repeatedly criticised for being icy, overcrowded, and challenging. Most visitors appreciate the range of restaurants and bars in the town, though some note limited and expensive on-mountain dining options.

We had a good ski holiday in Les 2 Alpes over the New Year’s Day week. The size of the ski area is massive and a huge number of slopes for beginners and intermediates. However, queues for lifts in the mornings were horrendous and on the first two days it took over an hour of queuing to get up the mountain. It was also very icy this time of the year so we avoided many slopes in the shade due to this. The best slopes were on the very top of the glacier but it took over an hour just to get there.

One of the best French resort. Great snow, great ski, good after ski. All inclusive hotel 5minutes from the slopes. Ski hire in the hotel. Really good slopes for beginners and advanced.

Great resort, 3rd time here. The massive selling point is the height of a lot of the skiing, all the way up to 3600m. There is a main gondola lift that takes around 20mins to go up to the top from the resort centre. Main issue for me is the resort is very up and down and you would struggle to spend a whole day on the mountain without coming down to the bottom at some point, not great if you are a quick skier. Very family friendly and a good mixture of easy/beginner runs with a lot of blues and reds and some trickier blacks. Would recommend especially at Easter time when you have an almost certain chance of very decent snow and good weather being in the Southern Alpes!

Excellent ski area high in the alps! Snow conditions were great and the apres choices are very good. Lower down became slightly slushy but only post apres. The town was lively and a lot going on. I would highly recommend.

Me and my girlfriend visited Les deux alpes in the week before Easter. It was nice and quiet with next to no wait time for any lifts. The resort is huge with lots of different runs of different abilities. We are beginner skiers and this was our second time skiing. There are lots of wide blues that are great for building confidence in your beginner phase. I would return again in the future.

Second time skiing here and it was great again. Due to lack of snow early in the season some lower runs were closed but higher up there was great skiing. Would definitely go again

I had loads of fun here on my uni ski trip! it was quite busy but that was in part due to the fact that it was university season. the town is very cute and functional, and our accomodation was right next to the lifts, making it a great ski-in ski-out placement. There were some runs which were more challenging than an average blue or green, and the snow on these runs became slushy because we were near the end of the season, but the reds at the top of the mountain were great, with loads of powder.

Great first family ski experience. Ski school was excellent, slopes were great for beginners and intermediates, we felt we could g st around the mountain pretty quickly with lots of variety. Skiing the glacier was amazing! Visiting at Easter there was no snow at resort level but the ski schools adapted well.

Les Deux Alpes was my 4th ski trip, 3rd in the Alps and probably ranks as my favourite of the 4. As the higher elements are on a glacier the snow and skiing remained amazing throughout the week, despite only one big snowfall on the day we arrived.
Food options were great, lots of classic Savoyard fondue and raclette but also great brunch and fast food options, alongside easily walking distance supermarkets.
The slope and ski run choice was fantastic, although the rating system did seem a bit harsher than other resorts with my beginner - intermediate friends struggling on some of the blue runs, where they’d had no issue at other resorts.
The lift system was the best I’d seen, even early morning daunting looking queues only took around 10 minutes on the main lift up to 2,600m. Would definitely recommend.

First skiing trip so wasn’t sure what to expect. Went as a group of 10. Had a great size apartment with a ski lift and gondola less than 50 yards from where we were staying.
Loved every minute of it.. the slopes, the views, and the apres was all just unbelievable.
Plenty of places to eat and drink and it wasn’t as expensive as I thought it was going to be.
Can’t wait to be able to go again, I am completely addicted.

One of my favourite places due to the accessibility and abundance of what the resort offers. Lovely food options and plenty shops. Pano bar is a lovely stop and the views are incredible. As a snowboarder the green run isnt that good as there is a very flat part near the end which if youve not got the momentum of speed or are a beginner it is very hard to cover the length so have to stop and walk.
Routes are very easy to memorise and there are many different ways to get down the mountain.

Not a huge ski area but enough to keep a large mixed ability group happy. Good for being able to meet up and if a few of the group are a little later out the door. Good apres and food options. Also quite affordable for a french ski resort.
