What Skiers Say About Les 2 Alpes

Les 2 Alpes attracts a mixed crowd of beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with families and groups of friends in their twenties being common. The high altitude consistently delivers good snow conditions, and the lift system—particularly the new Jandri lift—receives widespread praise for minimal queuing. Reviewers frequently mention the lively après-ski scene at Pano Bar and Umbrella Bar, though opinions on the skiing area size vary, with some feeling the advertised piste kilometres overstate the actual terrain. The lower slopes, particularly the narrow runs back to the village at the end of the day, are repeatedly criticised for being icy, overcrowded, and challenging. Most visitors appreciate the range of restaurants and bars in the town, though some note limited and expensive on-mountain dining options.

Had a good time, the green and blue slopes were decently clear too even during peak hours and the lifts were all good as well. Apres was good but for the ones up the mountains you had to leave early if you were unable to ski back down as lifts closed early.

L2A has some amazing restaurants in the valley. A few fun apré bars at the top, middle, and bottom of the slopes. The skiing feels quite limited though, and not many restaurants on the slopes with great views… plenty of bars in the valley. One great Michelin star restaurant at the top of diable.

Fun varied resort, the upper slopes are nice and quiet. However, it really suffers from the chaos of the home run bottle necks with the long one route back to base. Loads of KMs to discover here for the intermediate / advanced piste pirates, but it is referred to as the 'upside down' mountain, due to the wide flatter pistes being near the top, and the lower slopes being more steep, which somewhat explains the busy bottleneck graveyard on the lower runs in the afternoons. The village and resort is nice overall, not the most pretty and a bit touristy, but it manages to hold a charm. I found the people here to be the highlight, I met so many fun, nice, interesting, energetic people in this resort, from season workers to guests, everyone was just on a good vibe. The other major plus, was the ski schools, my partner and I both took separate instruction, I took some private snowboard tutoring with some freestyle mixed in, and she joined level 2 ski school. We both really enjoyed the lessons and had great instructors, definitely recommend lessons if you're thinking about them. I enjoyed this resort, but I'd probably only return for the vibes or a good deal. Some people seemed to love it and say they come back year after year, so perhaps there's more to be seen.

Visited with friends for Rise festival... Unfortunately the quality of the snow wasn't great, with the lower slopes getting particularly icy! Of course, we were there early in the season, which will have contributed. Runs were very quiet, especially higher up, likely as most people were there for the festival rather than skiing! Some of the lower slopes/bunny slopes were quite chaotic! As it was a festival, there were plenty of nightlife options. I also found it quite easy to get food (unusual for a vegan in the Alps!). We found some sections of the mountain were closed (presumably due to poor snow cover); I'd consider returning during better conditions to do those runs, but otherwise I probably won't be back.

Tough week for snow as no fresh snowfall for 3 weeks before hand. Most red and black runs closed as a result. Not icy though - very hard packed snow yes, but not ice. Glacier runs were great quality all week though. Low temps (-20c without wind) meant no freeze thaw so the surface stayed soft and grippy.

Overall, pretty good although resort's a bit dated and we didn't get the best conditions. Highest slopes at 3300m, also Le tunnel and Sarenne were great!
Decent apres ski and dj parties on the slopes. Overall 3.5/5

I went to Les 2 alpes for my first ever snowboard holiday and it was great. 20 years later we decided to return but found it very limited and had covered most of the runs in 3 days.

Apres ski was good but I’ve been to far better resorts.

Not the most budget friendly resort but so many options for food/drink/apres. Accommodation was great and again lots of choice.
Slopes were icy but more reflective of the weather in mid Jan, good snow at the end of the week made for some great skiing. Blue down from Apres does get very icy by the ending most days but well groomed pistes first thing in the morning. Literally no lift queues either.

A very good resort for an intermediate skier but I doubt the grading of some of their blues. At times I was thinking how the hell is this a blue? But, at the same time, it did help by pushing me out of my comfort zone. My experience was probably atypical as I went with UCPA so it’s all inclusive and went during a music festival but I had a very very good time as a result.

The lift efficiency was fabulous, I loved the option of having both sides of the mountain to board on as they both held very different vibes. The option of having the T bar and the underground train to the top point of the mountain was a great idea. Although apre was quieter again having multiple options was good and having umbrella at the bottom meaning you could walk home was top tier. Loads of ski shops, could have more bar options in the resort but enough for a weeks worth. Slopes weren’t overly busy and I would return again.

Great resort. The village is big enough for options but small enough to get around plus the free shuttle around the town is brilliant.

We had lessons with European Ski and Snowboard who were briliant with the whole family.

The lift queues were minimal. I’d say there isn’t a massive amount of skiing for the beginners in the group but all other standards are well catered for. We had a very memorable week in Les 2 Alps and can’t wait to get back there in the future.
