What Skiers Say About Les 2 Alpes

Les 2 Alpes attracts a mixed crowd of beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with families and groups of friends in their twenties being common. The high altitude consistently delivers good snow conditions, and the lift system—particularly the new Jandri lift—receives widespread praise for minimal queuing. Reviewers frequently mention the lively après-ski scene at Pano Bar and Umbrella Bar, though opinions on the skiing area size vary, with some feeling the advertised piste kilometres overstate the actual terrain. The lower slopes, particularly the narrow runs back to the village at the end of the day, are repeatedly criticised for being icy, overcrowded, and challenging. Most visitors appreciate the range of restaurants and bars in the town, though some note limited and expensive on-mountain dining options.

Been a couple of times, once with a school and now with a group of friends. Had two beginners with us who enjoyed the many different beginner magic carpet areas. Though we found the step between magic carpet and a longer slope too hard for them as many greens were closed due to no snow.
We love the resort though, busy and lots going on in the town. No flour douce sadly though

Les 2 Alpes was the perfect destination with children. Fab ski school located at the top of the main lift, guaranteed snow up on the glacier, fabulous apres ski on the slopes and in the village and brilliant restaurants in the evening for family meals out.

We went to Les Deux Alps last week as a family of five with small children. We had a great week with slopes suitable for all abilities. The new Jandri gondola was a massive advantage and meant we could all ski together at times, close to the glacier. Ski school was French and not to the children’s liking! We decided to teach them ourselves in the end after tears! Good but not great Apres but very family friendly restaurants and plenty of them. Good family resort but also suitable for all levels of skier. The glacier and size of the ski area is a huge plus.

Really well maintained, great apres, quiet slopes, lots of off-piste that's accessible, but quite a lot of flat areas that snowboarders wont like!

Just got home from a wonderful week in Les 2 Alpes with my partner who snowboards and our 2 and half year old daughter. It was her first time skiing and the vikings “magic carpet” was the perfect place for her to try. Nice steady slope with a well priced hotel terrace right there. There are also some great reds and blacks over by the Diable/super Diable lift - all pisted well. Mid Jan seems to be a good time to go as the slopes were nice and quiet, short to no queues for lifts and no overcrowding in the resort. We stayed at MMV Les Clarines which was perfect for our toddler. Self catered apartments complex that has an in-house baby club (for a fee), swimming pool and personal ski locker that heats overnight. There’s also a SKISET ski rental shop attached to the accommodation who offer a discount to anyone staying at Les Clarines. It’s a short walk to the lifts on the side of the mountain with the most variety or ski in/out if you ski the opposite side and use the Super Vénosc. Still nice just more blues and greens.

Overall we had a really lovely week and the perfect first ski holiday for our daughter. The resort also has an ice cave at the top of the mountain which my daughter loved! I also enjoyed trying something different.

Had a great time as a beginner skier. Good option of slopes with adequate challenge to them.

Note it's an upside down resort where easiest slopes are higher up and pretty challenging blue coming down to the main resort.

Cheaper than most other resorts, good all rounder location, but does lack more selection of reds. I’d say a good beginner - intermediate resort.

The resort wasn’t too big or too small with easy access to lifts depending on accommodation location. The resort is located in fairly high altitude so we found there to be plenty of snow. The resort also had plenty of activities for non skiers, such as visiting the top of the glacier and seeing a 360 view of the Alpes. Very family friendly and highly recommended resort.

We’ve been to Les Deux Alpes several times, as a couple and also large groups of 20+. The lower runs are crowded and can be quite poor, its best to head to the top for best runs. Best place to eat is The Spot, i go there most days for food. Queues for gondola's were always horrific unless very early. However the new one is now open and should be much better! Fingers crossed!! Good bars and night life too

I love this resort, nice and big, lots of choice for restaurants although we went from Boxing Day to the 3rd and were unable to actually get into any restaurants bar 2 as it was so busy. The Apres ski is amazing, we had a fab time

The resort was great for an intermediate skier considering the time of year and snow conditions. You would struggle with snow coverage as a beginner but the pistes were well maintained and wide to manage crowds. The lifts were excellent with no queues or maintenance issues. Couldn’t really ski off piste due to the early season conditions and there wasn’t any fresh snow. If you like apres ski, it’s the place to go.

Great ski trip! Really enjoyed staying at the resort, more of a family vibe there. Night life could be better but apres was a good laugh.

I’m a beginner/intermediate snowboarder and went to Les 2 Alps with my partner and family. This resort was incredible, plenty of blue runs to choose from that suit all levels of skiers and snowboarders. The town itself is beautiful and offers plenty of places to eat and drink. We were very fortunate with the snowfall for the start of our holiday, offering lots of preferred runs and then enjoying a few blue birds on our last days and enjoying the apres ski!
