What Skiers Say About Les 2 Alpes

Les 2 Alpes attracts a mixed crowd of beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with families and groups of friends in their twenties being common. The high altitude consistently delivers good snow conditions, and the lift system—particularly the new Jandri lift—receives widespread praise for minimal queuing. Reviewers frequently mention the lively après-ski scene at Pano Bar and Umbrella Bar, though opinions on the skiing area size vary, with some feeling the advertised piste kilometres overstate the actual terrain. The lower slopes, particularly the narrow runs back to the village at the end of the day, are repeatedly criticised for being icy, overcrowded, and challenging. Most visitors appreciate the range of restaurants and bars in the town, though some note limited and expensive on-mountain dining options.

Really well equipped resort with versatile slopes. The glacier at the top means blue slopes for beginners are always open and available, and enough moguls and off piste to sink your teeth in.
Snow park is great, and added touch of slalom and boardercross means you cant get bored easily!

Good resort with a range of pistes to cater to different levels. The glacier is a great feature giving incredible views on a clear day.
The one let-down was that when I visited there wasnt any snow down in the village so many of the runs were closed. I know thats not the resorts fault, but still something to consider especially when choosing the time in the season to go.

Overall a solid 4/5 and I would go back later in the season when theres a higher chance of good snow coverage

Great resort for beginners with lots of green and blue runs.

Friendly ski instructors.

Stayed in Le Sherpa hotel which was a great location and half board was very handy to not need to cook evening meals.

Lower runs were a little slushy but still skiable.

Went to rise festival in Les deux alpes had a blast!! Festival was great but skiing not the best. Went in December so snow conditions wasnt great so maybe couldve been to do with that. Not red: black runs were open because of weather so hard to tell

Been a couple times, pistes are ok but a few flat interconnecting pistes that can be a pain on a board.

Village is nice and walkable and lifts work pretty well/fast.

We were a mix group of riders and ability levels but had a great week. Some fantastic long runs. The rum bar on the high street was a good spot. May have been a quiet time of year as there didnt seem to be much Apres ski options.

Fantastic resort with something for everyone both on and off the slopes. Uplift accessible from a number of different locations throughout the town, not too far to walk. Always guaranteed skiing with access to the glacier - prices on the mountain not too bad. Resort friendly and caters for all with a range of eateries/bars/restaurants to suit a range of budgets. Diablo lift end of resort definitely the best for après-ski, great food upstairs at Smithys Tavern, 2024 staff lovely and owner and manager both top blokes with loads of local knowledge. Guinness is poured in a number of venues including an Irish pub, tastes great although creamy head has lots of air bubbles in it - something to do with altitude I believe!! Watch out for the local fire-water aka Génépi!!

Les 2 alpes is a decent resort. After being there 3 times Ive managed to learn the map very well. Most recently lots of runs were closed due to weather however it was very early in the season. Made the most of the apres at pano bar. After previous experience I know the runs can be great. Lots of variety for intermediate skiers. On the resort there are plenty of restaurants and bars to go to. Shout out to le Sherpa and the spot for food and saloon bar for drinks. Overall a decent all rounded resort that has a lot to offer!

This was my first ski holiday and Les Deux Alpes seems to cater for all ski levels. Even if you are a beginner you can go very high up and still go down a green run to the bottom.

The drink and food options are okay on the resort but are expensive, 18 for a jacket potato and 8-10 for a pint of beer

The new Jandri Gondola has been installed in November and takes more people and is quick at getting to the top, allowing you more time on the slopes. I found that I wasnt queuing for very long which was ideal.

There are plenty of blue runs , around 40, which are perfect.

I would recommend this as it was a cheap ski holiday

I went to Les Deux Alpes for the Rise music&ski festival, which i highly recommend its amazing. The little town is great loads of choice for everything you want from shops, groceries, pubs and restaurants. I was mainly skiing the Reds and Blues which were all in really good condition and really fun routes to ski, we went in December and was blessed with really good weather so can only comment on what its like with blue skies and clear visibility. Its an all round great resort with everything you need and want and wasnt too pricey!

Overall not a bad resort, Sadly without realising we booked a week that had a festival so our thoughts of the runs being quiet were quickly proved otherwise. Lots of variation between different runs, sadly not a huge area for off piste when we went, but looking at the terrain it looks like it could be good with a fresh powder dump.

We really enjoyed our week at Les deux Alpes with excellent snow (kept by the shadowed late afternoons) and easy access to a consistently good quality of advanced/intermediate runs right across the mountains and with moguls spread around and not all pisted out.
There was a mixed gondola/chair lift from back of hotel straight up to the heart of matters, with less busy black straight down at night to avoid the busy blue. The lift also took us straight to the helicopter station for c80 day return to Alpe D'huez... an exciting and great value experience and extension to the ski area... though we found ADH more crowded and the snow was worse being more exposed to hot late day sunshine. We had a good mountakn lunch but were glad to be back in Les 2 Aples for the skiing.
Tbe resort was like a proper resort mountain town with a good and varied range of affordable restaurants don't feel worried if going b&B or s/c. Plenty of bars and lots of ski shops spread through the town.
Our hotel(de la Valentine) was simple but comfortable and very friendly. They had a great boot/ski room and they put on various small treats at the bar or entertainments to keep topping up our feeling of being looked after all week.
The saying it is an alp and a half is true in that most skiing is on ine side of the valley but the ability to link giod varied runs around several tops make rhat side excellent. The other is still worth popping over to in the morning for a variation, great view and a nice lunch in the sun
All round a great week.

Visited with a group of skiers of varying skill/ experience and everyone enjoyed themselves. There was plenty to do outside of skiing but we only had 1 really bad weather day. Food is great and variety of places for drinks including pubs, bars and a wine bar. Will definitely be visiting again

I went over new years so it was busy, but that was expected.
The resort was easy to navigate and the runs were nice.
The queues for the main gondola were very long, but we found a route up using chairlifts and easy blues and greens to make the morning more enjoyable.

Really good if you are with a group of mixed abilities. They have a great Apres but I found some of the eating out options slightly lacking. I

A pretty resort but small and not a vast amount of runs. We went for New Years Eve and it was a great atmosphere for the new year.
