What Skiers Say About Verbier

Verbier attracts primarily intermediate to expert skiers and snowboarders, with reviewers consistently noting excellent off-piste terrain, challenging itinerary runs, and a large interconnected ski area across the 4 Valleys. The resort is frequently described as expensive across accommodation, food, and drinks, though many feel the quality justifies the cost. Advanced riders praise the steep mogul fields, tree runs, and backcountry access, while several note limited beginner-friendly terrain. Après-ski receives mixed feedback—some enjoy the bars and nightlife (particularly Farinet and Pub Mont Fort), while others find it less vibrant than expected or note that it happens in town rather than on-slope. Lift infrastructure is generally efficient with short queues outside peak times, though the main Médran lift can be busy during holidays.

Verbier is my favourite resort. It has a big ski area for exploring, quiet runs, amazing off piste to explore and the itineraries. The sun sets on the town so you can always get a sunny apres drink. Worth it every time.

It is very very expensive but staying in le chable and getting the cable car up brings down the cost significantly. Restaurant des grands plans is the best place we found for lunch. It’s on the way back across to Verbier from savoleyres.

I have stayed in this resort every year. Cannot fault it. Some of the best off piste/ itinerary routes about. Most run are quite intense if you used to skiing in France. However it is a very well looked after resort and loved. My favourite for breakfast would be off shore cafe and apres would be lumi or pub mont fort on Wednesdays.

The resort was quiet when we were there. Great snow, great infrastructure. Apres was a bit disappointing but the fact that the mountain is so vast meant that on the days where visibility is low we can go to savolyere and always get good skiing done

Verbier is beautiful. I had the best time. There is a good selection of hotels & air b&b’s close to the ski lifts making it easily accessible. Great choice of ski equipment hire. The slopes are so fun and the scenery exhilarating, fantastic restaurants & super apre ski scene. There was a large group of 25 of us who were well catered for. We loved Le Rouge & Fairnet. So much fun.

Simply the best for challenging skiing. Tortin is the most difficult run in Europe. New Year’s Eve in the square is bonkers fun

Expensive resort but beautiful on the slopes and off, some of the best food I’ve eaten on the mountain (Carrefour restaurant especially), and amazing skiing (especially for expert skiers but something for everyone)

Resort was massive and had more than enough runs for a whole week of exploring, plenty of runs for intermediate to advanced skiers but there’s a lack of easier runs so I would say it’s not very beginner friendly. Some amazing views and food options while on the mountain but there’s not a huge apres culture here. Very busy in February too but I’d more than recommend visiting.

Verbier is a beautiful resort with a large ski area. I have spent a lot of time in Verbier and never get bored of the area. The town is lively and full of people most of the time. It has some really fun pubs and bars for both apres and dancing late into the night, a few favourites being Le Rouge, Farinet, and Pub Mont Fort. As well as lively bars, there is a large range of different types of restaurants and cuisines at different price points, which makes Verbier a great place to go. The bus system within the town is a huge added bonus as wherever your staying you can hop on the free bus and go straight to skiing so not much walking in your ski boots! Up the mountain there is also a large number of restaurants, some self service and some not, meaning the trip can be affordable or you can splash out. I also really like that you can buy a young person's ski pass that gives you a good discount! Finally, another thing I love about Verbier is the itineraries as they are so much fun and give the ski area a nice element of challenge.

One of the best apres and nightlife scenes. Plenty of eating out options (though pretty expensive to do so). Amazing skiing for advanced skiers be it groomed or off piste, but not a resort for beginners. Lifts and infrastructure in resort (i.e. buses) very good and efficient.
Main downside is the price. It is one of the more expensive European resorts.

Highly recommend Verbier for families/ large groups with plenty of chalet accommodation that will cater to all needs. The long runs, on-the-slope dining options, and ease of access to explore multiple resorts, will keep you busy on the mountain all day.

Insane freeride terrain off Attelas, Mont Gele and Mont Fort; long steep thigh burning mogul fields on the itineraries; nice tree skiing in Bruson, La Tzoumaz and the vallon d’Arbi itinerary; favourite pistes: the Jumbo and Plan de Fou red runs. Hidden gem: the Etygeon itinerary and the Rabbit Hutch cocktail bar

Having not skied for many years, it was the perfect place to re find my ski legs. The runs where great, lots of variety for all skiing abilities.

The slopes were not to busy, it was beautiful blue skies and lovely snow.

Prices are not cheap but it is a lovely place to be.

The skiing in December was great, not too icy even in early December due to the altitude and the slopes were very quiet.

We stayed at the other side of the 4 valleys from Verbier and I would definitely recommend this! It was much more quiet and peaceful and much easier to get on lifts etc.
