What Skiers Say About Verbier

Verbier attracts primarily intermediate to expert skiers and snowboarders, with reviewers consistently noting excellent off-piste terrain, challenging itinerary runs, and a large interconnected ski area across the 4 Valleys. The resort is frequently described as expensive across accommodation, food, and drinks, though many feel the quality justifies the cost. Advanced riders praise the steep mogul fields, tree runs, and backcountry access, while several note limited beginner-friendly terrain. Après-ski receives mixed feedback—some enjoy the bars and nightlife (particularly Farinet and Pub Mont Fort), while others find it less vibrant than expected or note that it happens in town rather than on-slope. Lift infrastructure is generally efficient with short queues outside peak times, though the main Médran lift can be busy during holidays.

Verbier is an amazing terrain of 4 valleys providing lots of variety for many exciting days of skiing. Because of the large terrain you will not get bored, nor will you find it too busy, even on weekends. In the 4 valleys there are many different towns where you can stay, each with their own charm. The views from Verbier in the surrounding area of Valais are stunning. Its also possible to access Verbier for day trips from Geneva via the Swiss rail. If you like off piste or ski touring, you can easily find a guide and rent equipment to take you in Verbiers back country. You will not be disappointed!

My aunt lives here and this is where I have always gone to ski. It is very expensive but well worth it. They've got some great black runs, Tortin is one of the most notorious in Europe so it's a great challenge if you're like me, intermediate/advanced and looking to get better. It has also gained some great new bars for some live music in recent years (by that I mean the last 10 years, I'm getting old), the relais is a favourite of mine, the farinet is also a great one (although not so new). It's a pretty friendly place as a rule but just like anywhere else, it's better to avoid during its busiest weeks as the queue at Médran can be long.

Ive skied Verbier 6 times now and will continue to return. There is something for everyone from easy long blues right up to challenging itinerary runs and off piste. Its a friendly resort but is on the pricier side - packed lunch advised!!

Would go back every year if money was unlimited. I absolutely loved Verbier, everything about it was amazing. The slopes were perfect in every way and the apres in the town was amazing, we had a lovely week back in February 2022 and were dying to go back!

Great off piste and yellow intinery runs. Limited options for beginners, only a few blue runs. However the pistes are managed very well and there are some wide reds which are very nice to ski on. Option to enter into different ski areas eg savoleyres but the queue for this lift can be very long in the morning. Generally an expensive resort but with good restaurants. Limited aprés options and at peak times tables need to be booked for in advance. For lunch up the mountain you either need to eat at 12 or 2 and dinner is normally at 7 or 9, which can make your day less flexible.

Verbier is a resort which offers a bit of everything. For beginners to experts theres a slope for everybody.

Due to its insane popularity the pistes and lifts get too crowded but the fast lifts make up for it.

Ive been skiing there since I was 4 and Ill always have Verbier as my home resort.

Was there doing the Warren Smith Ski academy. Great instructors.

Plenty of variety of terrain, lots of challenging slopes, off piste was awesome.

Switzerland in general is expensive, this place is no different.

Plenty of good pubs and bars.

Highly recommend

Good challenging skiing (not great for beginners), and some of the best apres. Only drawback is it's up there with the most expensive resorts.

I lived in and around Verbier for 5 years. It is a great resort if you have serious money. The slopes are good but there is not much for beginners. Food, drink and accommodation are expensive but generally high quality.

Fantastic ski resort with a giant selection of runs. For getting your ski legs back, the gentle blues around La Chaux work a treat, then as you build back, grab the 4 Valleys pass and keep on exploring. If youre looking for off-piste, theres a range of great tree runs over at Bruson, or if you want to get further away from the crowds then shoot up to Mont Gelé (its less scary than it looks!). When the legs are tired, head to bar 1936 near the Mayentzet ski lift for beers with spectacular views of the sunset and frequent live music sets right on the slopes. Bonus tip: if you make it all the way up to Mont Fort (the highest point in the area), you can enjoy Europes high et fondue in the igloo restaurant there, and if the weathers being kind, youll be treated to 360° views across the Alps including Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn.

Verbier is high so gets snow, accessible easily by public transport and road. We skied in La Tzoumas also which had some really nice skiing with in the tree line. Verbier has lots of different types of runs and is a large resort, something for everyone. Its just so expensive, Swiss prices but worth a visit.

Verbier marketing gurus call it the 4-valley place to ski but this report isnt about miles under-feet its more about varied gradients that make you think!!! The piste-de la resistance (sorry about that ;) is the off-piste of which theres lots & challenging should you want to test your ability on all levels enjoy - YOU WILL!!!!!
