What Skiers Say About Verbier

Verbier attracts primarily intermediate to expert skiers and snowboarders, with reviewers consistently noting excellent off-piste terrain, challenging itinerary runs, and a large interconnected ski area across the 4 Valleys. The resort is frequently described as expensive across accommodation, food, and drinks, though many feel the quality justifies the cost. Advanced riders praise the steep mogul fields, tree runs, and backcountry access, while several note limited beginner-friendly terrain. Après-ski receives mixed feedback—some enjoy the bars and nightlife (particularly Farinet and Pub Mont Fort), while others find it less vibrant than expected or note that it happens in town rather than on-slope. Lift infrastructure is generally efficient with short queues outside peak times, though the main Médran lift can be busy during holidays.

Verbier is high so gets snow, accessible easily by public transport and road. We skied in La Tzoumas also which had some really nice skiing with in the tree line. Verbier has lots of different types of runs and is a large resort, something for everyone. Its just so expensive, Swiss prices but worth a visit.

Verbier marketing gurus call it the 4-valley place to ski but this report isnt about miles under-feet its more about varied gradients that make you think!!! The piste-de la resistance (sorry about that ;) is the off-piste of which theres lots & challenging should you want to test your ability on all levels enjoy - YOU WILL!!!!!

a clean enjoyable resort. We where a bit unlucky with the snow but still managed to ski every day We found the food and drink rather expensive so chose to self cater most days when we did eat out the food was really nice but at over £10 a pint rather expensive local busses where good

Verbier is fantastic for long runs, pretty snow sure because of the altitude, and great itinerary routes (make sure you know avalanche risk and ski safely). Atmosphere, food & apres are great, although expensive. Chocolate-box prettiness even with a lot of modern chalets/appartments, which have to be built in a certain style. South-facing village, so good for beers at the end of the day in the warmer weather. Possible to escape the crowds at busy times by skiing less-known areas (eg Savoleyres and Bryson). Ex-ski instructor with Swiss Ski School. & my favourite resort!

Skied here for decades, of late the artificial snow has expanded very much reducing the chance of rocks on Pistes

Lift capacity increases have massively reduced congestion in busy periods

Ski Bruson when there is a white out, lot of untracked snow can be found here

If learning off piste Savalares has lot of easy access areas between pistes

Be aware that Verbier reds can be similar to black runs in other resorts and blacks are generally more difficult especially in less than ideal conditions, that said its a delight for capable skiers

Probably the best lift served in bounds freeride terrain in the world! It's the home of the freeride world tour for a reason. And the piste skiing is pretty exceptional too. With a full 4 vallee lift pass you can ski a whole day without skiing the same run twice.

Very family friendly resort. Not many easy runs for beginners. A phenomenal resort for off piste and black/yellow runs. The mogul fields are a great leg burner and the run from Mont fort to Tortin is a must for improving skill and genuine fun. Love it!

This resort is incredible, everything comes at a high cost but this is due to the high quality of everything. The slopes mainly target more experienced skiers but they do have some more forgiving slopes for beginners. The apes ski is awesome but like I said it comes at a high cost! Would highly recommend this resort for a luxury and ski heavy trip.

Very good resort however very expensive. Piste's are very well groomed and there is a lot of terrain to ski. Off-piste options are mogul fields are extensive and ski school is very good. Great for big groups and families. Apre-ski not as good as some other resorts but a lot of bars and restaurants to visit in the town.

Went to the resort in April so snow was a bit thing but the resort had looked after the slopes that were open really well and made everything a good as good be! The resort was so clean and there is plenty of places to eat, drink and party!! Mont four pub had a great happy hour between 4-5pm recommended highly! Overall I really enjoyed my first time snowboarding in Switzerland and have already booked to go back next year

This is a big mountain skiers paradise. The terrain is epic with some big mountain access right on your doorstep.
Where it lets itself down in the piste skiing. The resort is poorly set out which major choke points leaving huge queues.
The standard of skier in Verbier is high so its not that friendly to those just learning.
The town has a fun atmosphere if you go to the right places. There is also a smarter side to the town but they keep themselves more separate.
Really wanted to hate this place due to the stereotype but fell in love with it instead. There is a charm to it that you dont find anywhere else.

Ive done 5 seasons and skied in 8 different resorts and by far the highest level of skier Ive encountered is in Verbier. Its an expert resort really with some of the best off piste in the world which can be accessed from the tops of chair lifts with minimal hiking required.

Large ski area, beautiful scenery, with three other valleys to explore, connected by lifts although some are quite slow and clunky and could do with an upgrade.

Some decent apres which takes place in town rather than up the mountain so the wobbly ski home - for better or worse - isnt really an option. But theres some really fun bars quite tightly packed so lots of fun to be had.

Good quality mountain restaurants and a decent range of bars and restaurants in town. Good shopping.

Very good high-end chalets and hotels with spars, not sure about more budget options.
