What Skiers Say About Verbier

Verbier attracts primarily intermediate to expert skiers and snowboarders, with reviewers consistently noting excellent off-piste terrain, challenging itinerary runs, and a large interconnected ski area across the 4 Valleys. The resort is frequently described as expensive across accommodation, food, and drinks, though many feel the quality justifies the cost. Advanced riders praise the steep mogul fields, tree runs, and backcountry access, while several note limited beginner-friendly terrain. Après-ski receives mixed feedback—some enjoy the bars and nightlife (particularly Farinet and Pub Mont Fort), while others find it less vibrant than expected or note that it happens in town rather than on-slope. Lift infrastructure is generally efficient with short queues outside peak times, though the main Médran lift can be busy during holidays.

Verbier is a resort for intermediates and above mostly. Lots of delicious red runs and of course the blacks and itinerary slopes (yellow) for the mogul fields.

Plenty of choice for après and of course some of the best restaurants for fondue in the sun, mine include carrefour et chez dani!

Verbier has something for everyone, World renowned for it's off piste, there are Itinerary runs - marked in yellow on the piste maps, these are technically off piste but are avalanche controlled and patrolled making them a safer and slightly more friendly introduction to the world of skiing off piste.

The accommodation options range from 5 star catered chalets / hotels down to self catered Airbnb's.

Apres has several options, Pub Mont fort as a staple and happy hour's well worth it. followed by Farinet with it's live music and opening roof to let the steam out. if clubbing ins't your vibe then there are plenty of bars such as Lumi Bar or Big Ben, both near the main Medran lift in the centre of town.

Sushi, Sushi at 1500 meters was a new on on me but Aiseki has now been frequented every time I've stayed in Verbier and we look forward to it every time we're in town. The spinach in sesame dressing is an unexpected standout on the menu.

Getting to Verbier couldn't be easier, it's an easy drive, failing that fly to Geneva and catch the train to the bottom of the valley and get the lift up.

it's well worth a visit - to the point we visited in July too, it's just as great in the summer!

I am obsessed with this place. It’s near perfection to me in every sense bar the price. Ski pass isn’t too bad for u25 but everything else is very expensive. Saying that, if you can afford ut this place is a dream. Great ski area. Delicious restaurants. Amazing apres and night life. Easy access around town with the free bus.

One of the best ski resorts, mostly quiet and made for skiers rather than beginners or people looking for apres.

The Gondolas and lifts are slow and the connection between different mountains isn’t great. Slopes were a bit icey due to weather conditions this season

Stunning resort, huge area, something for everyone. And while a bit crowded near Verbier, further areas of 4 Valleys are quiet and easy to reach

My fifth time at this magical resort and it never gets old. So much to get at across the four valles in terms of piste and some exceptional itineraries. Very boutique apres at places like La Rouge and Lumi (not your massive bars) favourite stop on the way down the mountain has to be 1936. Views across the valley are exceptional and super accessible from Geneva. Not too much in terms of beginner terrain if that’s what you’re looking for.

I enjoyed verbier but it was huge that we had to move around. They didn’t have a green slope and the blue wasn’t very easy for beginners. Night life was dead

This resort is amazing for people who love off piste skiing and more difficult terrain. The town is great as well with lots of restaurant options including amazing sushi and Italian restaurants. There is no après ski on the mountain but you can visit Farinet for live music every day!

Took the whole family, from first time skier to advanced. Perfect for everyone. Can definitely get pretty slushing on the lower slopes, but that’s to be expected in early April, and plenty of great runs up the mountain.

Verbier is always a lot of fun! Lots of variety and good snow! Make sure you arrive early because the line at the bottom can get slow. The village is very dynamic and easy to naviguate with public transport.

Verbier is an amazing resort for experienced skiers, not so much beginner friendly. Limited snow parks with only box and rail features, as well as a small jump and rollers. However, there are many great off piste runs and handmade kickers/side hits that can be found near the groomed slopes. Taking the lift up to Mont Fort at 3330 meters you can find one of the best, steepest, mogul runs with stunning views. Visited in the end of December to beggining of January and it hadn’t snowed in 7 weeks so no powder, but vast majority of slopes were still open and in great condition.
