Have been back to this resort a few times now and love it. Highly recommend it. We had kids in ski school which they loved. It's a great family or friends resort. Good runs for all levels of abilities.

Poor snow coverage, very icy, due to a windy week all connections to sestriere were closed and other local areas, very limited skiing due to this

Just a boss time, can even take a trip to go watch juventus play if timed correctly. Apres ski really good mainly around the bottom of the slopes so no chance of straight back to the hotel.

I have been to Sauze for the last 8 years and have found it very friendly in all areas. The resort lends itself really well to beginners and intermediates. Having the sportinia plateau also helps when you have a few people in your party as you are always bumping into each other at sportinia. Drinks and food is readily available on the mountain. The apres ski life in the village is also really nice and friendly.
I would truly recommend this resort to anyone

Sauze is nearly the perfect ski resort for me - the big pluses are the quaint town , the nice bars and not too pricey, there is a fab takeaway pizza place and its Italy so stylish and relaxed. Downside is the Clotes chairlift - it starts too late - why not start this at 8.45 to reduce queues and it is slow; there is a ski shuttle bus to Sportinia chairlift that ideally would be free but is 10 Euros - the pfaff is keeping your ticket handy. The links to the other resorts in Via Lattea (Milky Way)close far too easily/often and it would be great if there was a ski bus to say Cesana at bottom of San Sicario and free ski busses when the link to top of Mont Fraiteve linking the Via Lattea is shut as getting back to Sauze you have the dreaded two parallel long draglift - if there was a chairlift to the top that would be fab and also the deadly slow 2 man chair from Sauze to top of Sestriere/San Sicario makes you freeze and puts you off doing the Blacks apart from on transit - Cote Faure chairlift needs to open as this opens up Genevris. Sestriere has better snow as higher up, but evening it is dull and Sauze has some free food bars for Apres. Sauze has to be good as this is my third year going back and been to Sestriere too 0- with a family San Sicario/Cesana would be good location and is perfect location within Via Lattea biut no nightlife apart from in hotel. One other thing would be to add a couple of newer quick chairlifts in Sauze to create more runs as views and restairants are superb. Liftpasses are good value and I much prefer here to the 3 Valleys as there are lots of tree lined slopes and Claviere is lovely too.

Great resort for good advanced skiers and boarders. Abondance of tree line wide open but challenging red pistes. Efficient lift system of mostle 2-4 man chairs that moved quickly and were in good places to fully explore the area. The actual village is set within the mountain and a lot of the roads were quite steep so if your not right in the centre of town than a car is very useful. Transfer time to Sauze is very reasonable from the northern Italian airports

There was lots of variety to the skiing and it's a big area but it's a bit of a slog to get to montgenevre with a gondola down then three slow chairs. The restaurants on the hill were good value for money, we had new snow at the end of the week and the opened up a new area in sauze which was good. Sometimes there was a bit of poling between lifts which wasn't handy. Overall a very good value week.

Some interesting runs and access to more valleys plus day trips over the border to france.
Blue runs were often on the more difficult side (narrow and often icy) compared to france.
Powder was inconsistent and high winds can shut down access to sections of runs.
Nightlife suits quiet meals in the town with little by way of late night music.
White bear on the mountain is a great lunch spot but can get busy as its the main hub. No real apres on the mountain.

Great resort village, lots of bars & restaurants. Skiing area large but mainly reds, not so good for beginners, links to 400km + on the vialattea , can ski over to France. Good prices up mountain, challenging skiing on & off piste

It was very beginner and family friendly! Less slopes for more advanced skiers (difficult blacks and higher).

A great resort and lovely for families. The snow was poor in January but the Apres ski made up for this. A great atmosphere, there was live music and good places to eat and generally have fun. Lifts were okay and when conditions are good, there is a huge area to ski the Milky way. Would return in a heartbeat but would need to ensure there was plenty of snow first. March was a better month (Skied proviously in this month) A great all round resort, value for money.
