What Skiers Say About Cervinia - Breuil

Cervinia attracts intermediate and advanced skiers drawn to high-altitude, snow-sure terrain with wide, well-groomed red runs and access to Zermatt via the lift connection. Reviewers consistently mention reliable snow conditions, quiet pistes, efficient lift systems, and good-value Italian restaurants both on-mountain and in the village. The resort suits families and those seeking relaxed skiing over lively nightlife, with après described as limited but friendly. Wind is frequently cited as an issue, often closing upper lifts and the Zermatt link. Most users note the resort is better suited to skiers than snowboarders due to flat sections, and some mention a lack of challenging terrain on the Italian side alone.

Was a really enjoyable place to ski. Plenty of variety in runs and easy for skiers of differing abilities to stay together and challenge everyone.

Loved that you had access across to Switzerland but the cheapness of staying in the Italian side.

Cervinia was lovely, plenty of great Italian food and a decent apres scene. Not the most party place but good for a few beers after a day on the slopes.

Very expensive day pass. Good runs to main gondola and restaurants more typical of France than Italy.

Wide groomed pistes that sit on the sunny side of the mountain, so beautiful on a blue sky day. Plenty of beginner and intermediate runs making it a perfect spot for family and children. Didnt experience any lift queues in mid Jan.
Piste names are primarily by numbers and colour on the piste map making identification and memorising routes a little difficult. A route red 6 and red 6.0 are different pistes as well, adding further to the difficulty in recognising which path was the planned way to go.
This ski resort is connected to the Swiss side to Zermatt with an extra fee on the lift pass. Skiing to Zermatt on red intermediate runs is possible but returning to Cervinia requires the large gondola to be operating so watch out for bad wind and weather!
The red 7 piste from Cervinia to Valtournenche is so beautiful with vast views of the mountains.
Watch out that there are squat toilets in various mountain restaurants a hark back to the past.

Me and my fiance were first time skiers in such a big resort. We skied 2-3 times in Romania and we wanted to try a bigger ski resort in the Alps. Cannot say how great our experience was. Starting from accomodation, food, ski lifts( I was impressesd by how many ski lifts are there), hundrends of km of slopes for begginers and intermediate skiers like us. As the resort is so big, we chose to go this year again, as we want to see the most of the resort. Plus, whats even greater is that you can ski on Zernat Switzerland aswell, as its right at the border there and buying an international ski pass would get you there. Thats what were going to fo this yearzCannot express myself for off piste or anything as we havent tried anything like that yet.
People were friendly in the area, you have big supermarkets in the area.
Would 100% recommend this resort to anyone( begginner, intermediate, advanced).
Would 100% choose this ski resort for family trips when babies would come.

With the longest ski run in Europe and the Matterhorn whats not to love. Ski in ski out the norm here too. Ski into Zermatt for lunch stopping at the Moet bar on the way. Heaven.

Cervinia has some epic red runs and is a beautiful mid-sized resort. The only negative for me is the potential to have high winds closing ski lifts which can make the lower runs quite busy and icy. The mountain food/beer spots are excellent and Id love to go back in the future and use the link to Zermatt which was sadly closed due to weather when I visited.

Simply the best in Italy because for those who want to ski, there are fantastic and varied slopes, perfect and always very abundant snow, flawless preparation, lifts that are gradually being renovated, and plenty of kilometers to ski.

Having grown up going to this ski resort and learning to ski here from the age of 4, I can definitely argue that it is suitable for all ages. The slopes are enjoyable to ski on, providing both challenges and easy options for those beginning to learn. With access to the nearby resort in Zermatt, Switzerland and plenty of Apres Ski places, its a resort thats not short of fun. However, it certainly is a ski resort on the pricier side, particularly for nice accomodation and meals/drinks.

Having visited Cervinia twice now, this is a great resort mostly for beginner and intermediates with relatively few black runs. Its high altitude position is great for snow reliability from Dec to May and lift systems were amazing, provided its not too windy. The apre on the slopes is good with the likes of Love, the twin is quaint with lots of nice dining options, and being in Italy the wine is amazing, but be prepared to wrap up by 10pm. If the weather is good its well worth a trip across to Zermatt which gives you a 16km uninterrupted ski down. Equally skiing back from the top of Planta Rosa is an epic ski back with non stop skiing for over 23km down back into Cervinia Valtournenche a real treat!
