We stayed a week in Cervinia and the skiing was outstanding. I would highly recommend pre booking an air bnb in Zermatt for at least one night, to give you a chance to really make the most of the slopes over there. I always felt rushed when we were in Zermatt as the lifts are a bit slow and any change in weather and they close the big lift that takes you to the top which is the only one that can get you back to Cervinia. Stunning place to ski, highly recommend.

Cervinia is a fantastic resort, a hidden gem in my eyes. Fantastic slopes, a niche but great apres scene and some brilliant restaurants too. Much better than the overpriced overcrowded resorts in France.

Quite a small town and small apres bar but still very pretty. Very easy to get to get onto lifts in the morning. Although apres bar small, still fun and dancing on the bar. It does get cold very quickly because the sun goes behind the mountain early. Good mix of runs although i wouldn’t take beginners here. Harder skiing on the swiss side if you get a pass for both areas. We got the last lift to the top of the mountain and skiied all the way down, make sure you don’t miss the turning back to cervinia at this time of the day becauae otherwise you’ll end up with a very expensive cab drive home from the swiss side. Very high resort so does make you a little out of breath at times.

Amazing conditions very few people early in the season. Ski right onto the chair or gondola. Great snow.

This was the best ski hill I have ever visited. We had the view of Matterhorn on every run on the hill. The runs were spectacular and so much fun. I would 100% recommend.

This resort has some stunning vistas when arriving at the peak on the border of Switzerland. While sharing an extensive lift network with Zermatt, this area is often overlooked . The extremely long and undulating groomed runs on a clear day are a dream to carve and if you’re lucky you can witness some of the local ski teams practicing their moves in sync. The Apres if not to be missed as the food arrives at a crossroad of Italian/Siss-German. Like many resorts in Europe, exercise caution when skiing off-piste (which is anything not marked as a groomed run). Either trust in your own skill and look out for hidden hazards or take a local guide who can find you the powder you’re looking for.

Easy resort but good access to Zermatt. High and good snow so good for early and late season. Much cheaper than the Swiss side.

I’ve been to Cervinia many times and love the long runs, particularly the run down to Zermat, which was black and is now a red (my advice, don’t stop for a coffee before you get down or it’s a uphill walk!). As a single skier, I was lucky enough to meet and ski with a multi-national group last time and it was an excellent week! The town is not the prettiest and very few hotels are ski in/out but the pistes are varied from gentle to challenging. There is a top to bottom 16k if you string it together well. The challenge is 16 minutes… if you don’t meet a ski school! The weather can be vicious, as anywhere, but the views of the Matterhorn from the Gornergrat are unforgettable on a sunny day. Enjoy!

First time beimg to the Alps for skiing and it was spectacular. Beautiful views everywhere and so much space you'll still be skiing groomed snow by the afternoon.

Stayed for the week, great if you want Zermatt resort but the Italian ski culture and a less pretentious atmosphere compared to Zermatt.

A great way to ski over to Zermatt without having to pay the expensive Swiss prices. Not always possible depending on the wind and snow conditions but highly recommended. Cervinia itself has a wide range of runs and offers good skiing for all levels. It's a pretty town and we had a great skiing holiday.

Great for long runs in both Italy and Switzerland. Mostly wide slopes and quiet in general. On piste mountain restaurants on Italian side great quality and well priced. Snow quality always good here but can be windy at the higher slopes due to altitude.

Really great resort and fairly easy to get to. Lots of slopes to explore and the pistes are generally quiet and well maintained.

High snowsure area with mostly blues & reds. Sunny, but when the wind blows it closes down - be careful of venturing over into Zermatt for the more challenging runs. Wide variety of hotels, good food & drinks in resort & on the mountain. Quiet apres ski as it's Italy but great bombardinos!

As a (lowish) intermediate, travelling with my teenager (total beginner) and girlfriend (expert / instructor) we found Cervinia to be a good all round resort, catering for our differing abilities, plus snow sure given its altitude and also offering some charm esp in the village area. A little cheaper too than many other French, Austrian and Swiss resorts.

An excellent snow sure resort. Great snow and powder in April. 3 ski areas including info Zermatt, so lots of variety. Terrific views skiing under the Matterhorn. Warm Italian hospitality meets the super efficient, friendly Swiss.

Cervinia is my favourite resort - it is isnt too busy and has an abundance of runs since you have direct access to all of Zermatt as well as Cervinia. Food and drink is good value and the locals are super friendly. The Apres scene isnt huge but everyone goes to the same few places creating an intimate and lively vibe. The resort is high so the season is long and you are likely to have decent snow.

Snowsure resort and snow was excellent in March fresh snow almost every night for a week.
Mainly red runs wide and quiet. Lots of mountain bars & restaurants of good quality. We stayed above the main town so not too much experience of the town centre as a bus ride away but there seemed a good selection of bars, restaurants and ski shops. You can ski to Zermatt if weather is suitable and lifts all open as long as you have the relevant pass. Views of the Matterhorn are amazing. Our first visit to Italy with 2 teenage snowboarders who loved the fresh powder and the snowpark.

Ive stayed in cervinia on two occasions now (2022 and 2025). Its a beautiful resort and had the advantage of you being able to ski the Italian side of the Matterhorn but also the Swiss side down to zermatt so you get to ski Switzerland but for a much beeper price than staying at the other side of the mountain. Therefore the range of skiing is pretty good. Im recovering from injury so focused on blues and reds this year and there are plenty, especially if you ski over to Valtourneche. Weather can be unpredictable and cervinia is known for its wind but if the wind is high in cervinia itself you can still get on the slopes by getting a bus to valtourneche so wont miss a day. The lift system is great with relatively few queues and the bottom gondola and telecabine at the base station are usually no more than 15 mins at peak time. There are lots of lovely mountain cafes and there is a growing apres scene on the mountain now in addition to the report where bars like the yeti and Linos are well known for the apres. There are lots of lovely shops in the resort so if you need a day off, there is plenty to wonder around. Le Grotto and the Cime Bianci are probably my favourite little spots to eat with beautiful food, wine and traditional Italian atmosphere. Ive stayed in apartment and hotel accommodation and both were great options. I would definitely recommend it as a resort and will be returning again!
