What Skiers Say About Cervinia - Breuil

Cervinia attracts intermediate and advanced skiers drawn to high-altitude, snow-sure terrain with wide, well-groomed red runs and access to Zermatt via the lift connection. Reviewers consistently mention reliable snow conditions, quiet pistes, efficient lift systems, and good-value Italian restaurants both on-mountain and in the village. The resort suits families and those seeking relaxed skiing over lively nightlife, with après described as limited but friendly. Wind is frequently cited as an issue, often closing upper lifts and the Zermatt link. Most users note the resort is better suited to skiers than snowboarders due to flat sections, and some mention a lack of challenging terrain on the Italian side alone.

Stated at the wonderful Hotel Marmore which is 200 metres from slopes. The rooms were lovely and ski themed and the breakfast area was so alpine and gorgeous views of the slopes. The skiing and snowboarding was fabulous we also ate out at local restaurants which we couldn’t fault. The transfer time from Turin is about 1.5 hours and we took a private transfer which cost £150 each way.

Cervinia is pretty chill - no lift lines or barging and great slopes with a strong free-ride culture.

It's high, so it's snow-sure, but that does mean it can be windy and cold, especially with wind chill.

The link over to Zermatt closes with high wind, but the app always shows the status.

We visited Cervinia during the UK school holidays in Feb 2024. We found the resort to be busy, but not crowded. As with most resorts, once you get away from the first lifts of the day, then the queues are much better.
Great varied terrain in Cervinia, with plenty to keep everyone occupied throughout the week.
We visited as a large group, spread out over multiple accommodation options, that had a wide range of ability levels. No one was bored during our trip.
We also spent a couple of days skiing the runs in Zermatt, which was also a great experience.
Just watch out for the wind though, as this can pick up in moments notice. On our first day, we only had a handful of lifts operating due to the wind speeds.

Simply the best ski are in the world in my opinion. Senior skier now but I've skied every major resort in Europe. This shares Zermatt. Need I say more?

Lift queues not too long so plenty of time to ski. Superb views of the Matterhorn which looks completely different from the Italian side. Spectacular scenery. Opportunity to ski over to Switzerland if not too windy where the views are even better. Just amazing skiing against the backdrop of the Matterhorn. Much cheaper to be based in Italy because everything is so expensive in Switzerland.

Amazing for long, wide and open pistes with exceptional views. Fresh snow made conditions amazing. The link to Zermatt was only open 1/3 days, but managed to get over to the Swiss side on that day. Skiing under the Matterhorn was incredible!

Great lift system, with some chair lifts with heated seats! However, if you want to ski over to Zermatt, you need to upgrade your lift pass, which is very expensive.

Had such a wonderful Christmas here with friends and my husband.

There was plenty of fresh snow while we were there and they already had a great base so would say it's a safe bet for Christmas/early season skiing.

Such a reasonably priced place to go - hotels, restaurants and lift prices all really affordable as far as ski resorts go!

Cervinia is a great resort overall with loads of long, wide pistes and solid snow.
Skiing is chilled and scenic, and getting over to Zermatt is a big bonus and well worth doing.
Après is pretty limited though, quiet and not much going on in the evenings.
Feels much more suited to older people and families than anyone after a lively scene.

One of the best ski resorts I have been at so far. Many ski lifts and gondolas that lead to beautiful wide slopes with amazing view.
Perfect for all levels.
Lots of snow since very high up and the city of Cervinia offers great hospitality in terms of restaurants, après-ski and hotels with spa.

Cervinia is an outstanding destination for skiers of all levels, especially those who love wide, open slopes and breathtaking alpine scenery. Located at the foot of the iconic Matterhorn, the views are simply spectacular and create a truly unforgettable backdrop for every run. The resort is known for its long, gentle pistes, making it ideal for beginners and intermediate skiers, while still offering plenty of challenging terrain at higher altitudes. Thanks to its high elevation, snow conditions are generally reliable throughout the season, and the extensive lift system keeps queues to a minimum even during busy periods.

One of Cervinia’s biggest highlights is its connection to Zermatt, allowing skiers to cross between Italy and Switzerland in a single day – a unique and memorable experience. The village itself has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere with a good selection of restaurants, bars, and cafés, offering excellent Italian food at more reasonable prices than many Swiss resorts. Après-ski is enjoyable without being overwhelming, making Cervinia perfect for those who want a laid-back mountain vibe. Overall, Cervinia delivers fantastic skiing, stunning views, and great value for money, making it a top choice for a winter getaway.

Firstly - we didn’t use the ski schools and I don’t drink beer! All slopes were very well groomed every morning. Good door step skiing. Great being able to ski over to Zermat. Some great restaurants esp the steak place. I would like to go back and stay at the Principe delle Nevi FLOR… good food and great staff! Overall great for beginners to intermediate - could do with some more challenging black runs.
