What Skiers Say About Morzine
Morzine attracts a broad mix of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with families and groups of friends commonly mentioned. Reviewers consistently highlight the resort's location within the Portes du Soleil area, offering easy access to Avoriaz, Les Gets, and a large variety of terrain. The town itself is praised for being a real Alpine town with numerous bars, restaurants, and shops, and the free shuttle bus service is frequently noted as efficient. Snow conditions receive mixed feedback, with lower altitude slopes sometimes suffering from lack of snow or becoming slushy, though higher areas like Avoriaz are noted as more snow-sure. Après-ski options and value for money are generally well-regarded, though some mention the resort can get busy during peak periods.

A brilliant place to be even if you don't partake in winter sports.
The skiing like all of France is fairly piste focused with powder days few and far between but the runs are a great combination of windy, wide, mogul, narrow and long runs, which will keep you entertained all week.
The resort is good for beginners with long repeatable blue runs dotted throughout the resort and for those more advanced there are great connections up to avoriaz and over the Chatel where the skiing only gets better.
For the best skiers there are a number of good off piste areas to consider tackling and difficult black runs such as the Swiss wall which is not for the feint hearted.
My favourite thing about Morzine is the number of mountain bars with amazing views when the sun is shining (which is often the case), perfect spots for a post ski pint!
Morzine is one of my favourite resorts in the alps and I will continue to visit for as long as the legs keep up with the skis!!
On the slopes, the frequent bottlenecks at lifts are frustrating - often meaning you have to cut your day tours short to be sure of getting home via piste not taxi.
Off the slopes, the free ski bus is all too often like a sardine tin to the point of being dangerous - and it needs to run much later on during the evening (which would help reduce the end of day crushes and get to bars and restaurants in the evening). Many other resorts do ski bus services much better.
Food options on the mountain and in the town good. Lots of UK people have chosen Morzine for holiday homes and we always bump into someone we know.
Other high altitude resorts very close by and very close to Geneva. We also drive out there and stop at different places along the way and way back.
First flight out in the morning means you can be on the slopes by lunch time.
Options of different areas eg avoriaz
Great town bus service to hop on and off.
Lockers at main gondola station.
Great bars and restaurants.
Down sides- not snow sure in village,
Transferes are getting more expensive but all in all a fantastic resort
