Great resort, but this year the buses have declined.
Very busy in Avoriaz, and Les gets there’s not been enough snow

Morzine is good for family skiing, not too challenging. THe town is a great "real" town with plenty of eating out and shopping options. Connected Avoriaz is more snow sure with more challengin ski options. They are both connected to the huge Portes du Soleil ski area with plenty to keep you busy for a long time.

Morzine is central to the 2 main areas of PDS so easy to ski in Les Gets or Avoriaz/chatel regardless of where your accommodation is. At most it would be a 10 minute bus to the furthest lift option. Lots of intermediate run options with enough advanced to keep you busy. The lift system and app is a bit outdated compared to Tignes/3V etc but not awful.

Morzine is a great resort as you have two mountains you can access so even with bad weather on one you’re still likely to have decent weather on the other. Great apres AND there’s a folie douce in Avoriaz.

Pistes well groomed and snow cannons when limited snow fall, but great powder when it did snow, catering service at some mid stations was lacking, but this was certainly only some and not all. As a lone female skier I felt more than safe on lifts and pistes. Lots of great blues to get you from top to bottom. The follie du golf run was very mogul covered after a few hours at the bottom by the lift where a couple of runs meet and covered in panicked beginners to dodge!

Had a great week skiing. Morzine has basically everything you could ask for. It's a real gem in the Portes du Soleil, blending authentic Savoyard charm with epic skiing. The tree-lined runs are perfect for intermediates, and the après scene at Bar Robinson is legendary. It is an absolute must-visit for any skier.

Really love morzine. It has a fantastic range or slopes and easy lift access to avoriaz for more advance skiers. Unfortunately there was no much snow when we went in late Feb 2025 but have been many times before. It’s family friendly but also has great apres ski for adults

We stayed in an apartment that was linked to the Hotel Champs Fleuris, which is right next to the Pleney lift. Hotel food and facilities were excellent. The town was just a few minutes walk away and has plenty of shops, bars and restaurants, good Apres is everywhere.
Top tip when skiing on the Morzine/Les Gets side, call into the La Petite Ourse bar on the Nabor slope (only a small place), excellent burgers and his home made rum is to die for.
Give yourself a few days to get around the Avoriaz side of the mountain as its a lot bigger than you might think. We missed quite a bit...
The skiing was great though, one of our best trips actually (6 blokes on a lads beano). Package deal, so everything in place. I'd go back there, no worries.

Had a great time in Morzine last week, still feeling it today.

The skiing on the portes du soleil was fantastic, such a large ski area with so many options for any type of skier. I even managed the Swiss wall which required new pants afterwards.

Didn’t get much experience in the town as we were self catered and had a large group in a chalet, but access to the lifts via walking or busses was really easy. Apres on and off the mountains was fantastic.

Not sure if it was just the time of year, but it felt so quiet. The longest we had to wait for a lift was 10 minutes, and that was the end of the day lift up to Folie Douce.

I felt like it wasn’t too expensive, for a ski resort. Go in expecting London prices and you won’t be disappointed.

Had a great time in Morzine, although didn’t really get to explore the town much as we were in a big group in a large chalet.
The skiing on the portes du soleil was fantastic, with so much to choose from - I didn’t even get close to completing the whole ski area which makes me excited to return to it in the future.

I was so surprised how quiet the slopes were, particularly around morzine. The usual flock of people at Folie Douce at the end of the day was the busiest area I saw.

Prices were reasonable (for a ski resort) as well, I’d say on par with London prices.

Great place! Lots of blues for beginner skiers. Apres bars playing live music from 4pm, including DJs (Tremplin) and bands (cavern club).
Also head to the Folie Douce for an afternoon in avoriaz! (Get full area lift pass and go up the super morzine lift)

Porte du Soleil skiing area has so many options and you can ski somewhere different every day for the week. The new Tremplin at the bottom of the Pleney slope is perfect for Apres, with a moving dance floor, a slije to the toilets and a disco toilet!! Les Halles des Comptoir and Dixies have a great vibe for drinks and L'Etale has amazing food.

Lovely wide slopes but rather busy but this was during half term
Beginner ski school slope situated at bottom of very popular blue run so made it quite hard to navigate for little skiers , lifts modern and fast didn’t queue for long time even when busy overall experience very good but as expected food / drink expensive

Morzine is a big busy town,, plenty of accommodation options and we felt good food and drink options at fair prices
However in December snow was lacking and all the runs into the village were closed
Meant that up top was v repetitive and we escaped to les gets often which had much more runs open/ available
If I was going to PDG again we would go to Les gets often which
Avoriaz is great but a hassle to get up there
