What Skiers Say About Morzine

Morzine attracts a broad mix of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with families and groups of friends commonly mentioned. Reviewers consistently highlight the resort's location within the Portes du Soleil area, offering easy access to Avoriaz, Les Gets, and a large variety of terrain. The town itself is praised for being a real Alpine town with numerous bars, restaurants, and shops, and the free shuttle bus service is frequently noted as efficient. Snow conditions receive mixed feedback, with lower altitude slopes sometimes suffering from lack of snow or becoming slushy, though higher areas like Avoriaz are noted as more snow-sure. Après-ski options and value for money are generally well-regarded, though some mention the resort can get busy during peak periods.

Absolutely love Morzine been a number of times and will continue to come back. It’s perfect for every level. You have Morzine and ski to Les Get and back and then go to Avoriaz on the other side and ski in Switzerland. The runs are brilliant on either side.
The lifts are efficient and the staff are helpful
The food and drink in Morzine is really good the options on different cuisine is good and the altes Ski is just amazing

This was my first ski trip and was definitely spoilt by going to Morzine first with the family. We had a lovely chalet which was at the bottom of Les gets ski lift which was ideal location.
Kamado kitchen at the bottom of the lift is also highly recommended, whether it’s for a coffee or dinner! They managed to fit a collection meal for 25 in on the day which we was really grateful for!

The slopes themselves were great, we got alll of the first time skiers in the family down piste b which was amazing. At the time we went it wasn’t tooooo busy on the slopes and we can’t wait to go back

Great for families, groups amd couples. Fabulous even on snowy days, as so many runs within the trees. So you can always have fun and visibility. Huge range of restaurants at all prices to choose from and loads going on for kids within the town for after skiing, in the main square. Would highly recommend for a family holiday.

We went as a couple over new year but would definitely return with our children. Lovely family friendly resort. Plenty of accomodation options, nice restaurants
, bars and activities for non skiers. Pistes were very well groomed allowing plenty of runs to be open even with weeks without any real snow. Plenty of nice bars and restaurants on the mountain too. Ski area was large and varied runs for all abilities. Can buy the larger pass which enables you to venture up to Avoriaz but this was not needed for 5 days only. Would recommend to all!

The snow wasn’t great when we went but it was a good base to get to Avoriaz, where the snow was much better, and very easy as the SuperMorzine was running. A lot of the runs in Morzine were shut due to lack of snow so was probably busier than usual, on top of the fact it was the new years week. Most runs are blue and red but there were a couple of blacks that were open too but most were closed due to lack of snow. There wasn’t enough snow for off piste really. Most of the apres we went to was in Avoriaz and Montriond but again very easy to access due to the great transport within the resort. The town had everything we needed and is good for everything- very family friendly but equally lots of bars and clubs if you fancy a night out.

Morzine is an actual town, rather than just a ski resort, so it has a lot to offer other than just skiing. Also very easy access to other resorts and the portes du soleil area is huge!

Great free shuttle bus between lifts to reduce time needed to walk in ski boots. Lots of great food options in the town. Easy to ski between neighboring resorts such as Les Gets, Avoriaz etc. Very cool that you can ski into Austria too! The resort was busy and there was plenty of options of bars and restaurants. The snow wasn’t brilliant but that’s not the resorts fault.
We were lucky and stayed close to the lifts and had easy access to shops etc.
We found that other tourists weren’t as friendly as you would usually find at apres but we still had an amazing time!
