The Skiers' Guide to Morzine

Fantastic place for beginners with lots of ski schools and great progression along the slopes.

Penguin Park was a great way to preparare for blue runs. Skiing across to Les Gets is must and definitely the trip to Avoriaz is unmissable.

Amazing restaurants with great food and fantastic service…highly recommend The Hideout and also an early morning walk to one of the many bakeries for fresh pastries

The town itself is picturesque, clean and offers a good range of shops, restaurants and bars. I highly recommend Restaurant Bertine in Morzine as the food was outstanding and the bar fantastic as well.

A short walk from Morzine town centre gets you onto the Super Morzine via a gondola, or you can take a bus and gondola ride to reach Avoriaz.

It doesn’t take long to find quiet, tree-lined runs with efficient lifts connecting you to higher terrain. Queues were never long and the pistes were well groomed.

The board park in Avoriaz caters to all levels and we found some great boardercross runs to ride.

I snowboarded on this trip as I have for the past 18 years but next time I’ll be switching back to skis as it’s been way too long since I last clipped in.

Best place ever for apres! Loads of late night places and live music with plenty of choice for where to eat. Easy access to Les Gets and Avoriaz for even more skiing choices. The penguin park and ski school in Morzine is great for beginners with plenty of options of more challenging runs for those more experience skiers too. You can also ski down to the town at the end of the day so you don’t have to get the gondola.

Amazing location, easy access to Les Gets and Avoriaz. Fun and lively town with a big focus on live music.

My favorite ski place due to large size and huge village. Something for everyone. The slopes were varied enough and we found plenty of really quiet runs which is what I personally enjoy

Morzine and Les Gets gives you really expansive terrain. Giving load of variation and different terrain to ski.

Awesome place to stay with plenty of amenities in Morzine. Also easy access to ski Avoriaz and wider Port du soleil region. Lovely apres bars and enjoyable runs.

Chamouri it’s a family run chart and Fronk the dad is amazing driving us around and picking us up and Joseph the bartender if great with apres ski drinks and we have Sus h a great time everytime we go there.Great food too! Highly recommend

Great resort - lots of variety so you can ski new areas every day. Was able to make good progress as a beginner. Can be quite busy in parts.

Busy village but slopes and lifts fairly free..
Group of 7 but still able to get in to busy restaurants with booking day before.
Great resort...keep trying others but always end up coming back to Morzine..!

Morzine is a fantastic ski resort with great runs, lively town vibes and easy access from Geneva. The access to the Portes du Soleil ski area is fantastic, offering a huge variety of runs for all abilities, with well-connected lifts and stunning alpine views.

I have been skiing in Morzine for 18 years and it really does have everything on offer you could ask for, great for families, brilliant Apres ski, great selections of eatery’s fo food.

The slopes are sometimes quite busy and ski patrol throughout the French alps would be useful as people with minimal ability seem to be skiing faster every year and causing accidents because of it.

Really nice resort short transfer was great with young kids. Ski school for the kids was excellent loads of good slopes for beginners.

Snow limited in Morzine. Good snow at avoriaz with decent ski area. Town was buzzing,
Good music, aprez, bars and restaurants.

Moraine is a little low but the lift up to avoriaz is the place to be. London the high street. The apartments look like the cliff- see it to believe it. Truly wonderful place.

Morzine is my home in the mountains. Great runs, amazing food, fun aprés, gorgeous traditional town. There's something for everyone!

Great lads trip to Morzine the Apres in Avoriaz was great and then a good selection of restaurant and bars for on an evening.

Morzine as a resort is amazing. Lots of options for skiing and the village it self is so good for family’s and adults as well.

Morzine was a brilliant place to take our young children for their first ski holiday. There are plenty of greens and easy blues close to the gondola on both sides for beginners.

Pros: great family friendly resort, great lifts and connectivity with a huge ski areas. Lots of intermediate level runs and a huge choice of ski schools, restaurants, accommodation and rental locations.
Cons: busy all year round with lots of riders that don’t really understand etiquette on the mountain (ie cutting people off, skiing out of control). Also the resort is lower down so snow levels and quality tend to be unpredictable.
