What Skiers Say About Morzine

Morzine attracts a broad mix of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with families and groups of friends commonly mentioned. Reviewers consistently highlight the resort's location within the Portes du Soleil area, offering easy access to Avoriaz, Les Gets, and a large variety of terrain. The town itself is praised for being a real Alpine town with numerous bars, restaurants, and shops, and the free shuttle bus service is frequently noted as efficient. Snow conditions receive mixed feedback, with lower altitude slopes sometimes suffering from lack of snow or becoming slushy, though higher areas like Avoriaz are noted as more snow-sure. Après-ski options and value for money are generally well-regarded, though some mention the resort can get busy during peak periods.

We had a great holiday, progressing my girls with their snowboarding. Great snow for the end of season and plenty to do. Lift staff were particularly good at helping my girls off the lifts!

Morzine is a great resort! Portes du Soleil has options for any kind of day skiing, fast slopes, slow easy runs, places to stop, eat, drink and party. It’s both family friendly and a great place to go with friends. There is a reason I will go back here over and over! Morzine is a great base, there is so much do to and see after your day of skiing, all different food and drink options and more than enough selection to not go to the same place twice. I couldn’t recommend it more and I can’t wait to return

Amazing resort, many lifts and runs to choose from. Predominately blue runs, with some good reds and a few blacks, good for a family with children. Town offers everything - family friendly but also bars and good restaurants. Staff super helpful, helped us when we lost our phone

A very efficient lift system from morzine up to avoriaz. Great skiing for a group of mixed abilities as red runs join up with blue runs and we can all end up at the same place. Very busy over the half term school holidays but still managed to get lots of skiing in if you get up early! A well deserved beer or cocktail in the many bars in Morzine. A fun family holiday always had by everybody.

You cannot go wrong in morzine! We’ve been 3 times and just booked our 4th trip. We’re a mixed group of skiers and snowboarders and this resort is perfect for both, it was no problem sticking together. There’s so many cafes and bars, it’s so easy to drop down into other resorts and even other countries! Watching people take on the Swiss wall is fun! We’ve been to other resorts and always end up back in Morzine. Even spotted a few celebs there this season so made me even more excited for next trip in February half term 2027.

Only skied for 1 day. Stayed in lovely Airbnb apartment. Ski lift pass easy to obtain from the machines. Great bus service which was good as was late in the season and lower slopes were a bit mushy for me as a beginner

So much choice for places to ski but doesn’t feel overwhelming. Perfect for beginners. My kids enjoyed the ESF lessons and there were plenty of quiet areas to practise what they’d learnt. Loads of options for more experienced skiers and we had a big dump of snow at the beginning of the week so lots of off piste powder too.

3 great parks and you can get a park pass for the day which still opens up a lot of the mountain including Avoriaz. Perfect for a slushy sunny day.
Apres is good, public transport is good and the town doesn’t get much snow so you can use the skatepark after being on the mountain.
Friendly local crew

I have thoroughly enjoyed snowboarding in Morzine/Avoriaz with my friends from London, we came at the end of march and get to make the most of fresh powder as well as fighting our way down the mountains against the wind and slack of visibility! 11/10 would definitely recommend and return

Skiing down from Avoriaz to super Morzine is a great run for beginners. Two pub/bars down by super Morzine cable lift that are good to go to before u get on the cable car. Check out the yeti for lunch in Avoriaz.
