What Skiers Say About Morzine

Morzine attracts a broad mix of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with families and groups of friends commonly mentioned. Reviewers consistently highlight the resort's location within the Portes du Soleil area, offering easy access to Avoriaz, Les Gets, and a large variety of terrain. The town itself is praised for being a real Alpine town with numerous bars, restaurants, and shops, and the free shuttle bus service is frequently noted as efficient. Snow conditions receive mixed feedback, with lower altitude slopes sometimes suffering from lack of snow or becoming slushy, though higher areas like Avoriaz are noted as more snow-sure. Après-ski options and value for money are generally well-regarded, though some mention the resort can get busy during peak periods.

Easy resort, two gondolas & free land train running between the two. Ski lockers at Pleney costing 11eur a day for up to 5 sets of kit. Plenty of shops and bars, altho all very expensive.Would come again but likely stay in avoriaz next door as piste access slightly easier.

Not the best resort for snowboarders - lots of flat terrain and T-bar button lifts! Good for beginners and intermediate skiers, easy and wide runs although can get busy afternoons. Snow cover is mixed across the season. Could do with better apres options!! Good entry level resort and good value for money

Great resort for whole family. Lots to do for any non skiers. Lovely resort that has a nice town feel to it rather than being purpose built. Lots of skiing to be done over the linked resorts and great variety of slopes

We had a great week in Morzine, the pistes were well groomed despite there being so much snowfall on certain days. The lifts were always being well maintained by the staff and restaurants were frequent and friendly.

Group trip with friends to Morzine in March 2024. Unfortunately very little snow fall on the local slopes, many were closed. But accessing Avoriaz was easy, meaning we still had a great time and had plenty of variety.

Christmas week was a fantastic time to be in Morzine and Avoriaz; the slopes were quiet and there were no queues for the lifts. We were also blessed with lots of powder!
New Year was very busy, a totally different place. Very busy slopes, lots of beginners and children and huge queues for lifts. I would definitely recommend Christmas in Morzine, it was a beautiful place but New Year was too busy.

Morzine and Avoriaz ski area of the port du soleil region has so much to offer. So many places to eat and stop off. The thrill of entering the Swiss border and returning to France is also a nice addition.
Free buses around the resort with plenty of private transfers and public on offer.
Would also recommend for families as well as couples who want the convenience for lots of activities and choice.
Snow parks are second to none and the stash run is the best freestyle section we have ridden in the last few years.
Will visit again 10 times over

A good resort for families and beginners - 2024 was not a good season overall but especially in Morzine we found ourselves moving up and over to different resorts most days for better conditions

My sisters and I enjoy a short ski break in Morzine most years in March, its only a 1.25 hour transfer from Geneva airport, we usually use Alpybus for a reliable group minibus service. Lots of accommodation choices in the Morzine itself which can be pricy during peak times. Can recommend Ski With Ease for tuition for individuals or small groups.

I absolutely loved my time at morzine. It was the busiest week of the year (new years) and yet you could still find fairly quiet slopes if you looked for them. We got an amazing dump towards the end of the week and by all accounts it was their best Christmas for snow in a long time. The queues for the lifts could be pretty big at times but there are always a lot of options and they do move fairly quickly. Theres a good amount of parks, off piste areas and beginner friendly zones as well as a huge skiing area for all levels. Loved it, will be going back again for sure!

Fantastic ski area with something for all levels of skiers/boarders, have spent many great days with my friends snowboarding all over the extensive ski area. Can get a bit thin or slushy getting back to Morzine village at times due to its low elevation but this never spoiled our enjoyment. Great selection of bars restaurants for the apre ski too!

Morzine/Les Gets is a great resort for beginners and intermediate skiers. Avoriaz is also easily accessible with the super Morzine lift and this offers extensive skiing taking you into Swiss resorts too.
The big appeal for Morzine is the short transfer from Geneva and the village has lots of bars and restaurants.
