What Skiers Say About Morzine

Morzine attracts a broad mix of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with families and groups of friends commonly mentioned. Reviewers consistently highlight the resort's location within the Portes du Soleil area, offering easy access to Avoriaz, Les Gets, and a large variety of terrain. The town itself is praised for being a real Alpine town with numerous bars, restaurants, and shops, and the free shuttle bus service is frequently noted as efficient. Snow conditions receive mixed feedback, with lower altitude slopes sometimes suffering from lack of snow or becoming slushy, though higher areas like Avoriaz are noted as more snow-sure. Après-ski options and value for money are generally well-regarded, though some mention the resort can get busy during peak periods.

Great place for beginners. Lovely town but favourite Aprés ski venue being renovated so missed out on the fantastic music! Easy relaxed place to learn. Rest of my party intermediate and advanced and they did some good runs too. At times slopes were busy.

Morzine is great for self catered stays as it's a proper town with a supermarket, lots of eating out options and plenty of places for a drink. For skiing it's easy to access Morzine and Les Gets, a little extra effort to reach the wider Porte du Soleil and higher slopes, but the free busses are handy for that. Lifts are not as modern as other big resorts like 3 valleys and espace killy.

Really enjoyed my stay to Morzine, we went in a group of 7 and it was easy to find accommodation and places to drink and eat, both during the day on the slopes and in the evening back in Morzine. Staying in Morzine gave us access to Les Gets and Avoriaz with trips over the border to Switzerland very doable. Our group varied from beginner skiers to advanced snowboarder/skier and everyone found runs to enjoy. Often routes could be planned so everyone could join in doing snowparks, off piste black runs and blue/reds as they pleased. I would definitely recommend!

Fantastic family resort, great skiing across a wide variety of terrain! Easy to get to from Geneva. Morzine is on the back side of les gets and at the base of Avoriaz if the snow conditions arent ideal take the cable car up to Avoriaz.

Morzine is a great family friendly resort with lots of restaurants and apres ski options. The snow lined runs are so beautiful, ready is a very pretty area to ski!! The ski map is a little tricky as some runs are not marked/numbered when you get there. But plenty of skiing options from beginners to advance and you can always ski down to Les Gets for more options. Morzine is quite low but you also have Avoriaz on the door step for guaranteed snow!

Morzine is a great all round resort, expensive but worth it in our opinion. Great runs, great restaurants and bars, lovely traditional town, plus great ski routes to resorts like Avoriaz if you want parks and a livelier après ski!

Good resort overall, plenty of runs for all difficulty options. Plentiful lifts allowed easy access to required runs. Slopes are well signposted and well maintained. Lift prices are very reasonable. Options for renting seemed good, although I brought my own equipment. Options in the town for food and drinks were plentiful. Locals in the town are friendly. Would recommend overall.
