What Skiers Say About Morzine
Morzine attracts a broad mix of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with families and groups of friends commonly mentioned. Reviewers consistently highlight the resort's location within the Portes du Soleil area, offering easy access to Avoriaz, Les Gets, and a large variety of terrain. The town itself is praised for being a real Alpine town with numerous bars, restaurants, and shops, and the free shuttle bus service is frequently noted as efficient. Snow conditions receive mixed feedback, with lower altitude slopes sometimes suffering from lack of snow or becoming slushy, though higher areas like Avoriaz are noted as more snow-sure. Closed due to lack of snow in December. Resorts its self has wide range of activities, including ice skating, hockey, plenty of restaurants and bars. Overall a great place to ski with family and friends.
The apres ski in morzine is fantastic with really good bars and food options. The town is lovely to wander around with lots of artisanal shops selling products like local honey or chocolate as well as a fantastic market on certain days of the week if you’re taking a day off the slopes.
Overall having been to morzine skiing twice in the last two years and having been lucky enough to get great snowfall each time I couldn’t recommend it enough as a ski destination as well as a summer holiday option as well.
