What Skiers Say About Morzine

Morzine attracts a broad mix of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with families and groups of friends commonly mentioned. Reviewers consistently highlight the resort's location within the Portes du Soleil area, offering easy access to Avoriaz, Les Gets, and a large variety of terrain. The town itself is praised for being a real Alpine town with numerous bars, restaurants, and shops, and the free shuttle bus service is frequently noted as efficient. Snow conditions receive mixed feedback, with lower altitude slopes sometimes suffering from lack of snow or becoming slushy, though higher areas like Avoriaz are noted as more snow-sure. Après-ski options and value for money are generally well-regarded, though some mention the resort can get busy during peak periods.

We love visiting morzine and having the choice of skiing on either the Morzine or Avoriaz side. The village is a beautiful traditional
Alpine resort with lots of lovely restaurants and bars. We visit every year.

Love morzine. It’s a family friendly resort with loads of restaurants and bar choices. Great ski zone too and access to other resorts like ardent, avoriaz and even access to Switzerland. Friendly sky staff and well run lifts

So many runs to do, especially If you make your way up to the top of avoriaz. Lots of nice food and places to have a beer.

Incredible ski area with great conditions during the time we were there. Runs were easy and maintained well with enough snowfall to make most runs somewhat of a powder lap. The backcountry and off-piste options are vast and exciting with few people riding these lines.
It is quite an expensive ski area but a lot of fun. I was disappointed with the lack of snow park options within Morzine but thankfully Avoriaz was only a lift away but you would have to spend the day over there if you did go.
Slopes stayed quiet most of the time but most of the people there really knew what they were doing with a lot of begginer friendly access. Your options to ski are vast, i’ve been skiing for 16 years and i can confidently say that if you look for it you will be pleasantly challenged by the terrain.

Suggest to stay in Morzine if you want a good vibe in the evening. The lifts will get you to Avoriaz fairly quickly if the snow is poor lower down. The big bonus was the sheer number of different runs and lifts which make it perfect for people who don’t want to repeat the same runs. All round a very good resort.

Excellent place to ski. Short transfer from Geneva. Got links to nearby Avioraz. It's a low resort so best travelled in season.

I went with my family and the skiing was excellent. Although it was very busy, the runs were accommodating to all ski levels so there was something for everyone to do. Food was delicious and there were a decent amount of resturaunts scattered on the runs for anyone who likes to stop for a hot chocolate mid-morning like me. It’s definitely not the cheapest place to ski HOWEVER I personally thought it was worth the price.

While the quaint Morzine of old has gone, the fact that this is a an actual town and not a purpose made ski resort, makes it an ideal base for skiing the Porte du Soleil ski area. It also means that you have plenty of alternatives when it comes to shopping and dining.

You can ski directly from the village itself, or catch a bus to Pont du Nyon or to the cable car and chair up to Avoriaz. You have a selection of runs to choose from, gentle greens and blues all the way to off piste off the back of Nyon.

The resort is great for families and is in easy reach of Geneva making it an ideal holiday destiniation.

Great trip for three child free adults, intermediate skiers who like a combo of blue, red and black. Snow conditions great and so many runs of varying kinds to choose from - big groomed pistes and quiet tree lined tunnels. Decent off piste and great food options in town.

Snow was not great however it was mid december. Definitely need to go later in year as resort is low down. Booking a ski shop close to the super morzine lift is very helpful as they can keep your skis and boots overnight in their locker and then it is a very short walk to the lift!

This is a great 'all-rounder' resort, something for everyone, groups, families, beginners to experts, partyers and those preferring quieter times. There is access to Avoriaz and Switzerland so it's an enormous ski area. The buildings aren't the most attractive but functional. It is car-free so you will need to use the provided snow transport to get from your transfer to the village. As expected, the slopes and lifts can get busy in school holidays. As a snowboarder I did find there were more flat sections that I would have liked. In the village you can get everything you need from the supermarkets and there are several restuarants, however, there weren't many options for vegetarians or vegans, but this doesn't seem unusual in ski resorts. On the slopes there are lots of options for lunch or coffee etc. A bonus there is a bird park which has a variety of huge birds and information on them!

Just got back from visiting Morzine. It was my first time there and absolutely loved it. Such a nice little village and great ski area as it links up with Les Gets and Avoriaz so easily. I would definitely recommend. Is family friendly but also has some good apres options.

We have visited morzine a number of time as a group of 40+ gents and find morzine has everything we need. Range of accommodation and costs has always fitted within our budget requirements and standards. Varied range of restaurants and bars to suit our daily needs (lively at start of our visit and quieter at the end when we are shattered).

A plethora of skiing available at all grades which suits our group. Access to avoriez is great if snow is not available at lower levels so we have slways been able to ski when visiting.

Overall great location with loads of varied runs and lifts which always gives us good skiing.
