What Skiers Say About Morzine

Morzine attracts a broad mix of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with families and groups of friends commonly mentioned. Reviewers consistently highlight the resort's location within the Portes du Soleil area, offering easy access to Avoriaz, Les Gets, and a large variety of terrain. The town itself is praised for being a real Alpine town with numerous bars, restaurants, and shops, and the free shuttle bus service is frequently noted as efficient. Snow conditions receive mixed feedback, with lower altitude slopes sometimes suffering from lack of snow or becoming slushy, though higher areas like Avoriaz are noted as more snow-sure. Après-ski options and value for money are generally well-regarded, though some mention the resort can get busy during peak periods.

Morzine is a great resort, friendly spot with a massive 600km skiing in the Portes du Soleil. The town is buzzing with awesome bars and endless food options. It’s not cheap, but you can definitely do it on a budget with plenty of accommodation options and some cheaper eats!

Great ski resort, easy access to morzine, les gets and avoriaz giving you different ski areas within easy reach.
Town is lovely with nice cafes, bars and the nightlife is great too, particularly the cavern

Only downside I would say is most restaurants and bars have very similar menus and get really busy so you do really need to book places in advance

Would 100% recommend Morzine to anyone. Caters to all groups; families, friends, couples etc. So much variety for ski areas; we ski’d Avoriaz and Les Gets, conditions were great. In Morzine town it’s the perfect combination of lively and chilled, whatever you want to go for you will find. All meals eaten out were 10/10. Highly recommend

Great resort. Massive amounts of runs and lifts to explore. The snow on the lower levels isnt amazing due to climate change, but up above the main gondola is decent snow. Not only that but the pass works in Avoriaz just down the road, which being above 2000m has excellent snow and even more fun and challenging runs and snow parks.

Nice, family friendly ski resort. Good amount of runs, good lifts and good for beginners. If you want higher level skiing you can easily get to avoriaz which has some trickier runs and snowparks. Avoriaz also has more apres!

April skiing from the top of the Ardent bubble. Decent snow cover at that time of year, with almost all of the higher runs open. Morzine has excellent restaurants, cafes and shops for anything you might need.

New Year trip and it was great. Pistes well prepared, with most slopes and lifts open. Busy as it was UK school hols but compared to Avoriaz it was a breeze.
Restaurants busy as usual, you really need to book in advance.

Awesome range of slopes. Les Gets is quieter but gorgeous, Avoriaz and beyond is the real deal. Morzine is authentic and lovely, but low.
Never disappointed with Morzine.

Great resort, only 90 mins from Geneva airport, one of the few French resorts you can actually get a shared transfer during super busy February half term! Lovely town, plenty of friendly bars and good range of restaurants to choose from but again, can be tricky especially for groups during peak season so plan / book ahead. For skiing, lots of lift access close to town centre with choice of Morzine / Les Gets or Avoriaz. Great range of cruisey blue runs and some reasonable reds for intermediates. We stayed in a lovely AirBnb apartment and our host Josette was super nice! Fresh croissants and baguettes from the little bakery every morning, then beers at the bottom of Pleney lift each day! Going back to Avoriaz this year, can't wait!

Had a fantastic time away in Morzine with friends. We had stayed and booked with skiology. We ate out a few times but as we had our catering chef who made fantastic meals it was difficult to eat out at night ! Overall the skiing and boarding was fantastic with great sunshine and a few nights where snow fell to make the boating even better in the morning. I would like to take my fiancé away so she can experience the alps as she’s only skied America.

Despite it being a lower resort, there are easy links to Avoriaz and Lindarets which means that even if the local slopes aren’t in great condition, you can still have lots of great skiing! The town itself is beautiful, super family friendly and has lots of food/bar options. Easily accessible from Geneva or doable as a drive from Calais.
