What Skiers Say About Morzine

Morzine attracts a broad mix of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with families and groups of friends commonly mentioned. Reviewers consistently highlight the resort's location within the Portes du Soleil area, offering easy access to Avoriaz, Les Gets, and a large variety of terrain. The town itself is praised for being a real Alpine town with numerous bars, restaurants, and shops, and the free shuttle bus service is frequently noted as efficient. Snow conditions receive mixed feedback, with lower altitude slopes sometimes suffering from lack of snow or becoming slushy, though higher areas like Avoriaz are noted as more snow-sure. Après-ski options and value for money are generally well-regarded, though some mention the resort can get busy during peak periods.

Great resort with plenty to do. Great connections to Avoriaz and Les Gets. Can get very crowded on the slopes with some ski schools going down the reds and blues - watch out.

Third time skiing at morzine with family. Great resort; well maintained lifts and pistes, plenty of room on the slopes when we went. Lots of decent blues and red runs so really good for beginners and intermediate skiers looking to improve. Lifties always seem friendly and helpful.
Lovely range of bars and restaurants in the village plus super friendly ski hire places right near the le pleney gondola. Transfers in and out are easy to Geneva airport. Will be back.

Absolutely loved Morzine. This was my first ever ski trip. So many beginner friendly slopes, made it so easy to ease into skiing. Such a magical location, with beautiful lit up town of Avoriaz. Adored the food and the apres ski was a moment to remember for life

I went to morzine with my family for New Year’s Eve and it was amazing. I have been skiing since I was 3 years old and now 25. Gone every year with my family and going over new year is magical and still doing it with my loved ones is even more specially. Morzine is a fab ski resort and even thkught it was a busy time I didn’t think the slopes were to packed. Would reccommend to anyone

First week of January, slopes were so so quiet. Lifts ran impeccably. Some grassy spots lower down but a lovely snowy night fixed that.

I’ve been to Morzine several times, and lived there for 6 months. While Morzine ski area is smaller, it’s great for beginners with easy access from town. For advanced skiers, you can enter the entire portes du soleil ski region from Morzine town. The free ski bus is awesome and reaches most accommodation so I would recommend checking access to the nearest bus stop. For apres - head to happy hours on a Wednesday. They have a bus service back to town until 9pm.

First time skiing, had no idea what to expect from the holiday (organised by a friend who snowboards). The town was beautiful, and everything was easy to find. We loved our ski school, and saw real progression throughout the week. We had two young children with us who also had a great trip. Am now hooked on skiing!

Morzine is a town that has nice restaurants and a good places to stay.

The beauty of Morzine is that you can ski in Morzine and catch lifts all the way to Avoriaz. Alternatively there are many buses that take you to alternative ski lifts that are not in Morzine.

Definitely a place to try.
