What Skiers Say About Morzine

Morzine attracts a broad mix of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with families and groups of friends commonly mentioned. Reviewers consistently highlight the resort's location within the Portes du Soleil area, offering easy access to Avoriaz, Les Gets, and a large variety of terrain. The town itself is praised for being a real Alpine town with numerous bars, restaurants, and shops, and the free shuttle bus service is frequently noted as efficient. Snow conditions receive mixed feedback, with lower altitude slopes sometimes suffering from lack of snow or becoming slushy, though higher areas like Avoriaz are noted as more snow-sure. A great location with lovely bars and food options. Ski conditions not so good as quite low down - meant one day was very very icy.

Morzine is a fabulous town for families or groups. Have been both winter and summer and its brilliant for both. Not too expensive to eat and drink. Skiing can struggle a bit if its warm due to altitude, but there is just sooo much ski area if you get a full PDS pass. Main lift areas are busy but if you scoot away from them its ace (probably just busy everywhere on peak weeks though). Off piste was cruddy when we were there but when the snow is good theres loads to ski.

The ski runs have been immaculately kept, the red runs have been more like blue runs! Steep but free of moguls and the snow nice and powdery! I havent waited for more than 10 minutes for a lift. The slopes have not been too busy - the week we have booked to ski is in school time. The restaurant choices are great but make sure you book in advance as near impossible to walk in and get tables especially for a large group (we had 7)

We had such a good time in Morzine. Definitely recommend getting the Portes du Soleil lift pass as it gets you access to way more runs - so much more to explore. Transport between different areas also very well organised, cant recommend enough.

One of my all time favourite resorts. Skiing is amazing especially if youre lucky with snow late in the season. You get good access and links to the other resorts in the area while being in a really cute village.

We got the Portes du Soleil pass and over four days as intermediate/advanced skiers out from 9am every day and eating on the lift we couldn't finish it all. Huge variety of runs, lots of blues if you have a mixed ability group but a good range of reds and blacks as well and plenty of off piste. Morzine and Les gets gets sun for most of the day. It was very quiet in mid-January; no lift queues at all.We rented gear from La Clinik and they were great - also located right next to the pleney lift so no walking required!

Morzine is one of my favorite ski destinations, combining stunning alpine charm with excellent skiing. Being part of the vast Portes du Soleil area, it offers endless terrain to explore, with runs for every skill level. I love the vibrant village atmosphere, full of traditional chalets, great food, and a lively après-ski scene. Its also really accessiblejust over an hour from Geneva, making it perfect for a quick getaway. While the lower altitude can sometimes mean less reliable snow, the easy access to Avoriaz ensures theres always great skiing nearby. Its a resort that keeps me coming back for more.

Morzine is the best resort for affordability and access to top skiing and facilities. With avoriaz just a 10 minute bus ride away accessing many bucket list Swiss ski runs it has a great mix of everything from reasonable and delicious restaurants and of course le follie douce.
