What Skiers Say About Les Arcs
Les Arcs attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with intermediate skiers being particularly well-served. Reviewers consistently mention the vast ski area, especially when linked with La Plagne via the Paradiski pass, offering extensive terrain that prevents boredom over a week. The lift system is generally praised for efficiency and minimal queuing, though some mention increased crowds in recent years due to new all-inclusive hotels. Après-ski receives positive feedback, particularly venues like Folie Douce and L'Arpette in Arc 1800. Several users note good value compared to other French resorts, convenient access via funicular from Bourg-St-Maurice, and reliable snow conditions due to altitude. Common criticisms include limited nightlife and restaurant options in some villages (particularly Arc 2000), crowded narrow sections on certain runs, and an abundance of flat connecting tracks that frustrate snowboarders.

We've been 4 times and are still finding new runs to explore
Les Arcs 2000 was ideal for us ski-in, ski-out which was a great feature. The area itself offered a handful of basic restaurants and bars and bowling with pizza, which was nice in the evenings. However, For more most of the bars and restaurants (+corner shop) was down the quick and easy gondola to Les Arcs 1800. The gondola ran late into the evenings.
The ski terrain had a huge variety of slopes, plenty to offer both for those of us who occasionally ventured onto black runs and for our partners who preferred blues and the occasional red. Despite some congestion around the lifts at peak times, the slopes felt open and never overly crowded.
Lower areas like Les Arcs 1600 relied on snow cannons, we had no issues higher up. Being in 2000 we could also be first to the top of the mountain in the mornings, and the chance the chance to propose to my partner at sunset.
For a more party atmosphere, Les Arcs 1600 might be a better but it was easy to get
If you are looking for top level skiing and apres then you need to look elsewhere
Large ski area with great lift system
Lots of restaurants and cafés to choose from.
Great off piste skiing.
Accommodation was fantastic
The skiing is varied for all abilities and its a great place to get children started on the slopes - our first time as a family last year.
For Apres head over to 1850 to the Folie Deuce - a lift back up and a beginner/intermediate ski back into the village.
It doesnt come cheap, but was so good last year we are going back with 7 more families this year!
