Spent a week skiing Les Arcs/La Plagne recently. Stayed in Bourg St Maurice and used the frequent funicular to ski from Les Arcs 1600. Worth considering as there is plenty of choice of authentic cheaper restaurants and bars down in Bourg in the evenings. Liveliest venue is the Hotel Base Camp which also runs the Arpette bar/restaurant on the mountain between 1600 & 1800.
The skiing was great. Pistes well managed and pisted. I was impressed with the double decker cable car link between Les Arcs/La Plagne and the access runs had been worked on every day to maintain good conditions (much better than last time I was there and it was a trial skiing to the link!).
Overall a good week.

Stayed at Arc 1950... I watched this resort develop and get built years ago and returned pre xmas week This self contained resort had a very comfortable feel with all amenities literally within 100m of accomodation for everyone staying in the resort. The pre xmas street entertainment which from literature received since is a regular occurence and is very pleasant to be part of. Plenty of bars and eateries to suit varied prices. The resort is high with a good snow record. The village is literally ski in and out for all residents. Paradiski system ( of which 1950 belongs ) offers an extensive amount of ski runs to suit all tastes. Good lift connectivity and the Transarc ( a relatively new bubble ) allows late access to the 1950 valley from one lift out of Les Arc 1600.... A great location and would recommend.

Black runs have not been pisted for a Long time so very moguly with chopped up lines of sight. Otherwise an excellent all round resort very well signed with plenty of skiing to keep all levels happy

We have been visiting Les Arcs for a number of years now. The groomed pistes are vast with over 300 kilometres of slopes. Off piste is both beautiful and fun. It is a very family friendly resort but also has plenty on offer for adults. It is also pretty snow sure due to its height.

First time skiing Les Arcs, and based in Arc 1950. This is a beautiful wee village, car free, with nothing but ski-in/ski-out accommodation, and enough restaurants to keep you fed for a week. Not much of a loud apres scene - if that's your think then Arc 1800 is probably a better choice. From a skiing perspective, my impression of Les Arcs is that they leave too many runs ungroomed overnight, leading to lots of mogul covered reds and blacks. In fact, the only black we found that wasn't covered in moguls was sheet ice instead. This is in contrast to the 3 Valleys which grooms most of its blacks every second night, so if you like steep but smooth, you get catered for. On the plus side, Les Arcs operates an innovative express queue for several lifts which you get access to if you have a full Paradiski (Les Arcs + La Plagne) lift pass. We were there for the third week of January and found crowds not too bad - there were some deserted runs where you could open up the throttle and have a bit of fun, but also some real bottlenecks where you were struggling to make your way through the crowds. February will presumably be even worse in this respect. Overall, not a bad resort, with some good runs and fantastic views across to Mont Blanc, but I probably won't be rushing back to ski here again.

A great resort linked to La Plagne. Really good mix of groomed and ungroomed piste, and plenty of off piste when snow conditions allow.

When we went there were strong winds which meant for the first 3 days we were stuck in 1850, which was quite limiting. However for the second half of the week were able to get across to la plagne. Resort has been purpose built so no cars inside the main area which was nice.

Great resort, beautiful runs and a wide area to explore; food expensive and a bit bland - junk or just cheese. Recommended but come with deep pockets. French people are a bit grumpy and not really polite.

1950 is a great village base for skiing Les Arcs, much more character and charm than many French reports and other parts of the mountain. Great variety of slopes for all abilities, plenty of nice blues around the mountain and a variety of reds. Black runs were often not pisted so can make for more challenging conditions. Loved the ski in ski out of 1950 village, great vibe and lots of places to eat and drink. Easy to see your way around the resort and get from village to village. Lucky enough to have a load of fresh snow which made for a lot of great off piste routes around the slopes. All round, brilliant resort!

Really enjoyed skiing in Les Arcs, not as big on nightlife which I prefer, but still lovely pubs and a nice option for students to do a night ski with dinner event! Slopes itself really well maintained, not too busy with breathtaking views

Great for families, and after fresh snow there are some great off piste areas to enjoy. Hotel was great (ski-in and ski-out), however as there were partial lift closures, queues were extensive.
