What Skiers Say About Les Arcs

Les Arcs attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with intermediate skiers being particularly well-served. Reviewers consistently mention the vast ski area, especially when linked with La Plagne via the Paradiski pass, offering extensive terrain that prevents boredom over a week. The lift system is generally praised for efficiency and minimal queuing, though some mention increased crowds in recent years due to new all-inclusive hotels. Après-ski receives positive feedback, particularly venues like Folie Douce and L'Arpette in Arc 1800. Several users note good value compared to other French resorts, convenient access via funicular from Bourg-St-Maurice, and reliable snow conditions due to altitude. Common criticisms include limited nightlife and restaurant options in some villages (particularly Arc 2000), crowded narrow sections on certain runs, and an abundance of flat connecting tracks that frustrate snowboarders.

Beautiful scenery, loads of variety of pistes, very efficient lifts, great restaurants and pubs. We'll definitely return for another visit.

First time in Les Arcs, loved the choice of slopes, and the fact that you can ski from one side of the area to the other linking runs so you just keep going. Possibly some of the longest runs I’ve done. There are also short runs for when you need to warm up & pump.

Great resort. Love how quick the lifts are and how big the resort is! The snow park is really cool and my boyfriend loved it for practising tricks. Only think I would say is that the queues are sometimes really long and there’s some sections like at the very top of the mountain where there’s tones of people all the time and it’s narrow so really hard to squeeze past!

Stayed in Les Arcs 1950. Loved the pedestrianised town, could ski to everything, and ski in and out of apartment block. Limited options for eating out and nightlife.

I’ve been there most years since 2009. New hotels doing all inclusive deals mean that lifts and pistes are really busy but the bars and restaurants are quieter. Midday to 1430 was super quiet while all the hotels were serving dinner.
More lifts needed to cope with the extra people.

We stayed at Les Arcs 1800 in ski in ski out apartments.
We found 1800 a really good base for exploring all of zlez Arcs with easy access over to La Plagne. Kids had ski lessons in ESF and really came on alot.
Great Holiday and would definitely return.

First week in March all worked out well. Warm every day, cloudy for a short time on just / days. Snow always well prepared on pistes. Off piste was useable but new snow was mostly needed. As it’s march, frost in the mornings and just about slush by lift closing.

Les Arcs 1950 is a relatively small resort three and a half hours transfer from Lyon. We were there during the French holidays which affected transfer time markedly. Everything on your doorstep, lots of apres and plenty of choices for accommodation. We lucked out with the weather, wall to wall sunshine, loads of good quality snow, even on the lower slopes, and waiting times on the lifts was acceptable. Good variation in terrain and difficulty. Great resort.

Absolutely love Les Arcs, 4th time visiting (including a full season). Top hack is to get out early towards Valandry to enter the Trans Arc lift at stop 2 to avoid the early morning queues. Has really long runs, with plenty of blues and red if you’re travelling with a group of mixed abilities.

If you find any extra pennies down the sofa, treat yourself and family to a cabin with chalet staff.
Find the lockers for decent snow boots. Walking with your ski boots loose, is not pleasant.

We stopped in Les Arcs for some of our holiday. The cable across from La PLagne drops you off at the base of some fantastic blue and red runs through the trees. The lifts wear easy to get on and off. We took routes across the piste to get to La Folie Douce, its worth the visit !! Beers a bit spenny but the vibes were high. Lift back up to the top of the glacier, red runs back across and down to the cable to go back. Awesome resort.

Really enjoyed les arcs / paradiski. Quite varied terrain, good for better skiers, we went to family who had not skied before, and they were stuck to a few slopes. Lots of good blues reds and blacks. Good itinerary routes in La plange also
