What Skiers Say About Les Arcs

Les Arcs attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with intermediate skiers being particularly well-served. Reviewers consistently mention the vast ski area, especially when linked with La Plagne via the Paradiski pass, offering extensive terrain that prevents boredom over a week. The lift system is generally praised for efficiency and minimal queuing, though some mention increased crowds in recent years due to new all-inclusive hotels. Après-ski receives positive feedback, particularly venues like Folie Douce and L'Arpette in Arc 1800. Several users note good value compared to other French resorts, convenient access via funicular from Bourg-St-Maurice, and reliable snow conditions due to altitude. Common criticisms include limited nightlife and restaurant options in some villages (particularly Arc 2000), crowded narrow sections on certain runs, and an abundance of flat connecting tracks that frustrate snowboarders.

Les Arcs is an absolute winner in terms of the scale and range of runs - every day you get a different experience! Some fantastic accommodation options, especially if you're prepared to stay further down the slopes, or near to Bourg Saint Maurice. Taking the funicular or driving up to Arcs 1600 are easy and relatively quick options.

les Arcs offers some of the best long runs in France. Its easy to really rack up the miles without having to constantly spend time on lifts.
The lower tree lined runs are great when the weather closes in.
And the run from the top of the Aigle Rouge all the way down to Villaroger is a must!
Staying in Montchavin offers a convenient way to explore LaPlange as well as it is so close to the Vanoise - opening up a vast amount of skiing that would suit all levels.

Second time back at this resort in back to back years! Apres is always great and good snow because of the altitude. The access to la Plagne included in the essential lift pass is definitely worth doing. Paying extra for the essential pass is a great shout as you’ll use the express lanes anyway. With this pass you can also get a 17€ lunch deal and drink at Folie which isn’t well advertised but saves money!

First girls ski trip for a 40th birthday and was abit nervous at the start due to never being able to ski before but everyone was so encouraging after a few goes on the slopes, it’s really made me want to keep going on ski holidays for the foreseeable. Not only that but the ski village was cute, food was lovely and partying was so good.

We visited during first week of the season, 13th to 20thDecember. Resort was not over busy so very little queueing at lifts. Snow condition was excellent too and mist runs were open. We skied mostly in Les Arcs but one day in La Plagne which seemed busier. We stayed in Vallandry in a chalet which was excellent value for that week, booked through Alpine Essence.

Insane resort, been multiple times and have never got bored, first tracks experience is definitely worth it for an amazing sunrise and breakfast before the lifts open! après is top notch - food at folie is very good too... accommodation is also pretty good and the accessibility to la plagne is perfect.

Really fun trip! Skiing conditions were generally good, although some runs where not covered with enough snow and were quite rocky. Apres was fun and the overall quality of the resort was great, would recommend and would go again!

Les Arcs is a great resort. It has lots of ski options including going over to La Plange if you get the upgraded lift pass. Lots of great apres including L’arpette and Folie Douce! The skiing was great too especially after a good dumping on snow on the Friday. Nice places to eat including a lovely snack bar in 1950.

The piste map is huge. It’s very easy to get around, although if you like a night out it’s best to stay in 1800 as taxis are pretty much non existent. Going to La Plagne is very worth it aswell, so many cruisey blues through the trees.

Generally good resort with a decent sized ski area and plenty of variety, but let down by piste grooming, and was incredibly busy.

Great resort with a wide range of runs to ski. Lovely scenery. Lifts were all very efficient and queues were never very long given that I went in peak of school holidays. Lots of choice for restaurants and bars, and not too expensive either.
