What Skiers Say About Les Arcs
Les Arcs attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with intermediate skiers being particularly well-served. Reviewers consistently mention the vast ski area, especially when linked with La Plagne via the Paradiski pass, offering extensive terrain that prevents boredom over a week. The lift system is generally praised for efficiency and minimal queuing, though some mention increased crowds in recent years due to new all-inclusive hotels. Après-ski receives positive feedback, particularly venues like Folie Douce and L'Arpette in Arc 1800. Several users note good value compared to other French resorts, convenient access via funicular from Bourg-St-Maurice, and reliable snow conditions due to altitude. Common criticisms include limited nightlife and restaurant options in some villages (particularly Arc 2000), crowded narrow sections on certain runs, and an abundance of flat connecting tracks that frustrate snowboarders.

Once we got our feet the blues were a little easier but as it was over new year the resort was so busy which mean all the runs were packed apart from on our last 2 days.
Accommodation was great. Cheerful & clean. Great food options and wine provided with lunch and dinner. Friendly staff especially at reception and boot/ski hire.
A nice range of shops and bars/restaurants and easy access to 1950 - a short gondola ride away.
We went over to the 1800 resort for apres which was amazing and very reasonably priced which was lovely.
Overall I really rate our trip but would suggest heading over to one of the other parts like 1800 to have more beginner friendly skiing.
In school holidays it can become unbearably busy but off peak the slopes are uncrowded and lift queues are small.
Great off piste terrain can be found with a little looking and plenty of challenging runs exist for more advanced skiers.
The villages themselves were okay Not much in the way of apres ski action or great choice of restaurants but adequate for the one or two nights that we ate outside of our catered accommodation.
Would definitely go to Lazaar again Lots of good options both on and off
Piste.
If you dont mind driving, the resort is about 9 -10 hours from Caen , ( we ferry from Portsmouth).
Plenty of runs for intermediate skiers, the resort can be skied from one side to the other over a variety of piste types, forest, wide motorway, fairly challenging reds.
Lots of forest runs, especially on the Peisey-vallandry side of the resort, handy for flat light conditions.
Food on the mountain ranges from the fairly fancy Sanglier qui fume to the self service Enfants terrible. Burgers and beer at Comptoir Savoyard at the bottom of the Vallandry lift highly recommended.
We travel the first week of January and while the weather can be changeable, the snow is always good, and the pistes very quiet.
It was good for intermediate skiers and above.
Tried snowboarding for the first time here. The lessons were fantastic as the instructors were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. However, it was difficult to advance from the beginner area as there were a minimal number of green slopes.
The Après was great but there were few choices to continue the night.
For families on the other hand the resort ran activities such as sledding and curling!
It was slightly difficult to get around the resort, as the last lift from the lower restaurants to upper accommodations was at around 11pm. However, once in the accommodation it was quiet and relaxing.
Easy to get to
Fantastic fun
Highly recommended
Connected to other resorts via Bourge saint marie. Very varied mix of terrain. Big area but there are bottlenecks in the morning and at the end of the day so route planning is essential.
