What Skiers Say About Les Arcs

Les Arcs attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with intermediate skiers being particularly well-served. Reviewers consistently mention the vast ski area, especially when linked with La Plagne via the Paradiski pass, offering extensive terrain that prevents boredom over a week. The lift system is generally praised for efficiency and minimal queuing, though some mention increased crowds in recent years due to new all-inclusive hotels. Après-ski receives positive feedback, particularly venues like Folie Douce and L'Arpette in Arc 1800. Several users note good value compared to other French resorts, convenient access via funicular from Bourg-St-Maurice, and reliable snow conditions due to altitude. Common criticisms include limited nightlife and restaurant options in some villages (particularly Arc 2000), crowded narrow sections on certain runs, and an abundance of flat connecting tracks that frustrate snowboarders.

On my 3rd working ski season here and I love Les Arcs. I love coming back to the Paradiski Area and being familiar with all the runs. Best place for me to ski personally to progress but also have lots of fun

Les Arcs provide is a great starter resort for those looking to get their ski legs for the first time. It offers a range of sweeping blue runs that challenge without causing too many problems for the less confident skiers.

For more complex runs, the Aguille Rouge offers an impressive challenge for those looking to end the day with no legs!

In terms of night life, La Folie Douce offers the classic apres ski experience, with an easy green run straight down into Les Arcs 1800 or a gondola. Within 1800 itself, there are several smaller bars where one can trial the local liquors in a warm and welcoming environment.

There was a range of restaurants for all price ranges, as well as takeaways for snatching a quick bite. For those wanting to try a fondue, I havent had better.

We go every year. It's one of the higher resorts and it generally has decent snow. Lots of easy runs for beginners plus harder ones for advanced. Ok off piste and tree runs if you know where to look.
Cable car takes you to la plange which gives another entire resort to explore :)

Visited often and still find new runs and off piste. Can explore La Plagne with paradiski pass. Good variation of runs for all weathers and snow type. If aware of the resort possible to avoid crowds and queues. We ski from Bourg St Maurice where accommodation cheaper and like cal free bus takes you to funicular to gain access to Les Arcs.

As a skier, I'm always challenged by Les Arcs. The interconnected resort villages, the length and variety of the runs and the majesty of the mountains draws me back year after year. I appreciate the size of the skiing area and the opportunity to develop my techniques over such contrasting terrain. When I've taken instruction, I've found the local instructors to be thoughtful and dedicated to progressing everyone's skill level.
Most accommodation is ski-in/ski-out, maximising time on the slopes. The modern resort villages making up Les Arcs are just about car free, easy to walk around and have amenities to suit most tastes.
Les Arcs may not have extensive night life, but it more than makes up with superb skiing areas, inspiring scenery and welcoming resort staff.

A huge resort with each area having a different feel. 2000 has the highest pistes including the Aiguille Rouge running from 3200m+ down to 1200m if the snow holds out. 1600, 1800 and across to Peisey have the best of the tree lined pistes with some excellent reds to keep you busy when visibility is low. Varied accommodation options at every budget and there's always the option to stay in the valley and get the funicular up to 1600. The shuttle service runs into the evening so unless you've foolishly gotten stuck on the La Plagne side then getting back to base is rarely a problem.

Ski conditions were great. Went with Club Med on an all inclusive, adult only week. Sadly they have now closed that hotel down.
Runs were very good and slopes not too busy in January.
Lifts were busy, but moved at a reasonable pace.
Ski school was run well, catering to a wide range of levels.
Overall I would go back to this resort.

Skied here for a week in 2024. We stayed in Arc 1950, which was lovely. The area is massive, so loads of variety in slope. Great apres-ski with lots of places to go out, even late into the evenings.

Good resort that is over two mountain ranges les arcs 2000-1950 and then les arcs 1600-1850, then connected to another mountain range of la plagne. Some reasonably priced accomodation with some good resteraunts on and off the slopes. Extensive ski area if you take the full les arcs la plagne ski pass.

Fabulous skiing at Les Arcs - and with the combined lift pass, La Plagne as well. I love it !

There is such a good range of runs, lifts, terrain to keep everyone happy. Possibly a bit short of mountain restaurants, but OK.

I stayed at UCPA, Les Arcs and honestly it was one of the best experiences Ive ever had. (Check out my other review on Tignes and Val DIsere)

I picked up snowboarding on that very trip and I could do blue-red slopes with some tree runs. The instructors were a really good and the slopes are ideal for beginners to advance quickly, regardless of skill level. This is owed to the vast spaces on the slopes and the quality of the snow there.

Great access to the pistes from Les arcs 1900. The village is fully ski in ski out. Over in 1800 there is great apres, however it can be quite difficult to get back from.

Been here a few times over the years and every time I go it does not disappoint, good food options all over the mountain, I haven't had the chance to do much off piest exploring yet but hopefully next time. I don't know if I have been lucky every time I've gone or they do it season round but there are always loads of little event type things going on like skiing over water and features which really gives a fun festival atmosphere when there. The only issue I've ever has was in the ski area some of the lifts get very overwhelmed with the volume of skiers especially those in the town compared to those on the mountain however this is understandable. But all in all a great resort to go skiing in if you are an intermediate to advanced skier

Les Arc is a big resort. This might worry some people but an abundance of piestes means there is more than enough space for everyone. The resort is split into two halves with les arc 1600 & 1800 on the valley side and 1950 & 2000 on the flip side sitting inside a natural bowl. The best skiing can be found in the bowl if you are intermediate+. On peak times (holidays etc) the resort gets busy so get up high and out of the resorts valley side for less crowds.

Les Arc is a great resort with the perfect mix of runs from beginner to expert. You can also access La Plagne which has the same.
