What Skiers Say About Les Arcs

Les Arcs attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with intermediate skiers being particularly well-served. Reviewers consistently mention the vast ski area, especially when linked with La Plagne via the Paradiski pass, offering extensive terrain that prevents boredom over a week. The lift system is generally praised for efficiency and minimal queuing, though some mention increased crowds in recent years due to new all-inclusive hotels. Après-ski receives positive feedback, particularly venues like Folie Douce and L'Arpette in Arc 1800. Several users note good value compared to other French resorts, convenient access via funicular from Bourg-St-Maurice, and reliable snow conditions due to altitude. Common criticisms include limited nightlife and restaurant options in some villages (particularly Arc 2000), crowded narrow sections on certain runs, and an abundance of flat connecting tracks that frustrate snowboarders.

Great for families, and after fresh snow there are some great off piste areas to enjoy. Hotel was great (ski-in and ski-out), however as there were partial lift closures, queues were extensive.

Great selection of pistes for every level. Most accomodation is within 100m of a lift. Well worth a trip over the la plagne as well.

I went to les arcs with my uni ski trip as a beginner and loved it! My ski instructor was super friendly and helpful (apart from when he didnt teach us how to use a ski lift and we wiped out a french couple ). The ski down from apres as a beginner was at first scary but we found that there was a very scenic alternative route down which was a nice blue run and was a great way to end each day.Our accommodation was very well priced. Red Hot Saloon provided us with some really heart food for dinner each day (big portions!). We enjoyed great nightlife but this was organised by my uni so Im not sure what the nightlife is usually like. The town was so quaint with many cheese shops, creparies, supermarkets and more. I have never been anywhere else so I am not sure how it compares to other resorts but les arcs provided a great beginner experience for me.

Really great resort, good nightlife and aprés. Had some really good snow in January, but a lot of sections were quite icy. Accommodation at Arc 1800 is really good but there is a slightly lower section at ~ 1750 which you can access via a small Gondola. This section is where all of the bars and clubs are and it would be much easier getting home from a night out if you stay at this lower section.

Skiing was good overall. Stayed in 1950 side which was more family orientated and so not alot of night life options. Good snow and whole resort was open for the duration of stay

Amazing luxury resort (i recommend Les Arcs 1950 for a quieter ski from your door place). Easy access to 2000 by cable car for dinner and skiing.

Good resort for families and children with a good mix of runs and a very relaxed and nice atmosphere. Can be quite quiet later on in the night for any groups of young people looking for something more lively you may want to consider something a bit more exciting. Really good apres ski at folie douce and a few other mountain bars.

Amazing for beginners and family. But also has something for those who hate mor experienced. Arcs 1950 is more family friendly and little apres, but you can ski to 1800 where folie douce is if you are looking for more apres.

Great ski in ski out accomodation at 2000. Lots of mountain cafe options at standard prices. Powder days are great. Big area to explore so no danger of getting bored.

Lots of runs great for intermediate skiers with many red runs that arent too hard. We did have one person snow boarding she found the blue runs a bit flat so this made it hard for her. With the option of going over to la plagne there was endless skiing available. The apres was ok, follie was as expected pricey and didnt serve vodka after 4pm which was disappointing. The apres in arc 1800 village was non existent the nights we were down there seemed more of a pub/restaurant calm vibe down there.

Stayed in 1950, ski in ski out was a real bonus. New year celebrations were very good. Not a lot for non skiers but out hotel had great wellness centre with pool and sauna. Pistes were well groomed and lots of wide open pistes

Went in 2023, and overall it was a great resort, especially as you have access to a range of runs in both the Les arcs and le plagne side. Good variety of small villages with a range of restaurants also. Great for beginners like myself, and also enough reds/blacks to keep my more advanced friends occupied also.
