What Skiers Say About La Tania

La Tania is a small, purpose-built resort located between Courchevel and Meribel in the Three Valleys, attracting primarily families and mixed-ability groups. Reviewers consistently mention easy access to the wider Three Valleys ski area via a single gondola, ski-in/ski-out accommodation options, and significantly lower prices compared to neighbouring Courchevel. The tree-lined Folyères blue run back to the village is frequently praised, though several users note it can become icy or challenging for beginners later in the season. The Ski Lodge pub is repeatedly cited as the main après-ski venue with live music, while eating and nightlife options are limited to a handful of establishments. Most reviewers describe the atmosphere as relaxed and family-friendly rather than lively.

La Tania is a great family friendly ski resort with a great apres ski. Sadly with only 1 apres ski bar limits the capabilities but the bar is great. The ski school is excellent very welcoming and easy to get to. There is a great amount of sledging Available for the young kids. There is a great mix of apartments and chalets plenty for everyones taste. Lots of ski rental places too. However if you are someone who doesnt want to go on a bubble every morning with fairly long queue, would not recommend as there is only ONE lift.

La Tania is an amazing place, it forms part of the three valleys as you can get one gondola up into the main sections of the mountain.

The village is full of great bars and restaurants with Pub Le Ski Lodge being a favourite.

A family friendly ski village which is more affordable than the main sections of the mountain range.

Visited twice this season once over Christmas then return for some spring skiing in march. What can I say I will be returning next year. A beautiful quiet resort with fantastic restaurants especially Marmottons and the most friendly people. Great easy access to the whole of the three vallies.

On a recent trip with friends to La Tania, during the week starting 18/03/2024, we had a really nice time. Our accommodation with right above the main lift which takes you up high enough to give you options to access the rest of Courchevel or the Méribel valley. Unfortunately it was unusually hot and not much snow during the week, so it meant that the bottom of the run was not open to accessing the lift directly (a problem Im sure a number of resorts with a lower altitude experienced). That being said, we were still able to do some great skiing, by going out early and taking advantage of the runs higher up the mountain, which were groomed each day. There was a decent bit of cover off piste to allow for some unique runs to be explored. One of the things that makes la tania special for me, is the ability to ski amongst the trees - it really does have the most pleasant/fresh smell.

In terms of entertainment, there are a few options, but is definitely not a first choice in the three valleys for apre activities. There are only a handful of bars, and a few restaurant options (high recommend checking these out).

Friendly folks all over town, so very pleasant. Especially at the ski hire shops, extremely helpful and willing to go the extra mile when one of our group was in a bind (higher level of service indeed).

All in all, one of my favourites to go to, as it has great access to the other valleys, while still remaining charming in being a small, friendly, well-equipped town.

One of the La Tania Ski Chalets are perfect for families. The only thing that lets it down is the lack of PicNic areas further up the slopes where you can swap baby sitting duties. It requires you to head to Courchevel 1850 and head to Verdons gondola.

The 3 Valleys has with out doubt the best lift system serving over 650km of properly linked runs. Offering a good spread of blues, reds and blacks, with virtually the entire area accessible by blues. This makes it an excellent destination for mixed ability groups. Personally I have stayed in virtually all the resorts that make up the 3 valleys, but would pick La Tania as my favourite for the following reasons. Although not all the accommodation is ski in ski out the remainder are all within a short distance from the pistes. The accommodation is mainly chalets and apartments, with one 3 star hotel. There are a handful of good restaurants from Michelin star to bar food all offering good value for money by 3 valleys standards. Apres ski is well catered for in the excellent Ski lodge, with live bands several nights of the week. Overall the resort has a nice community feel and is family friendly. It also offers quick access to both the Courchevel and Meribe valleys with one of the best offerings of end of the day runs.

La Tania is the perfect family ski holiday who want to go on their first vacation in the mountains. The resort is extremely family friendly with great value for money hotels and chalets. There is a Sherpa right in the heart of the resort which is very handy for groceries to cook at home, or take on the mountain. The ski area is quite small, but it doesnt take away the fun aspect of it. With the 3 valleys being accessible from La Tania, it makes it the perfect budget-friendly way to ski the 3 valleys without putting a hole in your pocket. The groomed slopes are well maintained and quite quiet, which is great for families or people starting out skiing. The night life and the apres ski is not the best, I would say if you are looking for this then it is probably not the best choice. There are plenty of restaurants and bakeries local to the main gondola which make it handy to grab a pastry on the way up to the summit. Overall this resort was really fun and enjoyable and I had a great holiday with my family there. A further note is that the off piste and powder skiing here is not great; with the resort being low down, you are limited for options when it comes to off piste. However, as resorts such as Val Thorens and Courchevel being easily accessible, this is not an issue if you dont mind paying the extra money for a 3 valleys lift pass.

This resort is quite a bit smaller than others giving it more of an intimate atmosphere which we all found really pleasant. There are some great pubs and cafes to go to after skiing we loved the ski lodge! Would definitely recommend this resort.

La Tania is a small resort but it can be a great place for a ski, holiday or trip!

Its a fairly quiet resort, especially in non-peak times.

Amazing for families as everything is very easily accessible and close together is the benefits of a smaller resort

But for those wanting to venture further afield, there is great access to other resorts, such as Courchevel , using only a few lifts to get there

The blue run that enters. The town from the top of the gondola is an amazing undulating tree Run, with lots of little cuts Throughs and ski trails through the trees at the side of the main slope.

There are limited places to eat out, but as long as you book in advance, you shouldnt have any issues, although there is also a small supermarket where frozen pizzas can always be bought!

For such a small resorts, there are actually some quite good off piste sections down through trees and drops off rocks all under the lift line, so youve got to make sure you dont fall otherwise youre gonna hear the shouts and laughter from the lift

The green run into the local town can get quite steep in the corners, and sometimes quite icy in the later season as the snow coverage gets less But within the town itself the nursery and very beginner Slopes are very easily accessible with a drag lift.

There are multiple options for different schools which all deliver lessons in multiple languages. I myself have had group lessons as a child and private more focused lessons as I progressed.

Id Say overall La tania best suits families, looking for a no fuss holiday, more often in chalets as there are lots to choose from.

Ive been back to this resort, maybe 10 times over the years with different groups and abilities, and everyone always comes away Happy
