Travelled to Obergurgl in January & March although skied every day in January missed 1 day due to winds in March. March spring like conditions and quiet soft at bottom of a few runs. Lovely fresh pistes at 9 am like fresh tracks.

Obergurgl has a top reputation for snow sureness and being good for beginners. While the snow was great for us, we found the accessible beginners slippers comparatively limited. The local ski area is relatively modest, but with Hochgurgl is quite large - although the link gondola is long and slow. We liked the easy access to Solden by bus. The mountain restaurants in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl were fantastic and very Austrian! The ease of access from Innsbruck airport is a real bonus.

This resort is great for families and anyone wanting good, open skiing on well groomed slopes. For those wanting more challenging options (steep/moguls/etc) they may find it a bit limited but the scenery makes up for this as it’s a beautiful ski area with plenty of lifts and plenty of mountain side dining options.

Great Resort - not too busy, never really had to wait for the gondolas or ski lifts. There were some good food options both on and off the mountain, and we had a great stay at the hotel just by the slopes. My 1 issue was the slope difficulty rating may not have been accurate. I took my partner skiing for the first time, and although he is competent within a indoor slope environment, the blue slopes on the mountain felt a lot tougher for him, which was unexpected.

Great resort. I think that a lot of people think it’s just a small family resort but there is plenty for everyone and if you can ride the whole mountain you get some epic runs and amazing views. It’s 15 min free bus ride with lift pass to Sölden where you have even more choice of runs and Glacier skiing, plus the Elements 007 museum. Gurgl sits all above 1900m so it’s pretty snow sure and we had great conditions in April.

Have been to Obergurgl fo the last four Decembers, staying over new year. We have stayed in different accommodation every time, all have been excellent - a mixture of hotels and self catering.

The resort is very family friendly. We enjoy the relaxed atmosphere with our children. It’s not a large resort, which is perfect for the children learning to ski. You cannot get lost, all runs will take you back to town eventually - you’re not going to end up in a different resort with an expensive cab journey back! Having the gondola over the Hochgurgl is great. There are some lovely winding blues over there. You have to ski a red to get the lift across, but you can also get the bus round (which is included in your lift pass).

The lift passes are quite pricey, but the resort is run well, with modern lifts, and 90% snow cannons, so you’ll always have snow here. I haven’t eaten in a bad restaurant, especially on the mountain.

It’s not the kind of place where you will find stag parties etc. There is apres ski - we enjoy the Nederhutt which has live music. It’s a gentle green run down from the restaurant to the town afterwards, which is floodlit when apres skins on, or the restaurant lays on a skidoo to town, which the kids absolutely love.

The hotels in town each create a massive fireworks display on New Year’s Eve. Everyone comes out to the street to watch and celebrate.

We look forward to returning next season.

The resort is excellent it caters for all. Great ski bus service. You can ride free with the lift pass. Solden is also a great place to ski access whith ski bus . Restaurants are very good. After ski bars are great.

Excellent resort for families with plenty of wide open runs and interesting red and black for the more advanced. Great option to take the bus or gondola from obergurgl to Hochgurgl to explore more. You can also take a 20 minute buss down to Solden to enjoy more pistes and runs

Excellent lift system. The apres ski at the resort is fantastic, you’ll have a great time. Conditions, even towards the end of March were great - snow sure through till April from our experience. Classic Austrian Alpine feel, we love this place great for families and having fun.

Lovely ski resort that is only 1.5 hours drive from Innsbruck airport. We booked a delightful self catering apartment a few minutes walk from the lifts in Obergurgle. There is a ski bus that runs frequently between both sides of the resort that also connects you to Solden (worth a day visit!) There is effectively no wait for a lift, even when super busy on the weekends. Food, beer and service are top notch. Would highly recommend and will go again.

Been coming here for years now - creature of habit but I think that says it all really! Easy to get to from Edinburgh flying in to Innsbruck, lifts up the slope very efficient, definitely the quietest resort I’ve ever been to, lovely groomed runs, fun for all levels of skiers I think, and the Nederhutte not only provides great apres but a very tasty tomato soup too at lunch time!

Obergurgl is a dream spot for beginners. Wide blue slopes. Will return!

We had a fantastic holiday here. We stayed in a ski out ski in hotel which was great. We didn't have to queue once for a lift. As a beginner I found the top of run 6 and 6a quite sticky at the start of the week so if your not that confident I'd ski down from the Mit-Station till you've found your ski legs. Run down from the James Bond lair in Hochgurgl was awesome.

Most of the runs in this resort are nice and wide and well groomed.

In Obergurl there isn't much choice for eating out or apres. The Nederhuette is the place to go and it's awesome. If you've had a little too much schnapps to make it down on your skis or board back to the village they will take you down on a ski-doo.

It was a very poor snow year for the region on my group's first Austrian ski trip. We had an all-inclusive week in Obergurgl, and skiied both Obergurgl and Hochgurgl. Despite the lack of fresh and the limited snow base excellent grooming and sufficient snowmaking meant the virtually the whole area was open.

It's a smaller resort, and most of our mixed-ability group skiied the entire area in a week, even with a rest day. As you'd expect the villages ate also small and quiet, but Obergurgl has a few good bars and the Nederhütte is every bit as good as its legend suggests.

The terrain isn't that challenging, so advanced-expert riders will find it a little tame. I didn't try to get off piste much, with the state of the snow, but a guide for a day or two might be a good investment if you find you've skiing everything by midweek.

There is night skiing twice a week and it was some of the best after-dark snowsports I've done in Europe, with good lighting and full runs open.

Staff and locals were friendly and we'd all like to return and experience the place with some decent snow.

Have been to this resort about 10 times. I stared skiing here so been through ski school, highly recommend, they would take you out for lunch. Slopes are lovely and wide for beginners

Skiing was exceptional while we were there and we were blessed with great weather. The trails are well groomed and not too crowded. Uphill capacity keeps lift queues short and we never had to wait long to get back up the mountain. Friendly staff wherever you go. All around one if the best holidays I've had in years.

The resort is fantastic and the lift system is fantastic hotel belview has a great ourdoor heated swiming pool. The ski resturants have fantastic food and live music

one of the best places i’ve skied, been 3 times as it’s such a fab resort! good for both families or friends!

This resort has an excellent lift service. It has a small ski area but enough to keep you busy. Most hotels have easy access to the slopes.
