What Skiers Say About Whistler Blackcomb

Whistler Blackcomb attracts skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners to experts. Reviewers consistently praise the massive skiable terrain across two mountains, the variety of runs including off-piste and tree skiing, and the efficient lift system connecting Whistler and Blackcomb via the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Snow conditions are frequently mentioned as variable, with several users noting rain at lower elevations, icy patches, and inconsistent coverage depending on the season. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive, with high costs for lift tickets, accommodation, food, and dining both on and off the mountain. Lift queues, particularly on weekends and peak times, are a common complaint, with waits of 20-40 minutes reported at busy periods.

Whistler Blackcomb delivers an incredible ski experience that’s easy to love, especially for the sheer scale and variety of terrain. The mountains feel endless, with runs that suit everyone from confident beginners to advanced skiers looking for steeps, bowls, and long cruisers. On a clear day, the views alone are worth the trip, and the lift system is impressively extensive, making it possible to explore a huge amount in a single day.

That said, the resort’s popularity definitely shows. Lines can get long during peak times, prices are high across the board, and busy runs can feel crowded, particularly on weekends or powder days. Weather can also be unpredictable, with visibility changing quickly at higher elevations.

Whistler is great because it’s a walkable village with museums, movie theatres, restaurants, high end shopping all tied up in a cozy friendly village vibe. The mountains are breathtakingly beautiful with big beautiful bowls and thigh burning kilometres of runs.

Whistler is great with lots of terrain but the issue is that it’s so popular that the lines are super long and you get less vertical/runs compared to smaller resorts since the lifts also take awhile.

Temps are mild which is nice but the wind chill makes it much colder.

Must visit resort, endless on and off piste terrain to explore for all skill ranges. Will inevitably be busy during storms as it’s a renowned mountain.

Early Dec visit and good skiing up top but bottom was patchy. Day we were leaving the mountain got hammered with snow and skiing was perfect. Lots of great accomodations and the village is awesome with all kinds of bar restaurants and shopping. Ski passes are expensive but their are some deals online if u buy them ahead of time.

The gondola line gets crazy, so often best to take a few different lifts up. Resort map in app is not good- they say you can track your friends but never really found it accurate.

This was my first time at Whistler. I joined a small group class for advanced skiers and the ski instructor was excellent and really improved my skiing. There were only two of us in the group lesson which really made it worth the $$. The amount of varied terrain was impressive and the lift system super efficient. There were so many dining and apres ski options both on the mountain and at the base. The village area was so quaint and offers a wide choice of dining options for every budget. The accessibility to the lifts from accommodations was walkable from almost anywhere.

Whistler-Blackcomb is truly a world class ski/snowboard haven. The snow conditions are near perfect for most parts of the mountains. It does however get pretty busy during holidays. The other drawbacks is the cost of foods on the mountains. All in all, it’s always been a great experience skiing at Whistler-Blackcomb.

Great terrain, too many people. On its best day, one of the best in the world, on its worst, overpriced, wet and overcrowded. Gamblers pick.

Huge amounts of terrain, impossible to even scratch the surface in a day. The gondola between peak is stunning and the après has the best vibes and party goers. Not great value for a beginner but truly a world class resort.

Best resort in North America hands down. Lots to learn from Europe and the Alps in terms of service, operations and food. Prices have been steadily getting insane for locals after the purchase of the resort by Vail. Skiing and terrain is excellent. However, again back to single day lift tickets. Just insane to pay $300 for a single day and increasing every year.
