What Skiers Say About Whistler Blackcomb

Whistler Blackcomb attracts skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners to experts. Reviewers consistently praise the massive skiable terrain across two mountains, the variety of runs including off-piste and tree skiing, and the efficient lift system connecting Whistler and Blackcomb via the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Snow conditions are frequently mentioned as variable, with several users noting rain at lower elevations, icy patches, and inconsistent coverage depending on the season. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive, with high costs for lift tickets, accommodation, food, and dining both on and off the mountain. Lift queues, particularly on weekends and peak times, are a common complaint, with waits of 20-40 minutes reported at busy periods.

Amazing skiing but lift lines are crazy long. They do not have enough lifts. Europe is a million times better.

Amazing mountain with great terrain. It can get very busy so best to arrive early for some quick laps on a powder day.

Whistler Blackcomb is a great place to ski, I was there for a season working on the mountain so saw behind the scenes. I don’t understand why so many tourists/beginners go there as it’s not really a beginner friendly place, sure they have learning areas but there pretty mid mountain and lack options. If you can ride hard and enjoy going off piste, finings good snow or carving groomers on hard packed days it’s a fun place, sometimes the queues bring it down but that’s down to a lack of investment from the resort. Overall good place to ski if you know what you’re doing. Side note is hella expensive

The resort is very expensive which is prohibiting however once on the ski slopes, one forgets…
Still some moderatorom in prices is much needed. $150 day pass is excessive with lifta that operate 8:30 to 3pm?!:(

Whistler is good for groomers but powder requires being first to lift openings and going off trail more often. The mountain is great for variety in runs but the population is heavy. Weekends make it hard to find a non busy run. I recommend not skiing the bottom half if you want to avoid heavier crowds and beginner skiers.

Was here for 4 months, the terrain is incredible and snow insane. Only issue is the lift lines on the weekends can be busy. Favourite runs have got to be over spankys ladder - crazy amount of powder if you know where to look. Recommend highly!

The off-piste and tree runs are better than anything I’ve experienced at the tips resorts in Europe. Expensive trip but once you’re there, you get more for your money than the top French resorts. All around a must-do trip for me.

Great two hills accommodating for beginners and up to expert skiers. World class facility and staff, with the convenient gondola for access to essentially two mountains with different vibes.

Lots of slopes, big terrain park and big jumps. Lots of lifts and less queues than in other Canadian ski resorts. Lift tickets are expensive 250$ a day. I can recommend to buy it in the pre season sale, it's 40% off the regular price. From all the Canadian resorts I've been on the west coast whistler is the closest to European standards. Food and Beer in the mountain are expensive. 1 hot wine 12$ and a beer 13$. Overall still a good resort. Lots of terrain on a powder day

Skied Whistler Blackcomb since the 89s, had my 30 birthday there. There are great runs for all levels and the great Franzis run top to bottom, tried but haven't managed to do this on one run without stopping, love Hofs but, great place to grab a beer. Nightlife and dining options are excellent including the international dining area halfway up.
I usually rent a ski in/out condo on Blackcomb side. Best lift system including the gondolas, great addition years ago to have lift going to whistler and blackcomb. Highly recommended. One of the first resorts to valet parking your skis at Fairmont.
