What Skiers Say About Whistler Blackcomb

Whistler Blackcomb attracts skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners to experts. Reviewers consistently praise the massive skiable terrain across two mountains, the variety of runs including off-piste and tree skiing, and the efficient lift system connecting Whistler and Blackcomb via the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Snow conditions are frequently mentioned as variable, with several users noting rain at lower elevations, icy patches, and inconsistent coverage depending on the season. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive, with high costs for lift tickets, accommodation, food, and dining both on and off the mountain. Lift queues, particularly on weekends and peak times, are a common complaint, with waits of 20-40 minutes reported at busy periods.

A really big mountain to explore terrain from beginner to expert, on piste to off piste into the trees, lots of bowl skiing and a few couloirs to go into. Views are fabulous when sunny but when the low level clouds roll in it can be challenging to even go down the piste trails in the high alpine, when theres deep powder youll be in heaven. If you havent been it will be worth the visit.

Not very much value that Vail offers especially when youre paying so much for a day when conditions are not favourable. Would love to see more options for tasty food at the top of the mountain

Great setting, different to European ski resorts. Everything is at the bottom of the hill in the resort, very few buildings up on the mountain so it's quite wild and unspoilt. The lift pass system is great too if you pay for 10 days and take a day off you don't lose the day. The pass check in at the bottom was great too with no need to mess around with passes higher up. Highly recommended.

Excellent ski resort with so many options its almost paralyzing. Only problems are the high costs of everything as well as the large amounts of people making lines for just about anything pretty long. Other than that near perfect resort especially on days with good conditions, which are quite often in the area!

It's big and its beautiful, but and on weekends and holidays extremely busy. If you don't one of Vail's passes it's going to be incredibly expensive.

I really appreciated my time in Whistler/Blackcomb . Both mountain are amazing , food is good with reasonable price , people are welcoming , the shuttle system is very efficient to move around the area ,both teacher from Extremely Canadian during my 2 days snowboard class were professional and resourceful. For the gondola and ski lift they were working pretty well and not too fast to get in if you are a begginner but quick enought to bring you where you want to go. I didn't expérience the powder unfortunately but gooming is great on both mountain . I would recommend for anyone who want a huge and diverse environment for skiing/snowboarding!!

I used to live in Whistler, when it was owned by a Canadian company. All the terrain is still there I used to ski, and a few new high peed quad chairs have been added, which is nice because of the volume they receive. Now, this is not an anti American rant, but since the resort has been bought by Vail properties, they have gone in the direction of higher prices, not just for lift passes, but apres ( the Longhorn pub, once a locals favourite, now a private members lounge )and dining. I know that locals ( lower mainland BC Canada ), are no longer their primary market, but wealthy American and international markets.
The idea, is to price out, the locals.
Still an incredibly beautiful place in world for skiing and just the mountain experience, I would just rather spend my money in the interior of the province now, Silver Star, Big White, and Apex. I hope this helps, you can reach out to me for any other questions you might have.

Stayed in a condo on the hill with 2 other couples. Very good ski out location and above average accommodations.Went in mid February and snow conditions were fantastic.Apres ski at bottom of the hill was top notch with friendly folks and great service.Family friendly and runs were best suited for intermediate to advanced skiers.

Whistler hadnt had snow for at least 10 days so the slopes were much icier than normally the case. Nevertheless, the crews worked hard to keep them in good shape. Its hard to complain when all three days were bluebird.

Blackcomb has exceptional fall-line skiing. One can always find good lines in the Whistler back-bowls, and the back side runs off of Sapnkys Ladder can be breathtaking after a fresh snowfall. Lots of terrain to be explored for those in search of adventure.
