What Skiers Say About Whistler Blackcomb

Whistler Blackcomb attracts skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners to experts. Reviewers consistently praise the massive skiable terrain across two mountains, the variety of runs including off-piste and tree skiing, and the efficient lift system connecting Whistler and Blackcomb via the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Snow conditions are frequently mentioned as variable, with several users noting rain at lower elevations, icy patches, and inconsistent coverage depending on the season. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive, with high costs for lift tickets, accommodation, food, and dining both on and off the mountain. Lift queues, particularly on weekends and peak times, are a common complaint, with waits of 20-40 minutes reported at busy periods.

Great wide and long beginners slopes to let you get into it - empty slopes for spring skiing. Stoke us high on the mountain - happy and encouraging. Plenty of places for beer afterwards at lots of different price ranges. Value for money easy to find!

Great large resort and nice village atmosphere. Lots of varied options with different price tags. Big snow dumps often in March made for some very fun skiing! Long lift queues on powder days (unless the roads up from Vancouver are blocked)

I grew up going to Whistler and still love it though it has become incredibly expensive in recent years. Book far in advance as accommodation gets filled up really fast and prices shoot up. Snow has also not been as good in recent years but if you are in the alpine it is not too bad. Enjoy it while it lasts :')

Super packed and busy. Worth it to buy First Tracks tickets for weekdays non holiday time. Don’t even bother on long weekends if you can help it - the queues can be over an hour!

Going to whistler feels like being spoiled. The range of runs, the space, it’s incredible. Show up on a blue bird day and you’ll feel like the luckiest person on earth. It’s incredibly expensive, it’s very busy on weekends and the lines get long, but you can spread out quite easily and there’s a lot of space to explore.

Great variety of terrain and slack country. Conditions can be variable, but when it snows the powder is great. The lift lines and crowds on the slopes are a real negative, runs can get skied out quickly. It can be quite overpriced.

Sking is typically great at whistler with the exception of a few off weeks with bad conditions.

If you are to visit during a week with good conditions it will be the trip of a lifetime.

It is a huge resort with so many options for runs, bowls with many on and off pieste options meaning you will never get bored even during a longer trip! Amazing powder drops and very helpful resort staff for guides and ski hire. The lifts can get very busy so recommended to get out early. Fun apres ski bars and some good food spots especially for sushi when you come down from the mountain!

Unfortunately the snow hadn’t come in as much as we had hoped for the time of year but we made do. They need to figure out the lines for the lifts though.

Great terrain. Overcrowded. Snows a lot but snow quality is wet and poor. Too close to sea level for frequent dry snow

Without doubt my favourite ski resort, it has everything you need, fast groomed pistes (Dave Murray Downhill on a quiet morning freshly posted cannot be beaten). Along with epic off piste, including some great tree skiing.

The standard of tuition for beginners was really high (a lot better than in Europe) with a focus on teaching ability rather than just being a good skier. My kids loved the ski school and progressed rapidly.

Off the slopes there is also a lot to do for non skiiers, perfect for a wife who doesn’t ski. With shopping, spa and the all important trip dog sledding.

It’s a shame it’s so far to travel as I’d love to be here every year!
