What Skiers Say About Whistler Blackcomb

Whistler Blackcomb attracts skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners to experts. Reviewers consistently praise the massive skiable terrain across two mountains, the variety of runs including off-piste and tree skiing, and the efficient lift system connecting Whistler and Blackcomb via the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Snow conditions are frequently mentioned as variable, with several users noting rain at lower elevations, icy patches, and inconsistent coverage depending on the season. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive, with high costs for lift tickets, accommodation, food, and dining both on and off the mountain. Lift queues, particularly on weekends and peak times, are a common complaint, with waits of 20-40 minutes reported at busy periods.

Skiing in Whistler is fun when the snow is there and you can ski pow off piste, but on a below average year it gets pretty bad as they dont tend to groom the runs very much. The ski hill itself is nice enough but the village is underwhelming. The nightlife is pretty bad with commercial nightclubs and no outstanding venues

They never groom runs, there's moguls everywhere. There's not enough pow days the off piste is good but full of jerry. The village is very average, the apres is below average there's barely any clubs or nightlife, the ones that are here the music sucks. The restaurant options are either super high end and expensive or really cheap and awful. Either way the food isn't that good, compared to Europe. The chair lifts/gondolas always break down and stop.

On top of all that ski lessons are expensive so no one knows how to ski the pistes are bedlam. AND the otherside of the valley gets heaps more and better snow. Overhyped ski resort.

I absolutely love whistler blackcomb . It is a very accommodating resort, with something to do for everyone. The food is well priced, and almost all of the runs are amazing. There are almost no cons, they get everything right, all the time!

Grew up skiing here. Amazing resort, Id say one of the best in Canada. It gets a little pricey but its totally worth it on those bluebird days.

Whistler is an iconic resort with plenty of skiable terrain for everyone. Unfortunately with its popularity comes long lift times and busy restaurants. Despite this, the staff do a great job to live up to their experience of a lifetime mission statement. There are many incredible restaurant options for all budgets as well as plenty of retail to dabble in.
A bubbly ski town with friendly locals and guests alike, Miles of skiable terrain and plenty of off snow attractions makes this a great destination for skiers and riders of all ages and abilities. Theres truly something for everyone!

I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Whistler, with unlimited tree runs and off piste, perfectly groomed slopes first thing in the morning, its just unfortunate that the Whistler Gondola is slow and stops frequently, and how busy the pistes get.

Whistler is always a blast. Great selection of terrain, whether you like bombing groomers or hounding powder off-piste. Most fun for an intermediate/advanced rider, however theres a solid amount of terrain for beginners or lower intermediates.

The village is always fun, great food, clubs, bars. Very expensive though.

Whistler is great, but to busy and over priced. Near Vancouver defininitly the best option. I would say its over rated though. Great resort to go with your family.

Im from the east coast so skiing out west is always an amazing treat. The mountain was busy, but the lifts move people through quite quickly. There are more glades runs then you could hit in a weekend of skiing nothing but trees, and if youre lucky enough to get some powder youll have the time of your life in the trees. I didnt spend much time in the parks, but they looked amazing and really well built. The only criticism I have is that I expected there to be more long, steep black diamonds. Maybe they were short staffed or something when I went, but there were only 2 groomed blacks on the whole mountain(Whistler and backcomb), and neither were that long. I still had a blast racing down them, just wish there was a bit more variety. There is a fair bit of luck involved when you go to Whistler too. The weather can be super cloudy. I just stay in the woods when it gets like that though, since Im usually not going fast enough for it to be a problem.

Read to the end!

This is the best ski resort in the world when it comes to amount of snow and terrain. Unfortunately, people know, so it is insanely busy. Ski the best mountains in the world, but expect lineups, tracks, and a big hit to you wallet. Terrain park is world class. Gets lots of snow, just extremely busy.

One of the best mountains in North America terrain-wise. Used to be the best. Recently has gotten very expensive and very crowded. If you are an expert skier, it is worth the money and lift lines to access great terrain. If you are just beginning or more intermediate, there is no need to come up here. The groomers are not any different than other local mountains. However, the village is amazing. Lots to do, eat, and see.

Its a pretty good resort- and there are lots of things to do even if you dont ski. My cousin got married here.
However the lift lines are really long.
Go when its raining to skip the crowds.

Whistler Blackcomb has been like a second home to me. Beautiful runs, scenic views, and an incredible range of terrain will definitely provide good times. While the prices arent the best and the runs get a little crowded, the good times shared with friends and family heavily outweigh the cons. I will highly recommend this resort to anyone that can get an edge card for passes.

Ive spent two seasons in WB. Being born and raised in Tatras, Slovakia, this was literally like unlocking a next level in already well played game. Its not only the terrain, but the overall stoke about riding that makes you push your limits a bit further, even if you dont want to. I imagine how my life would be if I lived here from when I was a kidfreeride terrain easily accesible from the lift or with only a bit of skitouring..a real dream. I am not giving 5stars as the resort is often crowded and the lineups are pretty crazy- and! To leave space for improvement, that is always a good idea! Thanks for having me WB

I worked on WB off and on since 1998 . 2015-2020 worked in the ski school as a CSIA level 3 and had a lot of fun . Lot of fun easy access ski touring for days off , anything from 1 hr quick skins to 8 day over nights doing McBride traverse heading south or 2 day trip Skiing north to mount Currie in Pemberton . Lots of steep fun stuff in bounds and always find a new line within an old line . Can be there 20 years and still no be bored. I would have made a review for Shames resort in Terrace if that was an option since thats where I live now and work primarily at a heli ski lodge in town .
