What Skiers Say About Whistler Blackcomb

Whistler Blackcomb attracts skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners to experts. Reviewers consistently praise the massive skiable terrain across two mountains, the variety of runs including off-piste and tree skiing, and the efficient lift system connecting Whistler and Blackcomb via the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Snow conditions are frequently mentioned as variable, with several users noting rain at lower elevations, icy patches, and inconsistent coverage depending on the season. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive, with high costs for lift tickets, accommodation, food, and dining both on and off the mountain. Lift queues, particularly on weekends and peak times, are a common complaint, with waits of 20-40 minutes reported at busy periods.

Overall an excellent resort. Provides an excellent mix between beginner and advanced slopes. Very family friendly. Gondolas can get busy particularly towards the late morning. The queue moves quickly, however, beneficial to get there early. Symphony Arena is a must. Slopes here are a little more challenging for beginners

Great skiing with unbelievable views. Generally short lift lines except the bottom gondolas on busy days. The off piste skiing is its best feature with so many lines to choose. Buying a whistler off piste book highlights all the different routes and how to access them. The major downfall of the resort is Vail resorts running of it, increasing the price on everything without and being less ski focused, only caring about money and charging extortionate amounts.

Its a great resort but it has gotten increasingly busy over the years. The line ups were staggering this Christmas.

The resort is so popular and therefore the lift lines are extremely crowded first thing, so I wouldnt bother getting up at the crack of dawn. Let the first lines go before joining the lines. I have skied before in Europe and the slopes in Whistler are more difficult overall.
The prices are astronomical. Lots of good hotel options, and good transport around the resort.
Many different restaurants to choose from. Rimrock is my favourite.
Another lovely relaxing activity is the Scandinave spa.
The whistler information centre has fantastic info, maps and recommendations for the holiday.

Great resort for an advanced skiier, make sure you look at Canadian / US holidays and avoid them as it can be super busy. Great Heli skiing and backcountry terrain. Make sure you get to the lifts early as it can be super busy, longhorns is the place to go for apres

WB is doing a great job keeping the runs open given the little snow pack. Mid week was quite warm and wet but the new snowfall allowed the alpine to open and the snow was quite good. With the additional lifts and terrain open, it has made the mountain seem less busy .

As a beginner snowboarder I found the ski school very helpful and the lift speeds and everything away from the slopes was brilliant including accommodation and restaurants

Whistler has everything you would want as a skier/snowboarder. It doesnt matter if youre a beginner or an expert, going from the ski school to a double black diamond powder run has never been easier. There is fun for everybody, park skiers, pipe skiers or even mogul skiers. As a park skier myself I can easily say that this the best terrain park Ive ever seen. Plus, there is 2 sides, Whistler and Blackcomb, both are really a paradise on earth. I really recommend.

Whistler is a word class destination year round, but ski season is when it really comes to life. It has absolutely top notch runs and terrain park, and loads of accommodation options for singles or groups. The only downside is that it is an expensive place to stay and ski, but honestly if you can afford it, there is no better place to ski.

I did a season in Whistler gaining my ski instructor qualifications. It was the most fun Ive ever had and the ski school was really good with a really high level of instruction.
The terrain is much more varied to Europe so offered much greater options of what you can explore.
Overall amazing skiing experience.

This is the resort to be if youre into big alpine skiing. You got a lot of challenging terrain on Blackcomb with Spankys ladder and you have a lot of cool stuff in the backcountry as well with the DOA couloir. The Whistler side is cool as well albeit not as exciting as the Blackcomb side. Very good mountain for ambitious skiers looking to crush some serious terrain! And its only 2 hours away from Vancouver.

An amazing vacation ski resort, there is plenty to do on and off the mountain. The lifts are very fast and the runs are long with large verts. Incredibly fun to ski for all skill levels. The village is also amazing with plenty of activities for friends and family!

Great ski resort, amazing quality of instructors!
Just a shame about the snow this year - more rain than snow hasnt helped - but Im sure the rest of the season (2024) will be great.

Whistler is a great place to be, whether you are just starting out or have been skiing for years. The crowds can get big, but the runs are long and lines move quickly. The amount of options for food and shopping make for a great weekend and apres experience!
