What Skiers Say About Whistler Blackcomb

Whistler Blackcomb attracts skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners to experts. Reviewers consistently praise the massive skiable terrain across two mountains, the variety of runs including off-piste and tree skiing, and the efficient lift system connecting Whistler and Blackcomb via the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Snow conditions are frequently mentioned as variable, with several users noting rain at lower elevations, icy patches, and inconsistent coverage depending on the season. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive, with high costs for lift tickets, accommodation, food, and dining both on and off the mountain. Lift queues, particularly on weekends and peak times, are a common complaint, with waits of 20-40 minutes reported at busy periods.

Whistler Blackombs terrain and sheer beauty is simply unmatched. There is just so much to choose from that it is sometimes STRESSFUL to ski, especially on a pow day. But a good stressful if that makes sense. From waist deep powder, to slushy spring conditions, you can ride this mountain in infinite combinations and it just keeps on giving. Its hard for me to believe that I get to just be out there sometimes. Over the years I feel like the mountain has lost a bit of points in my eyes due to the sheer amount of people that come up. Its crazy that such a huge mountain gets that many people. Be careful riding down at the end of the day as the mid mountain gets super busy and often doesnt have the most experienced skiers, especially on weekends. If you dont know a zone, or it says out of bounds and you arent familiar, DONT GO. Whistler is no joke, and can go from really fun to really spooky in seconds, especially with the visibility being low a lot of the time. Speaking of the visibility, it is probably one of the stormiest and low vis resorts Ive been to. Being in the PNW, its normal, so Im not complaining, you just have to pick your lines carefully and always wear an everyday or clear lens. Even on the sunny days to be honest, because weather can change really quickly. If you look past the crazy lines and chaos that ensues (specially on pow days) it truly is one of the best if not THE best ski resorts in the world. And after all, it is the biggest ski resort in North America so once youre out of the line it can get pretty quiet depening on where you go. Anyways, I love this resort as its my home resort and will always speak highly of it!

Give it it's due the weather wasn't great it's rained every day. Half the mountain was closed just mud. The lifts are old and slow queuing is slow don't believe the app times. Apart from the cable car just 4 man chairs. For my first trip over the pond I can only say that I was disappointed ️. Spent most of my life dreaming of a chance to ski in Canada. But in no hurry to go back. The flight time is not worth it. Sorry.

Whistler is unbeatable. With two huge mountains to explore, there is enough terrain to keep you busy for multiple visits. Whistler Blackcomb has an excellent mix of beginner/intermediate runs and more advanced bowls and off piste terrain. There is also a huge village with fun pubs and high end dining.

Whistler is the mountain to go in BC for skiing expereince. One thing I will say is the accommodations are the most expensive and lineups on powder days are dereadful.

Im a skier than will see value in the smaller resorts with great terrain. Whistler Blackcomb is big and famous, its a big international destination. and from what Ive found ; almost every ski resort in North America owned by Vail or Aspen have prices that arent worth unless you buy their Epic or Ikon pass.
That being said, Whistler-Blackcomb has every kind of accommodation and aprés ski village. Its a giant and developed area with good food and family friendly. Unfortunately the times I went were warm and rainy so most of the mountain was closed, Ive hear wonderful thing and could clearly see how amazing a resort this would had all of it been open with good conditions. It quite literally has everything for your progressing skiers to your adventurers.

Whistler accommodated my Invictus Games 2025 Team Canada yesterday, and the experience was a 10/10. Whistler adaptive staff helped us all out, and from every single step, the staff were friendly, accommodating, efficient, and the trails were top-notch. I cant wait to hit the slopes out here again!!!!

A great resort! So much to explore and return to over and over again. Some lifts can get pretty busy on the weekend so take advantage of midweek to get in some extra laps

The area, supposedly the largest ski resort in North America, is overly expensive, like most ski resorts on this continent, whereas it is of limited size compared to ski stations in Europe (Portes de Soleil, Quattre Vallées, Chamionix etc). Due to its vicinity to the Pacific precipitation is frequent, as are temperature changes (white outs, humid snow etc). The lift system and the car free downtown Whistler are well developed. The station would benefit from removing all the warnings, signs to ski slowly and lawyer-driven statements like"A fall may result in an uncontrollable slide" (Saudan Couloir). What a nonsense, access into the mountains should be totally free and not restricted. Simply the responsibility of the skier and not the station, as normal in European resorts.

Although the lift lines are long, and the lift tickets at expensive, the skiing is amazing. Because the resort is so big there is something to ski for all levels and types of skiers and the two separate mountains give you options to try to beat the crowds.

Whistler Blackcomb on a good powder week is the penultimate resort in my books. Never have I been tested which such incredibly fun and challenging terrain; it truly provides the thrill of real adventure with the comforts of a resort. Whistler humbled me as a California skier; there really wasnt any getting enough when it came to shredding it at Whistler.
