What Skiers Say About Whistler Blackcomb

Whistler Blackcomb attracts skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners to experts. Reviewers consistently praise the massive skiable terrain across two mountains, the variety of runs including off-piste and tree skiing, and the efficient lift system connecting Whistler and Blackcomb via the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Snow conditions are frequently mentioned as variable, with several users noting rain at lower elevations, icy patches, and inconsistent coverage depending on the season. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive, with high costs for lift tickets, accommodation, food, and dining both on and off the mountain. Lift queues, particularly on weekends and peak times, are a common complaint, with waits of 20-40 minutes reported at busy periods.

Whistler Blackcomb is a wonderful resort with incredible terrain. However, the resort is run awfully by Vail. The main problem is that the ski resort is run purely to make profit and so prices are ridiculously high even when the quality of skiing is low. The workers at WB are underpaid and spend most of their earnings on extortionate poor quality housing under robust contracts due to the lack of staff housing. Staff at WB have had all their staff perks slashed at the end of the season despite working hard all Winter. It is a magical place to ski but it cannot go without saying that WB has considerable issues to work out.

Ski school was great; requested the same instructor for all three days I was there and he was very knowledgeable and encouraging.

Whistler Blackcomb is very expensive for what it is, though - lift passes, food and accommodation. Apres ski is ok, its based at the bottom of the mountain, which I personally prefer.

Definitely get a ski school instructor in order to skip the lift queues! Otherwise they can be unbearable.

Truly one of the best places I have ever skied. Some truly breathtaking free riding and knarly double blacks to test even the most competent skiers. All sorts of mountain activities catered for.

Amazing après ski, some serious fine dining to be had too.

Not a cheap resort but you can certainly get your money's worth from this paradise resort.

Coming from Eastern Canada, I was impressed by the size of these mountains!! Slopes were well groomed and quality of the snow was amazing. The gondola were fast and efficient, I preferred Blackcomb( less people). Overall very satisfied of my experience, I will for sure go back.

If youre looking for après and expansive terrain, Whistler Blackcomb is the place for you. The après ski parties at the base of Whistler village will make you feel like youre at a European rave. The skiing is just as fun with numerous bowls to choose from on the Whistler mountain, and now doubled with the addition of blackcomb mountain. Its accessible by the peak to peak gondola, making it easy to ski all the terrain this resort has to offer.

Whistler Blackcomb continues to be a bucket list ski resort The vast terrain, spectacular views, modern lifts and pedestrian village allow for a top notch ski vacation.

That said, at peak periods it is very busy and expensive which lessens the overall quality of the experience. If there has been a long period between fresh snow falls line ups can be astonishing and it is likely worth the extra expenses of hiring a guide/instructor for lift line priority.

If youre after a busy mega-resort feel with lots of non-ski activities Whistler Blackcomb is still a great choice.

If you prefer to have few line ups and a more relaxed pace there are better options.

An overall positive experience and very family friendly with beautiful scenery. I would reccomend skiing here at least once. The comparatively high costs due stop me from returning year after year

Exelent resort with lots of terrain and exelent sideconutry touring from boundary. Has become a tourist destination so incredibly busy on weekends and holidays. Dont go to the resort hoping for more than 3 runs on a pow day as the entirety of Vancouver will be thier.

I love my home resort, although it isnt the same as when I grew up. When the snow is good, theres almost nowhere better to be in North America. Tons of terrain ranging from steep descents to world class terrain and some world class tree skiing. The village is equally world class, and offers a ton of dining and accommodation options that fit most budgets. Being so close to a major city also means that there are a ton of options for the little ones, making it extremely family friendly. That being said whistler is becoming increasingly unaffordable and popular with crowds coming from said major city. This, coupled with the often varying snow conditions, make buying a seasons pass there a gamble year after year, especially since most of the off-piste terrain is in bounds and gets skied out fairly quick. All in all though whistler is world class, and a destination that should be on everyones list.

Whistler is a great, big mountain experience. There is a range of different types of skiing terrains for all levels, as well as lots of off piste and tree skiing options. When the alpine area does not open up (high winds or too much snow etc) it can make for a very busy lower section of the mountain, leading to long wait times on the handful of open chairlifts. Whistler has also become very expensive for the drop in day skier, over the past few years.
Overall, Whistler remains a great ski destination, but know it can get very busy at times, and is expensive for same day type ticket purchases.
