What Skiers Say About Whistler Blackcomb

Whistler Blackcomb attracts skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners to experts. Reviewers consistently praise the massive skiable terrain across two mountains, the variety of runs including off-piste and tree skiing, and the efficient lift system connecting Whistler and Blackcomb via the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Snow conditions are frequently mentioned as variable, with several users noting rain at lower elevations, icy patches, and inconsistent coverage depending on the season. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive, with high costs for lift tickets, accommodation, food, and dining both on and off the mountain. Lift queues, particularly on weekends and peak times, are a common complaint, with waits of 20-40 minutes reported at busy periods.

Great resort but super overcrowded on pow days. Runs aren't groomed enough which means all the Jerry's go to the same places and cause congestion.

Lifts constantly stop and breakdown despite being described as world class. Whistler Gondola and red Chari stop every time you use them without fail. Great backcountry access!

Whistler Blackcomb is very expensive but it has exceptional slopes. Intermediate and advanced terrain is the best, beginner terrain is mostly traverses between lifts. You can usually find some decent snow somewhere due to the size. Lift lines are terrible when conditions are good. Go on a Wednesday for the quietest days.

Although a fantastic resort with plenty runs and lots to do off the hills I feel the price of the ski pass is way too high. For the same price as 1 day you can get a 3/4 day pass at major European resorts

Big resort with a lot of options for riders. Massive lift lines and crowded terrain at times, but the lifts are quite efficient and the runs are long. Definitely doesn't have the ski bum energy I prefer, but it's still a great resort.

Great range of terrain! And amazing off piste access for powder. Make sure to wake up early to beat the queues though! Does get tracked out fairly quickly however. Really need to know where to go if you wanna find powder. Town Vibe is awesome though with some cool bars for après. Not the same après ski vibe as Europe though way more chill.

Whistler Blackcomb has the most alpine and subalpine terrain in North America which provides a skier with an exploration adventure that can take weeks to ski it all. The weather is coastal so you can be in variable conditions near the valley and a deep winter blizzard in the alpine. Spring skiing is spectacular and runs until May 20 2024 this season. If you don't ski or board, there is lots to do and see in Whistler and along the sea to ski corridor to Vancouver.

I had a great time at whistler blackcomb, timed the trip perfectly with many great powder days. However the resort was let down by how expensive everything was compared to skiing in Europe (which Im more used to)

Whistler is an amazing resort for certain skiers. For beginner skiers or holiday makers, the resort is far too busy and expensive, and the ski school is not of high enough standards. However, the snowfall and and the terrain make whistlers advanced and expert riding some of the best in the world. There are very few places with such extreme skiing in bounds. The party scene detracts from the actual skiing. Its more common to find people that will stay up and drink then ski 2 runs the next day than to find real riders

The resort is great and offers a lot of great runs and off piste skiing but the prices of the hotels and food around the resort are very expensive. Also its often very full and it can take a while to even get onto the mountain.

The size of the resort means the quality of skiing available is good for all levels. The town its self has a great atmosphere with lots going on. Very family friendly or great for large groups of friends. Overall Whistler is an all round fantastic resort. I would recommend visiting.

Not a beginners resort but once you have a bit of experience it is great. Staff want you to have a great time on their mountain.
Loads of varied runs . Great volunteers on each mountain to help you each morning.
Fresh tracks is worth the line up but start early .
It is expensive though and the food quality has gone down since Vale took over .
Food in the village is varied and great quality. Would be hard not to find something you like.

Travelled to multiple resorts over the years and come back time after time to Whistler. Unless you are after intense apres. It beats every where else on all accounts. Kids have loved the ski school over the years and the mountain and resort are top notch.

The more time you spend at Whistler Blackcomb, the more youll love the resort and what it has to offer. The town has a great vibe, with plenty of different food options at varying prices. The skiing terrain is excellent for both beginner/intermediates, and those looking for more challenging terrain, with steeps, chutes and trees galore on both mountains.

Where to start. Lift pass and ski hire is VERY EXPENSIVE. I actually bought skis and ski carriage for less that price of hiring!

Hotels are expensive to eat at. So every evening it's a scrum to get somewhere to eat. Booking is a must at weekends due to all the weekenders travelling up.

If you want a varied diet, don't expect it... I was craving veg/salad within a few days.

There's a couple of monster cafeteria/shopping malls on the slips.... no huts. Need a loo and you've got to make your way back across the mountains.

All in all its a no from me

Whistler Blackcombe is a great resort. Its infrastructure can let it down, especially on busy powder days.
You are taught a different level of mountain respect when out here, so much so that they only have two restaurants that are only allowed to serve alcohol within the premises.
If your used to European resorts for the après on the mountains, this doesnt exist, youll probably have to download and hit the bar in the main town for your looking for that type of afternoon.
If your a powder chaser, and you have fat skis at the ready then this is a dreamy place to be, youll always come across fresh snow because the sheer scale of the mountains means everyone gets their own place, and if you see a red bull helmet, my advice would be to follow!!
