What Skiers Say About Whistler Blackcomb

Whistler Blackcomb attracts skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners to experts. Reviewers consistently praise the massive skiable terrain across two mountains, the variety of runs including off-piste and tree skiing, and the efficient lift system connecting Whistler and Blackcomb via the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Snow conditions are frequently mentioned as variable, with several users noting rain at lower elevations, icy patches, and inconsistent coverage depending on the season. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive, with high costs for lift tickets, accommodation, food, and dining both on and off the mountain. Lift queues, particularly on weekends and peak times, are a common complaint, with waits of 20-40 minutes reported at busy periods.

Take shuttle as parking is a night mate! Come mid week as it isnt as busy! Long lines during Xmas time. Exspensive as hell but great powder and tree runs not super cold weather worthier but has good snow especially the town just being right at the bottom of the lifts !!!

Whistler, what a resort! Insane rideable area which has large pisted slopes as well as large patrolled bowls/open areas.
You hear horror stories of 2hr lift lines which whilst that can be the case in my experience is only on powder days and only for the village lifts first thing in the morning. Once people have made it onto the hill and spread out the waiting time dramatically reduces.
This really is the resort that ticks all boxes, waist deep powder when a dump comes, alpine bowls to tackle and pistes for all abilities. The town has several large shopping plazas as well as bars and restaurants for non skiers. Fancy staying up late? There is a party going on every night if thats your thing

Whistler is a very fun and active environment perfect for beginners or pros alike.
I love the crazy amount of different runs available.
Is it expensive compared to other resorts but the 20% off at local retail, restaurants and shops make it better value.
And who can forgot, the views are breathtaking.
Safe riding this winter.

Whistler / Blackcomb is an iconic North American Ski resort. The resort does favour those more powder inclined and boarders generally. However, skiing is still hugely popular. North America generally prefer powder compared to Europe which tends to be more inclined to piste bash the pistes.

Food is quite expensive even relative to other ski resorts and especially European ski areas. Apres Ski areas in the town are exceptional along with shopping and restaurant facilities. I would recommend when staying in Whistler to choose Ski in / Ski our accommodation as the lift system can be temperamental from the town.

Make sure to get a ski pass that covers both Whistler and Blackcomb, especially if you're flying a long way to Vancouver like I was (London) as you may be left repeating runs after a few days otherwise.

Have been going to Whistler for years and excited to go back again this winter. It's a wonderful resort, catering all the way from a great ski school and good quality learning slopes to some of the best bowls, powder & tree runs I've ever skied. It is rather expensive, but it's worth every penny! Would (& do) recommend to everyone.

Whistler Blackcomb is the best ski resort i ever been to. The price is a little higher than other ski resort. But its huge. However, if you like back country; whistler blackcomb is worth it. If you dont like back country, you have tons of other cheaper options.

The mountain is expansive with all sorts of riding terrain for every type of rider. There are many long interconnected runs that are well maintained. But unfortunately the lines are so long you are spending half or more of your time on the mountain waiting in line. And with the early closing time right before sunset, it does not give you much riding time in a day. The whistler village and surrounding area provides a wide range of food and accommodation. This makes it a resort best experienced for a week or multiple at a time, especially with how expensive it can be, you will want to make the best out of the money you are spending.

Whistler Blackcomb used to be the premier ski resort. Unfortunately has become overpriced to the point where its no longer feasible to go for more than a weekend.
At over $250/day for a lift ticket, plus crazy prices for food and drinks has made it out of reach for most people.
If you do manage to look past the cost, go on a weekday (mon/tues) to avoid the crowds; Amazing terrain and options for ski/riding. Recommend Peak to Creek, a very long run and awesome views on the way down

Two mountains to ski in one trip! Whistler has it all. Fantastic ski runs, village life, apres, to spas and pampering. Love every time I visit Whistler and will keep going back year after year. Can be budget friendly to more luxury. The Fairmont Chateau Whistler is a must stay! The fantastic views of the Rockies, taking the peak to peak gondola or skiing the peak to creak trail, Whistler hits every skiers dream. My favourite run has to be Symphony bowl, especially when fresh powder hits.

Coming from Australia everything in whistler was absolutely amazing to ski on. Was incredible to ski proper deep powder and not snow that was either ice or slush for most of my trip. It was quite expensive in areas but I was on holiday so it was alright. Did notice queues in the morning at the gondolas but once I was on the mountain I figured out areas without crowds and managed to get a lot of laps in from this. Overall the skiing was amazing, I loved the food on offer as well and apres ski seemed pretty good but did not vibe with the Canadian apres culture too much, also felt a lot of influencers were there and not true skiers who shred the slopes hard all day and smash back some beers afterwards.

Love Whistler Blackcomb. The resort has done a good job of developing the different areas of the mountain. There is a zone for everyone. High Alpine Couloir, check, Tree Skiing, check, family friendly areas and slow zones, check. Resort has a lage lift network but it can still get clogged during periods of high occupancy. The base area is well developed with an array of hotels, restaurants and bars. The apres scene is fantastic. Whistler Blackcomb is expensive! If you plan in advance you can get a good price on a day pass but these are a non refundable product.
