What Skiers Say About Whistler Blackcomb
Whistler Blackcomb attracts skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners to experts. Reviewers consistently praise the massive skiable terrain across two mountains, the variety of runs including off-piste and tree skiing, and the efficient lift system connecting Whistler and Blackcomb via the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Snow conditions are frequently mentioned as variable, with several users noting rain at lower elevations, icy patches, and inconsistent coverage depending on the season. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive, with high costs for lift tickets, accommodation, food, and dining both on and off the mountain. Lift queues, particularly on weekends and peak times, are a common complaint, with waits of 20-40 minutes reported at busy periods.

You hear horror stories of 2hr lift lines which whilst that can be the case in my experience is only on powder days and only for the village lifts first thing in the morning. Once people have made it onto the hill and spread out the waiting time dramatically reduces.
This really is the resort that ticks all boxes, waist deep powder when a dump comes, alpine bowls to tackle and pistes for all abilities. The town has several large shopping plazas as well as bars and restaurants for non skiers. Fancy staying up late? There is a party going on every night if thats your thing
I love the crazy amount of different runs available.
Is it expensive compared to other resorts but the 20% off at local retail, restaurants and shops make it better value.
And who can forgot, the views are breathtaking.
Safe riding this winter.
Food is quite expensive even relative to other ski resorts and especially European ski areas. Apres Ski areas in the town are exceptional along with shopping and restaurant facilities. I would recommend when staying in Whistler to choose Ski in / Ski our accommodation as the lift system can be temperamental from the town.
Make sure to get a ski pass that covers both Whistler and Blackcomb, especially if you're flying a long way to Vancouver like I was (London) as you may be left repeating runs after a few days otherwise.
At over $250/day for a lift ticket, plus crazy prices for food and drinks has made it out of reach for most people.
If you do manage to look past the cost, go on a weekday (mon/tues) to avoid the crowds; Amazing terrain and options for ski/riding. Recommend Peak to Creek, a very long run and awesome views on the way down
