What Skiers Say About Whistler Blackcomb

Whistler Blackcomb attracts skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners to experts. Reviewers consistently praise the massive skiable terrain across two mountains, the variety of runs including off-piste and tree skiing, and the efficient lift system connecting Whistler and Blackcomb via the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Snow conditions are frequently mentioned as variable, with several users noting rain at lower elevations, icy patches, and inconsistent coverage depending on the season. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive, with high costs for lift tickets, accommodation, food, and dining both on and off the mountain. Lift queues, particularly on weekends and peak times, are a common complaint, with waits of 20-40 minutes reported at busy periods.

Whistler is a great resort for all levels of ability. It offers easy but fun greens and blues for those who aim to learn and improve their skiing/snowboarding up to extreme terrain and backcountry skiing for advanced riders chasing powder. The cost is very high. If youre not coming for a season, a day ticket to ride the mountain will cost ~$300. All the on mountain restaurants are also quite pricey.
Its a great town with a buzzing energy and I would recommend.

Whistler Blackcomb is a fantastic resort for all levels of riders, skis or snowboards. The vast amount of terrain can be navigated easily. Staff are great. Slopes are well cared for. Located in the lower mountains of BC it offers amazing views over the sounding valleys making for a fantastic experience for any level of rider or nonrider. I do wish it stayed open a little later but I understand the safety reasons for closing early to clear the mountain before dark. Whistler has everything you can wish for in a ski resort, family designated slopes, parks for any skill level, tree runs, wide open areas, off piste, it truly has it all for all levels of riders. But this all comes at a high cost. Definitely worth the trip but day passes could be cheaper.

On my second year of boycotting whistler after seeing single day tickets go $300 plus. They offload all the risk of operating a ski resort onto their customers by only offering decent pricing before there's snow on the mountain and then cut off sales of edge cards once theres snow. The mountain itself is good, the crowds are insane and the lineups at lifts are long. Just go to revy.

Whistler Blackcomb is just a fantastic resort. You can spend a week here without skiing the same thing twice whether you're an advanced or intermediate rider. There so much terrain and ski lift that even on busy days you can generally find somewhere quiet. The resort also gives access to a lot of backcountry and slack country terrain for those more adventurous. Bring your skins and you'll be able to acces some breathtaking runs like DOA on Blackcomb mountain.

Whistler Blackcomb is one of the best resorts in Canada. Spent the majority of my time on the blackcomb side as its far less crowded, and found there was better backcountry, untouched powder and tree runs then whistler. As to be expected in a ski town like this, nothing was overly cheap. Beer was expensive and so was dinners. If youre trying to be cost effective, there is a dominos within the whistler village thats always cheap, good, and loads of calories to keep you running while burning it all off. Overall a great time. The trip can be as inexpensive, or expensive as you wish depending on your spending habits and how much youre willing to spend. I stayed on the cheap side and really had a great time. Would recommend.

Every year I travel from Toronto at least 3 weeks to spend in Whistler. Wake up early from Squamish and hit the road to Whistler. At 4 we do our last run from the peak all the way to the base where we hit the LongHorn salon to go to some of the best Apre that I have done and the best wings in the village. Love Whistler and is one of the main reasons why Im moving to Vancouver in March

The lack of snowfall that season wasnt ideal however the runs themselves were exciting well designed and never too busy, lift times were never too bad. Unfortunately no night skiing so the days end at around 3:30pm. The prices are astronomical as well being over $300 for a day pass which really impacted my visit

Unreal report when conditions are right.

Pros:
Whistler/BC has some of the most amazing offpiste and acres to backcountry skiing in the world. Hire a guide to take you to the best places its well worth it!

Fast lifts and friendly workers, ski school is super but a little expensive.

Cons:
Lift passes shot up in prices recently, going during any national holidays is extremely expensive accommodation wise!

Have spent 3 seasons in Whistler blackcomb now and it's by far my favourite place to ski. The highlight for me is the amount of amazing off piste terrain that is patrolled and easily accessible by lifts or a short hike. There are some really amazing zones to explore and you can always find new lines to ski.

It does get very busy especially around peak times (Christmas, presidents week, spring break etc) and on powder days with very long upload times. I'd say this is the biggest downside.

Accomodation is expensive and ski in/out especially so. There are lots of really great places to eat both casual and more fancy options.

The ski school is excellent and receives really good feedback.

I would say to really make the most of the terrain available its best to be comfortable with advanced/expert off piste terrain. However there is a lot of great skiing for all levels, although expect groomed runs to be busy and lift lines long if during peak periods.

What can I say, Its Whistler-Blackcomb, its known around the world as one of the best ski resorts in the world. The groomers are pristine and smooth, the off piste and glades/tree runs are endless. From bowls to chutes to park to kiddie runs, it has it all. We also cant forget the awesome energy the village has all ski season with music always playing and people always out and about. Whister-Blackcomb is one of the best resorts and always will be one of the best.

Whistler is a great resort that can cater to anyone and everyone. It offer good piste skiing whilst also lots of off piste which is great for powder days. One of the best things is the village where so much is going on there never a dull moment. With it being very busy it can create large queues especially on the weekends and does attract wealthy riders which means it can be quite pricy. Accommodation is probably the most tricky thing about whistler but once you get past that its the best place and youll never want to leave.

Spent a season in Whistler and would recommend. Massive terrain across both mountains, which allows for progression as a skier/boarder. Can get busy during weekends/holidays or if there is a big snow dump.

Whistler is a huge resort with things for everyone. They have many double black and extreme terrain like couloir extreme and spankys ladder but also have great terrain parks and groomed runs. Only problem is that lift lines, especially on powder days can get rly long and waste your time.
