What Skiers Say About Whistler Blackcomb
Whistler Blackcomb attracts skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners to experts. Reviewers consistently praise the massive skiable terrain across two mountains, the variety of runs including off-piste and tree skiing, and the efficient lift system connecting Whistler and Blackcomb via the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Snow conditions are frequently mentioned as variable, with several users noting rain at lower elevations, icy patches, and inconsistent coverage depending on the season. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive, with high costs for lift tickets, accommodation, food, and dining both on and off the mountain. Whistler Blackcomb boasts some of the most amazing slopes for snowboarding, with terrain that caters to every skill level, from beginner friendly runs to advanced backcountry trails. The views from the slopes are absolutely breathtaking, with snow covered peaks stretching as far as the eye can see. Chairlifts run efficiently, but be prepared for massive lineups during peak times, so plan accordingly to maximize your day on the mountain.

The mountain has ALL the terrain you could possibly wish for! And if ever a run feels busy its very easy to pick another quieter one.
After a powder day theres always pockets of powder hidden all over.
Village life is short of breathtaking and has something for everyone! Several hotels are built into the base of the mountain and you can literally ski to the door.
If I had to pick a mountain to ski or snowboard on for the rest of my life, this would be it.
Lots of good apres options but especially hair farmers who play at merlins and dustys throughout the week. Expensive place to stay and ski, however the vast and diverse terrain across 2 mountains means great skiing everywhere. 7th heaven chair lift on a bluebird powder day is amazing! And symphony chair for plenty of tree runs!
Lots of different and newly renovated lifts that get you up the mountain quickly, however the gondola can be very stop start which is frustrating at times.
Overall great fun to ski all day and then enjoy the apres scene at whistler village, upper village or creekside! Plenty to do!
Whistler as a village feels like a fully functioning city at the base of a mountain in a good way. there's so much going on that the staff used to joke about it as being a bubble, you felt disconnected from the rest of the world but at the same time still in touch.
There's no dispensaries in town but squamish will deliver around 5pm so plan ahead.
The bar scene is great, hosting big and small - Steve Aoki at Garfunkels and Mad Child at MoeJoes being two I recall.
The people are great, the village is fantastic, the scenery unbelievable and the mountain is just lovely.
It still feels like home when I visit.
When it is not crowded, I have not been anywhere better. During crowds it can be frustrating waiting in line to get on the lifts especially if you are only there for a week of vacation.
I trained to instruct in Whistler and the quality of ski school instructors is incredible even for the advanced skiers.
Whistler town as lots to offer in terms of accommodation and great food. Its also worth considering a first tracks pass if it snows whilst youre there. This gives you early access to the mountain and breakfast in a restaurant on the mountain too.
The village is on the pricier side, charging much more for the ski pass and lessons compared to surrounding mountains, but this is due to the popularity of the village.
The village is vibrant, with a great mix of internationals that are working and visiting. I would definitely recommend staying here for a week, getting some great skiing/boarding done whilst enjoying a beer afterwards.
It's epic, when it's good it unbelievable.
Definitely should be on everyone's bucket list.
Love it.
Youre going to pay a lot of money.. youre going to see a lot of people.. its the pinnacle of capitalizing on the Canadian skiing market. Massive resort, super fast lifts.. but so many people who dont know proper skiing etiquette.. and so many people you wish werent there.
Been in lines as long as an hour. The terrain is great, but its just too busy. At least most skiers who are there arent tearing up the gnar.. but it makes you wish they just stayed at grouse mountain.
Overall, incredible terrain. Amazing spots to apres.. just too many people, even on average ski days.
I wonder what it would be like if Vancouver didnt hold the 2010 Olympics.
I just wanna shred the pow up top all day, but the jabronis (jerrys) are just in the way of me getting on the lift.
Its Whistler. You gotta go.. but expect that its gonna be a full experience, not a skiing-focussed experience.
Had like three poutines there.. I would devour about five more if my wallet and heart thought it would be a favourable idea.
Also.. its minimum $250 a lift ticket.
And if an area is getting busy on one side of the mountain, you can just take the gondola to the opposite mountain. The back country options are fantastic, and groomed runs are well kept and fun for anyone. Theres something for everyone at Whistler Blackcomb. The resort and night life options are also some of the best; with many clubs and bars around the village, theres always something to do after a great day of skiing. Whether youre a tourist who wants to learn to ski or just get some good eats and shopping in; or the most seasoned skier or boarder, theres something at Whistler Blackcomb for you.
Ample good food and apres options. Is an expensive resort but we were working seasonally and felt our wages reflected this.
Best area - symphony trees and Arthurs choice.
