What Skiers Say About Whistler Blackcomb
Whistler Blackcomb attracts skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners to experts. Reviewers consistently praise the massive skiable terrain across two mountains, the variety of runs including off-piste and tree skiing, and the efficient lift system connecting Whistler and Blackcomb via the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Snow conditions are frequently mentioned as variable, with several users noting rain at lower elevations, icy patches, and inconsistent coverage depending on the season. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive, with high costs for lift tickets, accommodation, food, and dining both on and off the mountain. Lift queues, particularly on weekends and peak times, are a common complaint, with waits of 20-40 minutes reported at busy periods.

Huge range of differing pistes from almost flat blues to some gnarly blacks so something for everyone. Heliskiing opens up a potentially vast area of off-piste in uninhabited wilderness, brilliant.
Final runs into the village centres can get congested at the end of the day and late in the season can get very slushy.
Usually lots of snow but the proximity of the Pacific Ocean means that it can sometimes be somewhat wet and heavy.
The drive up to Whistler from Vancouver on the Sea to Sky highway is breathtaking... it's also worth taking in Squamish and the Sea to Sky gondola on route if you have time.
Canadian hospitality has to be one of the best, eating out is exciting, especially when visiting the Mongolie Grill, such a great concept being able to choose your own ingredients and have it cooked right in front of you on a large rotating round griddle!
The slopes are perfect for our type of skiing, plenty of wide open runs that all meet up at the bottom, so no chance of getting lost in this vast area of two superb mountains.
There is plenty of off piste areas too including a steep decent called Spanky's Ladder... a double Black and not for the feint hearted!
The Peak 2 Peak gondola is the longest span cable car.
Worlds longest unsupported span for a lift of this kind at 3.024km/1.88miles and the worlds highest lift of its kind at 436m/1,427ft above the valley floor.
We LOVE Whistler!
Vibes. Apres ski is awesome.
While the food can be on the pricey side, the overall experience more than makes up for it. A must-do is grabbing a beer at the Umbrella Barits the perfect spot to soak in the breathtaking views and unwind after an amazing day on the slopes.
If this is the start of the season, I cant wait to see whats next! Highly recommended for anyone looking to make the most of winter.
The modern lift system, including the iconic Peak 2 Peak Gondola, ensures seamless access to diverse terrains and stunning views. The vibrant base village is packed with excellent dining, shopping, and après-ski options, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
While it can get busy during peak times, the resorts size helps distribute the crowds. Snow conditions are generally reliable, although occasional rain at lower elevations can be a drawback.
Overall, Whistler Blackcomb is a premier destination, perfect for skiers and snowboarders seeking variety, luxury, and adventure in a breathtaking setting.
