What Skiers Say About Sun Peaks

Sun Peaks attracts primarily intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with families being a significant visitor group. Reviewers consistently highlight the large terrain spread across three mountains, minimal lift queues even during peak periods, and exceptionally well-groomed runs. The resort is described as quiet and uncrowded compared to other BC destinations, with a small pedestrian village offering ski-in/ski-out accommodation. Common criticisms centre on limited restaurant options requiring advance booking, lack of vibrant nightlife or après-ski atmosphere, and variable snow conditions with some seasons experiencing rain or thin coverage. Several users note the resort can feel over-groomed for those seeking powder.

Sun Peaks is a quiet family friendly resort. There are a range of varied runs for different ability levels across the three mountains, as well and a number of park and jump offerings. The snowfall is pretty consistent, which means they get decent powder days regularly. Unfortunately its almost OVER groomed. However if youre able, some of the black and double blacks in the west bowl area and off the Morrissey lift will not get scraped away. Or if you time it well you can get to the runs before the groomers have had time.

Due to the family friendly nature of the mountain, apres arent really a thing. Bottoms bar, 5Forty and Masas bar and grill are the go-to spots. Theres quite a lot of accomodation on the hill for that ski-in, ski-out vibe, but it fills up quickly so booking in advance is pretty necessary.

Just went to sunpeaks last weekend for the first time in years. Was not disappointed. We got to board the top of the mountains with clear sunny skies for about 40 minutes. It was wicked. The views? Stunning. The powder? Light. The slopes? Heaven.

Great hills for beginners, but there are so many runs that advanced boarders can easily find a near empty run. Mount Morresie (cant remember the spelling rn) was practically untouched. 10/10 recommend

Sun Peaks is a fresh little community on the unceded ancestral lands of the Tkemlups te Secwépemc, within Secwepemcúl'ewc. When it snows, it goes! I love this place, it can get busy but with the new West Bowl lift, there's so much to explore! I've been boarding here for 4+ seasons and still haven't gotten a lay of the land on the back of my hand. However, I do know that you can (excluding west bowl) do the entire mountain in about 3hours, so if you wanna make a day of it, you could really have atter!

Sun Peaks was a great resort , I worked here for a season and was a new rider, I have since learned skills through lessons with the skills school. Also being able to get on the lifts within 20 mins even at the height of holiday season is a massive bonus. The food and drink establishments are varied and good quality, friendly people and great staff. Over 70 different runs across the mountains with variations of level and terrain as well as fun resort events year round.

SunPeaks is a great resort for the whole family. The village has lots of food options, hotels, limited stores - but everything you need groceries, liquor and sport store. There are many other activities to part-take in such as snow shoeing, dog sledding, hiking and tubing. There is 3 mountains to ski - all offer various levels, lots of snow and powder.

Great quiet resort with amazing terrain. New chair added this year, plenty of glades to find powder. Bushwhacker glades was my favorite part and would repeat the crystal chair all day.

Excellent experience at Sun peaks. For an intermediate/ advanced skier, able to ski pretty much anywhere. Some really great runs and excellent mountain hosts. Many options for dining out, although most restaurants are not suitable for extremely large groups.

This is our favourite ski resort in BC.. Huge amount of terrain, super family friendly and fun for everyone. Lots of fresh powder to be found. Love the quieter less-busy Morrisey area when the snow is fresh!

A variety of winter activities.
A charming and homely family resort with great atmosphere. No apres ski place for young folks who want to party.
A nice selection of restaurants in the village centre.
