What Skiers Say About Cypress Mountain

Cypress Mountain is the largest of three local resorts within 30 minutes of downtown Vancouver, attracting all skill levels from beginners to experts. Users consistently highlight the proximity to the city, night skiing availability, stunning views of Vancouver and Howe Sound, and a good variety of terrain including tree runs. The resort is frequently described as busy, particularly on weekends, with long lift queues and parking challenges. Snow conditions are variable due to the coastal location, often icy or affected by rain. Pricing is seen as high relative to the mountain's size, especially for food. Despite these issues, it remains the preferred local option for Vancouver-area riders.

Resort gets quite busy on weekends so Id try weekdays in the mornings. It gets busy week nights too due to it being close to the city so people who get off work commonly go after 5:00. Snow is consistently solid and staff are quite nice.

Decent place to ski but I find the parking lot difficult to deal with and it gets crowded at cypress. Also cypress can suffer from bad snow conditions especially this past year it was real bad but the entire south coast of bc had a bad ski year. Also the lift lines can get a little long there.

No.2 ski resort in the Vancouver Northshore area, long line, hard parking, expensive. It is a medium size resort with a lot of different terrains that can be fun to ski

I just wanna make this clear, I think it is kind of unfair to rank this resort against one as say whistler blackomb, so take the scores with a grain of salt. Relatively it is a great resort and for being so close and accessible I think it is truly a unique and one and only experience. The views of the Howe sound and Vancouver are UNMATCHED and the night skiing is amazing. On a pow day this place can be some of the most fun and playful riding terrain. This is where I picked up skiing again and it is shocking that we get to have a resort of this size so close to home. Now the size of it compared to Whistler is like 1/10 but you get my point. The groomed runs can get pretty crowded and more often then not unless youre on off piste terrain youre gonna be met with slow skiers, so be really carefuk bombing groomers. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT try to go out of bounds here if you dont know the area especially at night. All of those zones out of bounds facing how sound and grouse are all giant cliffs and extremely dangerous if you keep skiing down, and patrol wont be able to get to you. If youre going night skiing, just stick to the groomed runs unless you have a headlamp or know where youre going. With that being said, there are some great little nifty and tight tree runs and on a pow day they are amazing. When this place gets slushy its some of my favourite riding, jacket open and just bouncing around the mountain. The lifts can get busy during peak season but hey, its skiing what can we do! Overall this is an amazing resort if youre getting into skiing or just want to learn or go and have a chill day on the hill, or even just take in some breathtaking views. I reccomend everyone to discover this unique place at least once!

As a beginner transitioning to intermediate, Cypress was my first "big" mountain. Compared to the mountains close to the city (Grouse or Seymour), Cypress is by far the biggest and best. Way more green and blue runs (the kind I stick to) to keep you interested, without breaking the bank - its about the same price as Grouse with double the number of greens and more variety. I happened to visit on a bluebird day and the scenery was gorgeous, and it doesn't get as congested as Grouse does. Overall, it's my favorite mountain to ski on as of now that's both convenient, accessible, and reasonably affordable. Great customer service too! They'll pick up the phones pretty quick, the two separate times I've had to call them about something.

Extremely busy on weekends. Because there are limited lifts the line ups do take some time.

Sky chair has some great runs and would definitely recommend

We went late march and it was good spring skiing day . Pros lots of fun green and blue runs for whole family with good chicken sandwiches with good beer outside on their patio area . Cons lift line was long and lift was slow .

Cypress has a great variety of terrain for intermediate to advanced skiers. Great tree runs.

Very variable snow due to lots of rain throughout the season.

The best night skiing of any resort Ive been to. You can ski all over the mountain at night but there can be very long queues when there is good snow.

Not a destination resort so no accommodation options and rubbish apre. Food is ok but expensive.

Cypress mountain is always a fun place to ski, but for the size of the mountain I think it's to expensive. Eating out the food is way over priced for the quality of the majority of what they offer. The Sunsets and views up sky and eagle chair are definitely some of the best in the city and they do have a good variety of runs and terrain for everyone to have fun too, and I've never really had anything bad to say about Cypress as a guest.

Cypress is a fantastic choice for people looking quick and fun laps down the mountain, they are also great because how close they are from the city of Vancouver. Anyway, the best time I had was in the trees. I hope you enjoy too!

The best of the 3 the resorts close to Vancouver, the others being Grouse and Seymour.

Grooming quality is hit and miss but some fun pistes. Snow quality is variable, leaning towards icy but still has some good days and some powder and decent tree runs at Skychair. Parks are a bit limitted, better for beginners. Not that many park features beyond jumps and the odd box.

Beautiful views of the ocean and Vancouver.

Very close to downtown Vancouver, 40mins drive. Easily accessed by car and shuttle. A decent amount of parking. Food options are limited to a Starbucks, canteen style area, and a bar/grill. No accomodation on resort.

Love the resort, best in Vancouver. Less terrain than other Canadian resorts but plenty to go at. Not the most beginner friendly
