What Skiers Say About Sunshine Village
Sunshine Village attracts skiers and snowboarders of all levels, from beginners to experts, with many reviewers highlighting the extensive terrain spread across three interconnected mountains. The snow quality and powder receive consistent praise, alongside the variety of runs and lack of serious lift queues compared to European or other North American resorts. Reviewers frequently mention the long season, high elevation, and well-groomed pistes. Common criticisms include expensive lift tickets and on-mountain food, flat sections that challenge snowboarders, limited on-mountain accommodation, and the distance from Banff requiring gondola access. Several users note that the resort is family-friendly but lacks a strong après-ski atmosphere on the mountain itself.

Access point into the resort is via a gondola at the base of the resort. Be sure to arrive early on a powder day as lines can get long.
There a numerous runs ranging from easy groomer to wild exciting steep runs on Goat Mountain. Truely there is something for everyone. On a powder day, the fluffy light conditions don't disappoint and seem to hold out for several days.
Powder Day Top tip -get off at Goat to enjoy early untracked runs
Slopesidide dining ranges from takeaway huts to fine dining. We avoided peak time to enjoy quieter slopes.
We travelled in February holiday time and the resort never felt too crowded. My only negative point would be it can get really cold, we experienced -30C. Layers are your friend as are the lodges which kept us warm.
I recommend Sunshine and would love to return soon.
Lots of places for mediocre skiing at sunshine ..
Sunshine is a good resort with a variety of good parks, nice tree runs and off piste terrain. Lots of options when coming down each lift to pick your most fun route. Theres also some great slack-country skiing if youre happy to hike for 20/30 minutes to hit some well known bowls and tree runs.
It holds some great events and competitions to be a part of such as holy-bowly and the slush cup.
It would be nice to see more of an apres cultureanf a few more bus routes to and from the mountain to improve the resort. And as with anywhere, more snow
Finding a place to sit and eat mid day is near impossible. The cafeteria is beyond crowded.
If you're looking for a place to take your younger family, I'd consider Lake Louise or Panorama before sunshine.
I find it kind of bland unless you take one of the side chairs so that you have more of a treed in run.
They are basically just steep straight runs
Formerly one of my favorite hills, it has lots of fun side hits, cliffs, and playful terrain. People complain about how flat and short the runs are here, but it's a decent place to develop and get comfortable carrying speed. Oh, it has TWO bubble chairs...so you can cry about having no money behind the comfort of an orange tinted screen.
Delirium dive and Wild West are great!
